About Eveline Faith Tan
Reviews for Eveline Faith Tan
I thought I had a large sliver or something else of sorts in the bottom of my foot. I was in a lot of pain every time I put pressure on it. I went to see Dr. tan to have it looked at and resolved. She had me lay down on my stomach with the bottom of my feet facing upward. She told me that she was going to give me a local anesthetic and I would feel a slight pinch. Well, it definitely wasn’t a “slight pinch”. It felt like she stabbed me with needle the size of a number 2 pencil! Right after I cringed in pain and made a very deep grunting sound as I clinched the table, she said verbatim, “oh, stop being a baby”. I thought to myself, SERIOUSLY! Great bedside manner they’re “doc”!!! All I could do was lay there, wait for her to be done removing the abscess and get the heck out of there asap. As I side note, I’ve been a mechanic for over 20 years and have had my fair share of slivers, cuts, burns, punctures and abrasions. So I’m used to that type of thing. But I’ll never see her again!!!
Dr Tan is an excellent podiatrist! She's a doctor that cares about her patients and her surgeon skills are next to none. I have told everyone about her and highly recommend her to anyone that needs a podiatrist! I'm very happy with Dr Tan and so are my feet!
Rude and just everything feels rushed. Feels like she doesn’t care
Unfortunately I must agree with most of the reviews that I've read. I have had foot surgery years ago (with another doctor) and came to Dr. Tan for foot and hip pain. After taking x-rays of my feet she then said my feet were not an issue and that I did not need orthotics, just supportive shoes. When asked what shoes she recommended, she responded with "whatever feels comfortable." She ordered genetic testing and then only uploaded the first page of the report (that did not have any pertinent information) but left the other 3 pages out and said that I needed to schedule an appointment to come in to discuss these results ("but the results wont affect treatment anyway; they're just good to know"). I then needed to request my results in order to receive the rest of the report. I am now going through physical therapy and they have said that they feel my feet are a big majority of why I am dealing with hip pain. They gave me supportive shoe suggestions and told me to buy shoe inserts, and what do you know--my feet and hips are MUCH better. I would not recommend this doctor. I thought it was just me but then I read all these reviews and realized it was not just me. Someone put it perfectly - she was "condescending, arrogant and dismissive", made me feel stupid at times and walked out the door without saying goodbye. She rushed through the appointment as if she was late for a date. I walked out of her office feeling extremely depressed and let down and said to myself "what just happened?". When I asked her why she thought her diagnosis was the correct one, she simply said it was based on what I said and did not go into details. A good doctor would have gone through all the reasons in detail why she was on that side of the fence. Because of that, I don't trust her diagnosis and will have to get a second opinion.
I am very happy with Dr. Tan, she listens and is concerned with resolving foot pain! I have not had a Dr. this attentive in some time!
I went to a podiatrist because doctors push you to go when you have diabetes. Dr Tan was extremely rude. She asked if I worked out and I said yes. She felt my ankles and said I don't think so. My muscles are through out my calf and thigh... so, seriously? Then she said stop eating so much sugar because we both know how you go there. Got there??? I had cancer twice and the cancer doctor said he is "100% sure" that it came from the massive steroids I had to take to not reject my 2 bone marrow transplant. Her assistants were not any better and really measured my feet and then just fiddled around. No working on nails or foot spots that had extremely hard areas on them. It was ridiculous. Very professional and extremely knowledgeable. She has a kind sense of humor that makes visits enjoyable. I would definitely recommend her!
I saw Dr. Tan because I was having trouble getting out of bed in the mornings because of foot pain. She solved my problems and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Have recommended family and friends to her as well. Such a great experience.
PLEASE DO NOT SEE THIS HORRIBLE DOCTOR!!!! She ordered an MRI on my foot, I dropped off disc at her office, I was told she would review MRI before she left for her vacation but she did not instead she had a staff member call me and give me appointment 3 weeks later with no recommendations for the severe pain I am having. What kind of doctor makes a patient wait 3 weeks when they can barely walk? I’ve been a nurse for many years and never had a doctor do this. Perhaps it’s because I’m a Medicare patient and she gets a lower reimbursement for her services than a patient with group insurance.
STAY AWAY!!!! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. Stay away from this psycho with a scalpel. She doesn’t care about anything but money. The reviews on the NW Medicine page are fake….just look at the dates on the reviews. Because of her negligence, I need to have more surgery to fix what she ruined. She’s rude. She’s a liar. She doesn’t answer questions. You are a burden to this self-proclaimed “know it all”. She’s a money hungry liar. The tension in that office is very very obvious. STAY AWAY! The desk staff is rude. She ruined my foot. I have constant pain that wasn’t there before she cut into my foot. STAY AWAY! STAY AWAY!!!! This is the worst experience I’ve ever had with a doctor. Worst experience ever. Dr. Tan is the rudest and most arrogant dr. I have ever known. Interrupts when you're trying to explain how much pain you're in. She needs training in bedside manner.I wouldn't let her touch me if I was dying. Stay away from her.

