Dr. Flint K Deshazo

I scheduled an appointment needing a referral to continue pelvic floor therapy. I had previously tried to call an schedule an appointment to establish myself as a new patient but was told they don’t do that and only schedule appointments if you need to be seen or for physicals. (I was pregnant at the time so a fasting and physical was not needed and I did not schedule). Shortly after I got off the phone with the office seeking the physical therapy referral, my midwife sent the referral to the therapist. Not all midwives are credentialed to make such referrals which is why I reached out to the drs office. I call the dr and explain my midwife sent the referral. Should I keep the appointment to establish myself and they told me to cancel. I did. Now, I need to have a dr so that a request of images can be made. My therapist is asking for me to bring in a dr to the plan. I call this office and am told they will not see me because I canceled my first appointment. Yes, I did. I canceled shortly after (same day, possibly same hour) that I scheduled and was advised to do so by your staff. I asked about keeping the appointment. I would have shown up for the sake of having a dr available to me but your office told me not to. Not pleased.

Dr. DeShazo has been my family's doctor since 1996. He is always very kind, and takes the time to truly listen to my concerns. I appreciate him and his staff. They are awesome!!!!!

I have been seeing dr Deshazo for my entire life and I feel so fortunate that he has been my doctor for so long. He always comes in with a fist bump and a smile. I haven’t had the easiest time with my health over the years but dr deshazo always listens to me and responds well to my questions. One thing that I like about dr deshazo is that he’s not afraid to give a bit of tough love. Life isn’t easy and sometimes you need a bit of tough love to get back on track. I highly recommend dr deshazo for anyone looking for a primary care doctor

Excellent physician! He very much cared about my medical situation and worked hard to develop an accurate diagnosis. I hold him in the highest regard. Nurses and office staff do an excellent job as well.

I am thankful that my doctor at this clinic is NOT Dr. Deshazo. I just had my first opportunity to speak to him when calling the after hours emergency line for lost medicine. First, it is not my fault their office has no voicemail and is closed for lunch when I am on my lunch break. I can't stop and make a call in front of my customers anymore than he could while seeing a patient! Secondly, if my medical issue does not seem urgent enough for a doctor on call, that's fine! I would expect a doctor to be better equipped to judge that than myself and not be terribly put off if a call back was not made the same evening. But to call me back and then be that incredibly RUDE and sarcastic and aggressive is absolutely unacceptable. I expect professional, caring treatment from medical doctors, which is to the credit of the vast majority of this man's colleagues. His nasty, combative side of the conversation complete with a redneck clip to his tone left me with the feeling that perhaps its time for him to hang up the stethoscope. He ACTUALLY said to me, "so you called after hours because I have NOTHING better to do," and then berated me for not having called on Monday or Tuesday after having me explain why I had been unable to call during office hours. Well, on Monday and Tuesday I was still searching for and hopeful to find my medicine, but this guy was in no mood for a reasonable defense. He was in attack mode. They say a person is in the best position to judge a man's character when they are in a powerless position and the man has nothing to gain. Well, take it from me, a person whom Dr. Deshazo has never met, will never meet, and from whom he expected no profit. Not good doctor material. Not professional. Not understanding. Not even kind. Dr. DeShazo has been my doctor since I was 5 years old. I have seen him for 22 years now. I think he is wonderful. He always listens to what I need to say and answers any questions I have. I never feel like he is in a hurry which is nice because I have had doctors that are really pushy. I recommend him to anyone.

I was with Dr. Deshazo for just one year and started off with high hopes, however, the communication between himself, his nurses and the front desk were frequently confused in house, leading to misinformation being given to me on more than one occasion. For example I was not told that I needed to make an appointment for a particular prescription renewal and that the doctor was out of town for a week. Another time I was booked in for 3 small issues with his nurse Lisa yet he told me that I could only discuss one due to time constraints and that he was unaware that I was there for more than one issue - the aforementioned personal appearance for the prescription renewal. He seemed very concerned that he was not being paid enough by my insurance carrier for dealing with more than one issue per visit. Ironically the nurse in question had actually been fired that day before I even arrived. He had however spent around 5 minutes discussing a general economic topic relating to Obamacare which would have been more than enough time to deal with my other 2 issues. I was given the distinct impression that despite my $1200 per month PPO that I was in the "low rent" camp and he expressed no remorse or empathy when I informed him at the end of the year that my new insurance would no longer allow him to be my doctor. It was almost like a "good riddance" as being pretty healthy anyway I had not earned him enough during my one year as his patient. I understand the financial reasons for his frustration, but also believe that this should not impact the standard of treatment I received, nor should I be made to feel guilty for taking up too much of his time. I've been of patient of him for a long time. Generally great, but occasionally communication isn't straightforward.

We can't say enough good things about Dr Deshazo and his staff. My husband has been a patient for close to 20 years and myself and the rest of my family have been seeing him for almost 5 years. Dr is always kind and patient, he's not in a hurry to listen to the problem at hand and is always ready to help with the best possible solution. So thankful for him and th is office! Dr. Deshazo took the time to really listen and research my daughters otherwise undiagnosable condition. He helped us find a treatment, personally gave us referrals to specialists and made sure the follow up was done. He has a wonderful bedside manner all while being no nonsense.
