Dr Messaris was so thorough in explaining my situation with regards to my options and impending surgery. He is so easy to speak too and answered all of my questions/concerns in a very compassionate manor. I would highly recommend him to anyone needing colorectal surgery.

Dr. Messaris took excellent care of me before and during a colectomy due to endometriosis. He is honest, extremely knowledgeable, and confident. I finally found the right surgeon who could truly help me. Thanks to Dr. Messaris my quality of life has greatly improved.

Horrible staff. Unorganized. Unresponsive. They delayed my survey for 4 hours. They didn’t care, didn’t apologize and didn’t even bother to keep me updated.

I highly recommend Dr. Messaris. He took care of my special needs daughter who has always had gastric issues. After being hospitalized for a couple of weeks and trying different options for relief, she ultimately needed an illeostomy as her colon had perforated. He was extremely thorough in his explanation of why and how he was going to carry out with the procedure , which was imminent due to her condition. He is very kind and compassionate, and took the time to answer my questions, As well, he and his caring and proficient team of residents and nurse practitioners, were available for the aftercare my daughter needed after surgery. I felt very fortunate to have my daughter at Beth Israel under the care of Dr. Messaris.

I had to undergo a ileocoloctomy in May ’17. Dr Masseris spent so much time putting me at ease about the procedure and answering any questions we had for him. Surgery went well and the care he made sure I received was top notch! He stayed ahead of my pain the 4 days I was in the hospital which allowed me to get up and walk and be much more comfortable once it was time to go home.

He spends time with his patients and is accurate and very efficient and thorough . We have total faith and trust in this doctor.

He is a very compassionate man with an excellent bedside manner & explains everything he plans to do in detail, including what could go wrong. He was so confident but humble and in talking to his receptionists and nurses, he is top notch. I think he's a great surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone. The wait time can be long sometimes but it's worth it because he doesn't rush through patients which makes him the best kind of Dr.

I had colon cancer and Dr Messaris was my surgeon to perform a colectomy to remove the cancerous tumor. He explained everything to my wife and I very thoroughly and patiently. He was a very calming voice in a time of worry, and he was very confident and helped to ease our worries. He was very caring, compassionate, and understanding, yet explained everything directly and in terminology that was very understandable. I cannot thank Dr Messaris enough for the outstanding work that he performed!