This is the WORST doctor I’ve ever seen! I saw her about one toe hurting, but she convinced me I Needed to have all 4 small toes operated on or I’d soon return to have the other 3 done also. I trusted her from the NW reviews, so I had the surgery. It’s been a NIGHTMARE ever since! I called repeatedly complaining of intense pain in one toe but she brushed it off. When I finally got in at post-surgical appt she claimed all was fine. I asked why then was one toe so painful and she replied “IT’S AS IF YOU HAD FOUR CHILDREN AND ONE DIDN'T TURN OUT”! I said “that’s not an answer”, but she told me it was the only one I’d get, and left the room. It’s been months, every step is painful no matter the style or material of shoe. I’m worse off now than before surgery, my foot is a huge mess, and I deeply regret crossing paths with her! She’s condescending, arrogant, dismissive! She truly doesn’t care about her patients, they’re merely quick $’s. In, Out, Gone! Be forewarned, FIND. ANOTHER. DR!
Dismissive. Not really paying attention or listening. Very upsetting.
Terrible
If I could give 0 stars I would, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO DR. TAN. She was nice, but she talked way too fast, did not accurately explain things and doesn't know what she's doing when it comes to procedures. She did a procedure 3 times to my husband's toe and it wouldn't heal. She wouldn't get him in a 4th time for over a month even though his toe was so swollen he couldn't walk and it was turning purple. She wouldn't sign his form so that he could go to another northwestern doctor. We ended up having to go to a private practice podiatrist who redid both of my husband's procedures and that podiatrist told us that Dr. Tan never did any real procedure to the foot, she simply cut into the toe and dug around but never removed the ingrown nails. It cost us over $700 for the "treatments" Dr. Tan performed only to find out she never did anything! If I could give 0 stars I would, PLEASE DO NOT GO TO DR. TAN. The worst experience I have ever had with any doctor. Terribly rude and not helpful. So unprofessional I wish I would have read the reviews before going. I have never left a negative review of anyone, I only like to leave positive comments. This was the second appointment and I left because of how rude she was.
Doctor Tan Is very professionalAnd takes herJob seriously. I will not let anybody else take care of my feetBecause she is the only one that I trust..
Dr. Tan was rude, dismissive, condescending and downright insulting. She was defensive when I asked her about a non invasive procedure that sounded promising for my circumstance. She rushed me through the appointment without answering, addressing or even acknowledging some of my questions and concerns.
I am absolutely flabbergasted by the negative comments about Dr. Tan. She is the best podiatrist and her staff is very helpful. I had hammer toe surgery about 2 years ago, and was able to walk in a boot the next day. I did all of the therapy she requested after the surgery and feel great. So great, I am having the other foot done in the next month. She is an excellent, kind considerate Dr. that knows her feet!
This doctor is the most miserable excuse for a doctor that I have ever encountered. From the first meeting (which should have been my Q to never go back) to the surgery and after were fantastically horrific. In my opinion stay clear of this one.
Dr Tan saved my life not once but twice. I fully trust her, when she says a treatment is necessary, it is. Twice I had a severe infection in my foot, worsened by my out of control diabetes. Dr Tan told me that I could have lost my toe, my foot and ultimately my life if I did not start controlling my diabetes. She cared to be up front and tell me the hard truth. It was a long road and she never wavered. More Drs need to be like her. Thank Dr Tan for being honest with me about treatment. I needed to stop being defensive and admit I was wrong in how I was handling my health. Many Thanks Matt
Terrible experience! She screwed up my foot and will not take responsibility for it. The first surgery on my left foot needed to be redone, because whatever she put in my body rejected it. So I had to go through another surgery to have it taken out and she put in a screw. Well I am having problems with my hammertoe she was suppose to fix. It won’t go down. Now I’m seeing another podiatrist to fix this problem. I don’t recommend her at all.She tries to take too many patients and I think she needs to slow down. Terrible experience! One of the worst experiences with a doctor! She was flippent, nasty, and her recommended treatments were a joke and ineffective. Do not go to her for any foot problems!
I Wouldn’t recommend her to anyone. She screwed up my toe and refuses to take responsibility for her mistake. She tries to blame anyone or anything for her mistakes.I’m going to other doctors with my records to see what she really did to my toe. After two operations it still hurts. Please stay away from her.
She was entirely dismissive of me and my concerns. She made both my feet worse. I am currently seeing Orthopedic surgeon to correct her mistakes. She also doesn’t stand behind her work. When the mistake was found she told me it was now my problem. If I was a wealthy person I would sue her. I definitely recommend you do not go to her. My regular doctor won’t recommend her anymore. Stay away!
I find her skills as a physician excellent. She is direct and forthcoming. She expects you to follow her instructions and if you donât she can tell by how you are heading. She doesnât mince words and donât you want that from the person fixing your foot?. I have had excellent, considerate and kind care from the practice.
I initially saw Dr. Tan for a painful callus on my right foot. I strongly suggest that you don’t waste your time as I did look elsewhere for your podiatry care. Dr. Tan is rude and insulting. I hadn’t seen a podiatrist for over 9 years and she was extremely aggravated that I couldn’t remember his name. She told me I had a callus on my foot and that I needed a series of X-rays to determine its cause. When I asked if she was going to do anything for it she said not until she saw the X-rays. She told me I’d most likely need custom made orthotics (that aren’t covered by Medicare and that are extremely expensive) to alleviate the problem I refused scheduling a follow up appointment and saw another podiatrist who shaved the callus and my pain was immediately gone. He suggested that I purchase a $39 Spenco over the counter orthotic to solve a repeat of the painful callus. Problem solved. I should have turned Dr. Tan in for Medicare fraud as she basically did nothing to help me.

