Frances J. Lagana

Doctor is rushed..I can sort of understand in this day and age. She does what I need done and I am satisfied with that. Been seeing her every three months for several years now.

Don't know where these bad reviews come from. She was professional and thorough to me. I almost died before I met her. Spent 16 days in UMass. As far as hospitals go. Harrington Memorial ER sent me home with a broken back.

Oh my dog, now I’ve lost 3 attempted reviews for Dr Lagana, to who knows where. So: Dr Lagana is the only podiatrist I ever intend to have. She’s brilliant and kind. Her intense focus can seem unfriendly, but it’s just that : focus. I’ve been going there for years. Recently I made the decision that all of my medical care should be at one institution (not UMass), but no way would I give up Dr Lagana. Thank god she sent me to physical therapy. The PT team found out I had a 1/2 inch shorter right leg. No wonder my issues have been in the right leg. I had hip and knee joint problems as well as plantar fasciitis, all in the right leg. I will not be going back to her, she has an attitude problem. Questions I had were responded to as if they were a personal affront to her.

Great result - Dr. Lagana provided a timely and accurate diagnosis, and subsequent surgery. I felt comfortable throughout the procedure and post-surgical appointments were very informative. I was running within two weeks of surgery, highly recommend Dr. Lagana.

Super rude and dismissive. Ignored my concerns and told me I would “just have to deal with it”. Not good at explaining anything and appears visibly bothered when you ask her a question. Please don’t waste your time going to see her. She may be an okay surgeon but her bedside manner and personality make her a very bad doctor. She does not appear to care about her patients at all.

Have to agree... she HATED my simple questions.. has no imagination or time to listen AT ALL.

I honestly had an appointment this morning and the worst experience ever. Felt completely rushed and when I asked a question she was shocked that I asked it then she told me I should go get x-rays, when I already had them that morning. She then was put out that she had to look at them. I will never return to her I don’t know what her problem was and it was a first morning appointment. I would never recommend her. She did not try to listen to my statement carefully and left the room quickly. 9 days has passed after I met her. But no follow up action was received so far.

I have been a patient of hers for years. She can be a little tough - I’m diabetic, and when I’m not taking care of my feet, she’s not shy about telling me how badly that can end up! But as hard as her words can be to hear, they are motivated by sincere interest in my well-being. She is a thorough, efficient, tough-love doctor that I respect so much!

Rude rude rude…. Wish I researched, shame on me! How she goes to work every day and rushes through every single appointment is beyond me.

This lady should not be doing this job. She needs to be compassionate when someone comes in with questions about their feet and not disregarded and shamed upon for asking. I have no other words completely unhappy and I never write reviews. Don’t waste your time.

A horrible experience- staff was rude and pushy, and the dr. was worse. Literally shushed me after asking me a question and my single word reply. After searching I found several others had similar experiences and reviews. I recommend saving yourself the frustration a choosing a different podiatrist.

Rude staff and even more rude doctor. During the exam she was explaining something and asked a question requiring a yes or no answer. I answered yes and she immediately stuck a finger in the air and shut me up saying she wasn't finished. Reading other reviews on this page I can see there is a definite pattern of ill-mannered behavior. I would advise choosing a different podiatrist.

Horrible experience; the Dr. and staff are rude, pushy and not interested at all in patient care in a relationship capacity. She quite literally hushed me with a finger in the air when I answered a question she asked me that required an answer! If I ran my business treating clients like children and being rude I would soon find myself closed. It amazes me that anyone would do a repeat visit; I see several reviews online that echo this behavior. Totally unacceptable patient care!

Dr was extremely rude and curt. Spoke to me (only when she had to) as if I were an idiot. Was in and out in 5 minutes and didn’t address the issue properly. Very unhappy, will look for a new podiatrist.

Your Typical God Complex Doctor. I was WAY beneath her services and she went out of her way to let me know that. Drove an hour to get there. Waited 30 minutes to see Frances J. Lagana. She spent less than five minutes with me. No help. No info or education on how to help, just come back AGAIN and we'll run some tests. I so wished I would have done my diligence on her first. I NEVER would have wasted my time on her. You have been warned... Just read some of the other "reviews" on her.

I typically do not leave reviews, but I don't want anyone else wasting their time or money with this provider. Expect to get billed for services she did not complete and the UMASS billing department is equally unhelpful. I suggest you find a provider elsewhere that will actually listen and help you with your medical issue, rather than send it as a bill 2 weeks later.

Wow talk about a terrible provider! If you want to go sit in a dirty waiting room for an hour, only to be billed $500 for absolutely nothing to be accomplished then go see Dr. Lagana. Horrible experience with the entire UMASS system. Do yourself a favor and go see a provider who actually cares.

I saw Dr. Lagana as a third opinion and she is the one who ordered the MRI and when I went back for a follow up she told me I had tore my peroneal tendons in my ankle. Prior to her I had been to two other dr for the same issue foot pain and not one of them did an MRI. I highly recommend her if you have foot problems she is the most sweetest and compassionate doctor you will ever meet. Her secretary in the back is great too and the guys that work with her putting on the casts are the best, they certainly know how to brighten up a patients day.

An outstanding podiatrist. She has been my surgeon on three surgeries (one very serious) with outstanding results and a quick recovery. Always patient with me (I tend to ask a lot of questions) and treats me with respect unlike other doctors I have dealt with.
