Dr. Francis Xavier Celis

I highly recommend Dr. Celis. He along with his team helped save my life from a cardiac arrest event I had. He truly cares about what I went through almost 4 years ago. He has and will continue to be my doctor, as I do not trust any other doctor with my care.

Back in the first week of August, I had a round of testing and consultations regarding Cochlear Implant surgery. I was approved and surgery was scheduled for Oct 8. About a week later I get an email saying that I was scheduled for and echo-cardiogram on the 24th of august. I went in and had the test done. Fast forward to September 30, I go to OHSU for the final consolation and instructions for surgery and was at that time told that Dr. Celis needed to see me before the surgery. I managed to get a squeezed in appointment on Friday Oct. 4. 3 day's before the surgery I'm told that I need additional tests before he would give a approval. My surgery was then canceled. I find this to be extremely rude. Dr. Celis' office had the results of the echo-cardiogram for a full month and only at the very last moment requested an additional test. If nothing else, this is rude behavior towards Dr. Ross (the cochlear implant surgeon) and the OHSU surgical team. He was very thoughtful and informative. He took time to explain my condition by drawing a picture of the heart for me. He took time to answer all my questions. Overall it was a great clinic experience. Highly recommended!

I recently moved into the Corvallis area and found myself in need of a new cardiologist. My primary doctor referred me here to Samaritan Cardiology and I was set up with Dr. Celis. He was a very nice man, and seemed to be very knowledgeable, but he spent way too much time on his computer. I had a hard time asking him questions, because he was not focused on me. I ended up leaving with most of my questions unanswered. I probably won't be back to see Dr. Celis.
