I've been seeing him for 2+ years and have already recommended him to others. He does not overprescribe. When he does prescribe, I feel confident about it because of his bedside manner. I wish the office faxes controlled substance prescriptions instead of mailing a hand-signed one, but that's it. The service is old school (with technology) but I care more about the quality of care

Dr. Katz is very sharp, straight-forward, and caring. When he listens and gives feedback, it really feels that he is engaged and empathetic. The 15 minute sessions go by so quickly, but that’s standard in this field and it requires me to be more concise with my thoughts/experiences (which is a good thing to practice anyway). Allie is also very helpful with scheduling etc.

Does not treat you as an individual and ignores your concerns. When things aren't working, his method is to always increase the drug dosage - even if you've clearly explained to him that you're very sensitive to drugs. The front office staff repeatedly made inappropriate comments. For example, while I was checking out the lady asked me in a degrading tone "will you actually pay your bill when it gets sent to your home? will you?" I have never NOT paid a bill - but she was airing her frustrations about other clients to me. It made me feel so uncomfortable. Not a good person to check out clients who struggle with depression and anxiety disorders. Overall, this office does a terrible job caring for their patients. His front desk person, Ally is unpleasant, rude and not helpful at all. I had an issue with my insurance and an agent tried calling her to resolve the issue. A down to earth doctor who listens and wants to help. Office has sensible strict policies that are enforced.

I really love Allie, she's an excellent facilitator and a very real person. Refreshing.

Don't let negative reviews dissuade you! This was my first visit to Dr. Katz' office after a rather abrupt change with my insurance provider. Setting the appointment was very easy, and Allie communicated the office expectations well. I received a reminder phone call 24h in advance, and full disclosure I was still somehow 10 minutes late. I called ahead to communicate the issue, and all of my paperwork was ready when I got there to maximize my time with the Dr. Allie took extra care and made the specific point to mention reviewing the policies, which are all in writing (and require your acknowledgement) - there is no lack of communication in this office. Uncaring office staff, avoid at all costs. There is no reason that you should feel belittled or uncared for because you are seeking help.

The front desk receptionist, Ally, was rude AF to me. Dr. Katz didn’t fill out my prescription because I haven’t visited a while (this was BEFORE I knew about my prescription running out) and the front desk receptionist was being RUDE AF with her INCREDIBLY RUDE and ILL-MANNERED tone of voice, saying, “well, he’s not gonna fill out your prescriptions indefinitely!” Obviously, if you’re a front desk receptionist, you should damn well have some manners. This lady needs to learn some manners and needs to learn how to be polite to people- ESPECIALLY people who seek out PSYCHOLOGICAL services (people who are the most vulnerable). Dr. Katz and Ally are very professional and helpful. I drive from Santa Barbara to see this Dr. and highly recommend him if you’re in need of a psychiatrist in the Los Angeles area.

He has a calming personality, I always feel like he is listening to my concerns, and I never feel rushed with him. I would gladly continue seeing him if my new health insurance covered his practice.

Great doctor! Being with him for over 7 years. Trust his judgment—really helped me out.

Dr. Frank Katz, Psychiatrist in Beverly Hills - he has some redeeming qualities, but he can be a tyrant. He is argumentative and prescribes heavily. He speaks passionately in a soft voice, but he really means to be rough. I don't trust him.

Wonderful and caring doctor!!

I have been seeing Dr. Katz for 3 years now and I have nothing but positive results. The office is very professional. The Office Mgr. Allie gives you ALL the office policies IN WRITING up front to SIGN so there are no mis-understandings later on. (i.e missed appointments, medication re-fills etc.) If you follow the policies of the office which you signed there will never be any issues. I certainly have not had a single one since seeing him. He is not a great Dr. he is not caring, nor patient. At least for my mother case was like that. After 2 years when my mom miss One time appointment he told her that he doesn't want to see my mom again which is so ugliness of a Dr. to do that to say to her patient that dont come no more when she is under his treatment and secondly he never listened properly to my mom needs. The office is great. Efficient but enough questions asked to insure that the medication prescribed is working. Very friendly staff. Clean office.

Dr. Katz is a very perceptive, caring, and well-versed psychiatrist. The quality of care I receive from him is consistant and well beyond my expectations. His staff is amazing and his office is clean and calm. He is not open-handed in prescribing medications which reassures me that I am in safe hands. Like all great things in life, there is a downside to visiting his practice — the parking is pricey. ???? I can not praise Dr. Katz enough, as he truly saves lives and positively affects generations. I have been seeing Dr Katz for almost 2 years now. He's always been kind, insightful and helpful. He runs a tight ship office operation with strict policies concerning missed appointments and medication refills etc. I have always adhered to their policies therefore had always had a positive experience. Ali the office manager is always friendly and helpful. I always look forward to my appointment.

Great Doctor!

I've been going to Dr. Katz for almost 10 years, he's a psychiatrist not a psychologist, the appointments are supposed to be fast, he's effective and very kind. Never had any issues with him.

Ive had depression , anxiety and panic attacks most of my life . I met with the receptionist who was Very helpful and pleasant young lady who answered all my questions and was able to reschedule my appointment with DR. Katz without any issues . My first visit was stressful and was prescribed medications to help with my well being .Its been two weeks and I feel great he was spot on with his medications prescribed . The front desk girl is very rude and off-putting. I was charged $100 for a no show when I tried calling the office many times to cancel the appointment. I tried explaining the situation to the front desk lady, whose impolite remarks makes me not want to go back to them. As a doctor, this man is really arrogant and doesn't listen to his patients. He frequently doesn't know who I am (no recollection of what was said in previous appts) and his diagnoses are contradictory over time. I've been to some of the best doctors in Northern CA and he doesn't begin to compare. Further, he has little personal regard for his patients and his office treats them like a business transaction. What a wonderful, pleasant, prompt & kind visit. The receptionist Ale was soooo awesome, she was very patient with me , & a real sweetheart, its such a joy seeing her before my visits. Also she was willing to reschedule my next appointment when I called, then I realized I didn't need to, as far as Dr. Katz Excellent wouldn't trade him in for no other doc!
