Dr Malik's office was previously located in Rockford, IL where I live. She moved to Elgin which is 56 miles away. There are very few doctors of her caliber in Rockford. I found her on-line and made an appointment based on a Google Review from a patient of hers who also lives in Rockford and now travels 56 miles to see her. She's easy going, a good listener and I feel I'm in very capable hands. And so, I too travel 56 miles to see her. She's the BEST!

Dr. Malik and her team are extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable. The front office staff is always pleasant and helpful. I am very suspicious of any negative reviews. We have been there dozens of times and never had a bad experience. I highly recommend this doctor.

Very caring dr

Can't make an appointment. The only time she can see me is between 10am until 2pm. I work for a living. How would anyone make those hours if they have a full time job?!

Doctor Malik is knowledgeable, professional and courteous and she is an expert in her field. We have had nothing but excellent care and good experiences. She is kind, thorough and compassionate and genuinely seems to care. The staff has been extremely accommodating, friendly and competent (especially Robin). I am very suspicious of any bad reviews and you should be too.

The practice cancelled two appointments that I made but when I had to cancel two appointments they charged me $100 for each cancellation.

My son has been a patient of this practice for several years and it's sad to see how much it's changed. We received notice that this practice will no longer be accepting our insurance. My son sees Dr. Malik and has been for some time. He also started seeing Claudia a year ago and has made significant progress with her, more than previous therapists. It's a shame that patients are turned away due to insurance and now we are being turned away; money is obviously important to dr. malik. Dealing with two difficult adolescent children was causing me anxiety, high blood pressure and grief. Dr. Fareha Malik, listened and helped me get a hold of my life; her advice was spot on. She is empathetic and genuinely concerned for my wellbeing; unlike other doctors who look at their watches while in session. God bless her.

I do not know Dr Malik personally, but my cousin has been her patient and speaks very highly of her. She attributes her ability to face life again after the tragic death of her husband to Dr Malik, who was kind, encouraging and very caring.

What a difference Dr. Malik has made in our lives. Finding a doctor where you fit and get the care you need is important even if it means traveling an hour for appointments. Dr. Malik has a very caring, supportive office staff, especially her office manager. Call Dr. Malik and see if she is the doctor you've been looking for.

Outstanding! My daughter has severe anxiety and depression and Dr. Malik worked with her to help her get the right medication as well as recommending a great therapist. Kind, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable regarding teens and psych meds. Highly recommend her!

Upon my first visit at Dr. Malik office, I knew I selected the right doctor. The first thing she had me do is take an extensive assessment test. Next, she interviewed me and analyzed the results of my test. She wasn’t fixated on simply adding another patient for her practice. She was (and always has been) concerned on what my problem was, my history, and seeking a solution in resolving it. She is professional, knowledgeable, a great listener, and not intimidating. I have never felt that my appointments were rushed i.e. hurry up and get onto the next patient. I have always had a very good experience with Dr. Malik. Additionally, the office staff is friendly, competent and responsive, whether scheduling an appointment or throughout any communications. Ironically, I’m the one that has a very busy professional schedule and my time is precious. It’s very rare that I have had to wait at a scheduled appointment. I'm giving a two to Dr. Malik but a zero star rating for her horrible, incompetent staff. If you would like to be treated rudely and have your child's mediations/treatment plans disorganized then by all means, see this doctor. This practice is highly disorganized and the staff is cold and rude. We are extremely happy to have left this practice after two years of horrible care.

Dr. Malik is the absolute best! I don't know what I would have done without her help! I have found Dr. Malik's scope of knowledge is off the charts along with her empathy, true compassion and most sincere care. Five stars? More like five hundred stars! Highly recommended!

Dr. Malik is a great psychiatrist. She sees patients within minutes of the appointment time. She asks questions and actually listens to your answers. She's knowledgable and willing to try a new medication regimen if needed. Her office is cozy. The staff is friendly. The waiting room is comfortable. I would highly recommend to others.

I had an appointment scheduled with the Dr one month out for my daughter. And I missed the confirmation of appointment call which they called 1 day before the appointment and gave me 2 hours to call them back. I was at work and couldn't answer the call in time. So they cancelled the appointment and offered me to reschedule for 6 weeks out. Very upset with their process.

If I could give this establishment 0 stars, I would. I am disappointed in the lack of professionalism that was shown to me by the front office. I was so disappointed that I decided to take my business elsewhere and did not make an appointment. If you have unprofessional individuals as your gate keepers, it makes me wonder what the "professionals" are like. I cannot and will not spend my time and money with an establishment that refuses to provide adequate assistance in setting up a simple appointment. You guys are all brainwashed. I visited Malik when I was 16, which for the record is way too young to be diagnosed in the first place, and I was appalled by the lack of attention she paid me when I was talking to her. She talked to me for not even fifteen minutes and prescribed me Zoloft on my first visit. That is completely unacceptable and unheard of. A real professional who cares about their patient would never do that. And I certainly got the impression I was just "another kid passing through" and she was just going through the motions. I can't imagine how many other kids and parents have had the same experience as I had. You guys are all brainwashed. I have been a patient of Dr. Malik's for 3 years. I missed my appointment and her front desk receptionist was extremely insensitive to the degree of violating confidentiality by saying my first /last name out loud along with stating the two medications I'm am prescribed. I asked for Dr. Malik to call me and she never did. The result was ending up in the ER from going through extreme withdrawals. My son became a patient of Dr. Malik's in July 2016. Then with Claudia for therapy 2 months later. Both Dr. Malik & Claudia are very thorough with both my son and myself in regards to listening, questioning & explanations. We've been to several psychiatrists, therapists, etc and finally found the connection needed between my son and his doctors!
