Ms. Fern Paula Nemenyi

I saw Fern for about a year in the context of couples' therapy. I grew up in Alabama in a very conservative family. Before meeting my wife, I had a serious, two-year-long relationship with another man. I struggled for a long time to come to terms with that relationship. Finally, through working with my own therapist, I realized that I was ready to identify as bisexual, and that it was important that I do so. So I came out to Fern and my wife in an email. Fern replied not by saying "this is an important step, let's talk about it in the next session" but rather "I prefer not to see you anymore." Obviously this was traumatizing--especially because I was about to move to Egypt. Fern's dismissal of me led my wife to react in much the same way her trusted therapist did, and this ended our marriage. So: please don't see Fern, especially if you are looking for a therapist who is LGBTQ-friendly.

She has been my therapist for several years. She helped me drop from 230 lbs. to my current 208 and keep it off. Also an experienced counselor for personal problems. Highly recommend her.
