Franklin H Wood JR.

Dr Franklin Hoover Wood is a gem of a pediatrician. Mindful, he puts his patients at ease as he goes through his questions and checkups. We have had in person and phone consultations with Dr Wood and I'm grateful to call him my son's doctor.

Dr. Wood is incredibly kind and enthusiastic! He was assigned as our daughter’s pediatrician right after she was born. The second we met him, we were so excited to have him as our baby’s doctor! He’s never shaming about my decision to formula feed and he always has reassuring words for us as first time parents. Our daughter recently had some small growths on her back that are totally benign but we were scared. Dr. Wood followed up with us promptly and put our minds at ease. Even though I know he and the staff at Kaiser are extremely busy, he never makes us feel rushed. A truly wonderful person and doctor!

I am transgender and Dr. Wood was very respectful about it, although clearly inexperienced with having trans patients. He did alternate between using 'she' and 'he' with me, which I mostly just found amusing. He's very friendly and puts you at ease. I think he is a good choice for young and anxious patients.