I waited years to long to get my bunion fixed. Dr Tan did the surgery and I had almost no pain even though the surgery was more extensive than I had planned on. My toe is fixed, the scar is minimal, the orthotics have helped.
Terrible experience. I had a very long wait, then Dr. Tan was rude and insulted me multiple times during my visit Not helpful. Go see pretty much anyone else and you're sure to have a better experience I would like to give ZERO stars
RUN (OR LIMP) AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!! Dr. Tan is a nightmare. She is rude and condescending, has zero interpersonal skills, and FLAT OUT LIES to her patients to hustle them for more $$$$. Do not believe her when she tells you that you "have no other choice" than to buy the services, procedures, or med supplies that she is trying to sell you. You do have other choices. Advocate for yourself and contact your insurance to verify your ACTUAL options. Mine told me that this doctor clearly had an agenda of pushing her own vendors no matter what it cost ME. She even tried to insist that my "only choice" was a pair of $600 orthotics "only available" out-of-pocket. Guess what, my insurance offered another vendor that made my orthotics for FREE. Tan is after your money, and she isn't even pleasant to you in the process. This doctor is just awful. The wait times are tremendous. When someone treats you like they don't care about you, believe them the first time! Totally unprofessional. AVOID!
Great doctor. I recommend her for any of your foot issues
My husband and I love Dr. Tan. She is very professional and she answers any and all questions you have about what is going on with you and your issues. She explains everything in a way that is understandable and actually works with you to determine a good course of action moving forward. We so appreciate her honesty and the time she takes to make sure all our questions are answered. We could not recommend her any more highly.
Run away from this doctor. She operated on my foot and I had to limp around in pain for 3 years. She kept saying it would heal and eventually get better. I had to have a second surgery (this time with a good doctor...Dr. Pasture), and all is well now. DO NOT USE DR TAN!
No help at all. Would not recommend
Besides nearly gouging a gaping whole in my toe with a reckless surgical approach; ms. Tan in my opinion lacked severely in the areas of being informative about the procedure and , her incompetent assistants lack of bed side manner sealed the deal of never returning back to the unprofessional office ever!
I put off my surgery but finally had no shoes I could wear comfortably. I am dancing again and would recommend Dr Tan!
Worst experience ever. If I could give less than one star I would. I am not one to typically write reviews, but after a year of attempting to work with Doctor Tan's office, I feel it necessary to warn other potential patients. Went to Doctor Tan after a recommendation from a family friend. After 9 months of repeated costly tests (x-ray, MRI, etc) - a diagnosis was made. Dismissively Doctor Tan suggested exploratory surgery. I was not interested in a fishing expedition. Instead, Doctor Tan prescribed special orthotics and were stated they should be covered by my insurance (I will take some responsibility for not following up on that) and if not it would be only a few hundred dollars. Flash forward 12 months - orthotics have made the issues worse, insurance does not cover the orthotics AND because it was submitted to insurance, I now have to pay the full insurance cost of the orthotics, not the cash cost and their office will not allow a change in billing group to the tune of nearly double. None of this was ever made clear before moving forward. I not only feel swindled, but frustrated that I am stuck holding the bill at full insurance cost with no regard for my actual health. Patients beware. Worst experience ever. If I could give less than one star I would. Dr. Tan was friendly, direct, informative and helped identify what my problem was and offed a couple of solutions. Very pleased.
Dr. Tan has provided outstanding care. I am highly confident in her surgical and post-op skills based on great personal success with her. She is caring and interested in her patient's well-being and health. I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone.
Dr. Tan is professional and caring. The surgery she performed for me was life changing. I can walk pain-free for the first time in over 5 years. I highly recommend Dr. Tan.

