Since 1990, Northridge has been outstanding; until recently. Dr Rolls (now retired): Excellent! Dr Marc and (who departed Nov 2021): Excellent! Ahn Nguyen, Nurses Sherry & Sherry and Debbie: Outstanding! Dr Shamsie ... A Nightmare for the past 6 months In my only visit to him + my one conversation over the phone; he was rude, sarcastic and he lied about the new govt regulations over a controlled substance. His lack of service has cost both Wegmans Pharmacy Home Delivery and myself, countless phone calls and hold time. If there was a score offered that was less than 1 star, he'd get it. If I could dismiss him as my doctor, I would. As is, Northridge has not replaced Dr Mercand and they are short staffed & under tremendous stress. But of all the physicians in Rochester, I feel as if I have the worst one. A patient is supposed to feel that their doctor is there to help them.

Went to see Dr. Shamsie yesterday for the first time after he replaced my retired Dr. I truly hope to NEVER see him again! He was very rude over all. Asked me what medicines I was taking, even though he has all that in my chart. Told him best I could remember, and then he basically scolded me for not mentioning others. When the visit was over, he quickly walked out of the room without even a goodby or is there anything else. The rest of the staff is polite and professional. He treated me very poorly. Although I am educated, he spoke to me as if I had no education. While performing a physical examination he invited other staff members in the room while I was undressed. He also threw my clothing on the floor. The worst experience ever.

Though tDr. Shamsie Is not my actual Dr, he does bring down the moral of the practice Rochester Regional Internal Medicine at 1338 East Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14621. Let me first say this the office is closed, and you Dr Shamise answer the phone, that means SIR that YOU are working in place of the office being closed, as the on call Dr to assist in what whatever matter the patients per the practice needs. Sir, Im calling for a prescription that I have was prescribe previously. I know you are someone that think of women as less than, but its not a debate over why you don’t have to refill my prescription because the office is closed. When was the prescription filled, Sir when Jesus walked the Earth, look in the chart sir, thats why your the Dr Sir, you should have access to the chart, to review the med/meds. Now this medication is not a narcotic, 800 mg for damaged meniscus and with all the rain from the week but knee has been a mess. Badgering me for when the prescription was place (UMMM A MILLION YEARS AGO) should not be something I have to fight about, one with a Dr and two as if I’m asking you to fill something I should see my own Dr for, and or threatening to hang up on me because you think women in America, is less than your conversation, NOT SO. My knee is stolen 2xs its normal size, I’m not trying to fight or debate over something over prescription that Ive had since forever!!!! But since you are So RUDE and have a Less than stellar approach to how you speak to people, don’t mind cutting someone off while they are speaking; asking questions without giving allotted time to answer and telling me what I should take rather that what I have been prescribed per my Dr; enough time that you I’m going to leave you review per your performances per a phone conversation with patients that patronize the practice. I contracted COVID-19. I was so sick that I could barely walk. I asked Dr. Shamsie to find me a clinic that I could be tested via drive through and he stated, “He doesn’t know what the clinics do, I should find the clinic and go there”. Well if I could hold my head up long enough to do so, maybe that might be and option but since I could not at the time. You should know you the options for the patients so they would not have to spend a millisecond more on the phone trying to have you combat a situation for them. Zero eye contact, I felt completely disregarded. I needed a physical and requested blood work, I told him about my symptoms..he was barely responsive, so I knew I didn’t want to put my health in his hands and I just wanted to leave. I felt very rushed through my appointment. Dr. Shamsie seemed totally uninterested in listening to my symptoms and providing an accurate diagnosis. I went in because of abnormal weight gain and he suggested that I go on a diet (despite the fact that I clearly told him my diet and exercise habits -- he didn't seem to believe me). Dr. Shamsie kept insisting that I just need to "eat less" and that would fix all of my problems. He is fatphobic and a terrible doctor. I have since been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and LGS and am working with a good doctor on managing my symptoms. Had Dr. Shamsie actually done the most basic part of his job, I would have been diagnosed and could have begun treatment sooner. He shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine.

If I could give zero stars I would. I have tried to get an appointment with him/his office for MONTHS. When I called in with urgent medical needs his staff just blew me off. Dr. Shamsie is the worst doctor since Dr. Joseph Mengele. I had an appointment for my first physical exam in decades, and without warning he left the country on vacation. Never makes eye contact and the little conversation that took place made me feel inferior. There is a time for all professionals to eventually retire. Dr. Shamsie's is well past that time. Incredible doctor. He can come off a bit direct but he always goes the extra mile for his patients. It's clear that everyone in the office loves him. I would definitely recommend.

I'm not quite sure what the others were talking about but those are from some three years ago. The office that I've been at is very kind and sweet. The nurses care very much and they engage in playful conversation with the patients. The receptionist from before must have been fired because the receptionist that I'm always interacting with is very kind and sweet although she can be temperamental if the patient is rude. But I understand why. Dr Shamsie isn't always there when he is there he does cares very much for the patient and he's very brutally honest with them. Unfriendly, staff can be dismissing and uncaring. Dr. Shamsie was not accommodating to my schedule, misdiagnosed me, and was difficult to work with.

Shamsie or what he calls himself is uncivilized. He treated my mom so bad and he needs to be punished for that. He needs to be arrested. That clinic has to be closed down. My friends go to him and he is very unprofessional. He yells at them and don’t even give any prescription. His license needs to be taking away and he’s very racist. The worst doctor I have ever seen. He humiliated me in front of office staff by exposing my gown in front of others. He spoke down to me and even threw my clothing to the floor during the visit. Terrible experience. Do not consider him as a doctor.

Does not listen. Types on the computer but has someone else with him typing as well. Doesn't seem to care about me in any way at all. Very set in his ways and it's a pretty awful experience to see him. Wouldn't recommend. But I'm stuck

This office is accurate, informative and explains things simply and clearly. Dr. Shamsie is Very knowledgeable and explains things well without having to ask! All this is impressive and above any other Doctor or office I've been to over the years!

Very unprofessional staff, the care for the patient is not a concern of theirs. i.e. Patient request an appointment with Doctor Shamsie regarding symptoms of Seasonal Allergie(s) (Tree pollen). Patient was told by the receptionist that she was instructed to tell the patient to get medicine over the counter. Patient reiterates, No, An appointment is necessary in order to acquire a written prescription for the same medicine so patient does not have to pay out of pocket for the drugs, rather the insurance company would cover the cost. The receptionist still stands by her '"No" leaving the patient with no appointment and the burden to pay for allergy medicine out of pocket. Medicine that if prescribed by a doctor, would've been free. Including past experiences this health care provider is the epitome of a bad, insensitive doctor. If you have the option, avoid this office at all cost. For your health. No eye contact. Not personable at all. Misdiagnosed me one time.

No compassion, doesn't even say bye, just hands you checkout slip and walks out of room. Not looking for special treatment but there's got to be a little common courtesy.