I felt she was very rushed at every appointment, her staff seemed caught up in the whirlwind. We tried a conservative approach, initially she said 4-6 weeks but at 4 weeks she said there's nothing else to do except surgery or try out-of-pocket orthotics. I wanted to talk to her after my disappointing ordeal, she did leave a voice mail but never gave me the opportunity to talk to her. I'm glad I went elsewhere.
Personable?? She was unfriendly, rude, hostile, and super irritated every time I asked a question. She rushed through the appointments, her assistant was rushing everything too,. This was inbelievable, I’m being referred to another Podiatrist,
I felt verbally bullied by her. Plus the cut off ingrown toe nail was left in my toe until it worked its way out. No wonder it hurt for 5 weeks. And no it was not a callous.
Dr. Tan is professional, friendly and knowledgeable . I’m a nurse practitioner and would recommend her for both patients and friends and family.
I went to Dr Eveline Tan for a callus on the bottom of my foot. She claimed I needed surgery on both my feet and sent me for x rays and a ct scan.. Then she said I needed foot inserts .now she keeps sending me a bill for $ 120.00 for inserts I never received the castings. She tried to use her scare tactics on me claiming I needed all this surgery. I walk 6 miles a day without any problems. If I needed foot surgery I would go to a orthopedic surgeon. not a podiatrist.I I reported her to Medicare.
Dr. Tan spend less than 5 minutes with me. She was rude & a nasty tone of voice. Suggested I buy medication on Amazon!! Unbelievable!!

Dr. Tan is a no-nonsense doctor who is straightforward but compassionate. She understands a patient's concerns and fears, and she provides enough information and time to put one at ease. It's as if she experienced your surgery and "gets it." Her sense of humor and kindness are helpful as well!

My son has seen Dr. Tan for a few years now. She couldn't be more accommodating to his school and practice schedules. She's gone out of her way to help him get back into his sport after treatment. She has been professional with a personal touch, a great combination!
I'm writing this review as I'm waiting for her to see me. My appointment was 12:15 and right now it's 1:15 and still no doctor. Based on this disrespectful wait time, I will NOT be returning.
I have been a patient of Dr Tans for over a decade. She has treated me for multiple orthotic and medical/surgical conditions. Every condition she has treated has had a good outcome. As a registered nurse for over 40 years, I have worked with many physicians. Dr Tan is one of the best physicians I have known. I highly recommend her, and frequently do to friends, family and colleagues.
Excellent doctor, patient, caring and great bedside manner!
Dr. Eveline Tan was my surgeon for a metatarsal osteotomy and bunionectomy (left great toe) December 2016; 12 weeks later I gauge the surgery a resounding success; I'm in my custom fit orthotics today and they feel great I unequivocally recommend Dr. Tan, she's both a highly skilled foot mechanic and an amiable human; her entire staff at Northwestern Medical (Cornerstone South Wheaton) are also exceptional

Dr. Tan has provided exceptional care and proactive treatment since I began seeing her in 2008. She has seen me for a variety of issues and concerns and has always provided options for treatment and proactive solutions to avoid other problems. When I required surgery last year she walked me through the entire process and made sure I knew what to expect. As a type 1 diabetic, the health and condition of my feet are essential and Dr. Tan's care has maintained and increased my quality of life.
One of the most caring physicians I've had. Her passion for what she does really shows in how she treats her patients. I'd recommend her to any friends/family.

Dr. Tan was excellent! She was very personable and was able to explain what was going on with me in a way that I understood. I needed a surgical procedure which she performed and the results were better than I could have imagined. I will recommend her to anyone who has a foot issue. I was highly satisfied with my care. She made a positive impact on my life!
I would recommend Dr. Tan not only for her expertise in her field but also for her personality with patients. She was very thorough explaining my foot problem, talked about over the counter orthoedics and was calm, not hurried and patient with me. She anticipated my questions and was very considerate of my pain. I give her a 10!
Super professional, experienced, and the best bedside manner! Excellent provider.
