He is a fantastic doctor, explains everything so you understand what's going on. He takes the time to actually call the patient if you have any concerns. He tried his best to get my scope exactly where I feel comfortable with the procedure but I chickened out due to fear of what might be found. Now I have to get back due to the issue of it being much worse. Trust him he is awesome

Dr Tharalson informed me about my procedure beforehand and took time to answer my questions. Afterwards, he came and explained everything to me. Everyone at the practice was very kind and personable.

Dr. Tharalson is a caring and compassionate physician, which is difficult to find these days. If he doesn’t have the answer as to what your issue might be, he is always trying to uncover what the issue might be. Thinks outside of the box too. Highly recommend.

I always look forward to seeing Dr. Tharalson, because he is always so pleasant and very alert throughout my visit. He always has extremely good ideas and suggestions for how to improve my health. I think he is the only doctor I've ever visited who has actually talked about food (an important subject, especially for a gastroenterologist!). I've seen him when I feel well, as well as when I don't feel so well, and he always rises to the occasion. For example, he seems to have solved my GERD problem in one session, advising me to be proactive with a moderate dose of the medication and not wait for symptoms to arise. He has no downside! His training must have been first rate. I'm very fortunate to have found him!

Dr. Tharalson is the epitome of a caring doctor. I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer this year and it was typed as lung cancer with a colonic/intestinal marker. Dr. Tharalson arranged for me to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy within 2 days. Two polyps were found with none being cancerous. I recommend Dr. Tharalson for his patient centric care. Dr Tharalson is by far the kindest doctor I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He cares about you as a patient. I had a prolonged issue and he told me he will make sure he will get me better and figure out why I am having issues. Where as other doctors I've had will not go through the lengths as Dr Tharalson to make sure what was causing my problems was discovered. I thought he was the best doctor until I became suspicious that they wouldn’t allow me to stay awake during the procedure. After repeatedly insisting I wanted to be awake and watch on the monitor I noticed he used the same tool that took the biopsy to wildly bite at a completely healthy area in my rectum, far from the growth most likely transferring those cells into a healthy area. When I protested he stopped but just changed subject like it hadn’t happened. As for these positive reviews, how many were awake during endoscopy and why mostly no surnames???

My visit was stress free because Dr Tharalson and his staff take the time to explain what will occur. They are very efficient

Dr. Tharalson was very informative and answered all my questions pre procedure. An empathic bedside manner is so important for patient care and comfort. Very thorough and compassionate and I would highly recommend him. My previous Dr. at this clinic retired and I'm am very happy that I was scheduled with Dr. Tharalson.

I went to see a Dr Eugene because I had a bad case of gerd. Let's clear this and say I'm not a regular heartburn sufferer. Due to the fact my gerd was horrible , it is I should say giving me broncho spasms randomly. I did explain everything to Dr Eugene however at the end of the visit he didn't give any clear answer as to what's causing the broncho spasms. Furthermore, I did not receive any medication for this serious issue that's to me. I was somewhat disappointed because I want relief from these random broncho spasms. Im very impressed with Dr Tharalson. Unfortunately, I see many doctors in many specialties and I’ve had my fair share of uncaring doctors or just doctors that lose their bedside manner. Dr Tharalson took his time and answered all my questions. Very happy with him.

Dr. Tharalson is great. He explains the issues and what needs to be done to address them. Cares about his patients, and has a good bedside manner too. Patient with my hard-of-hearing mom with Alzheimer’s. Office runs rather smoothly, a rarity these days it seems.

What you want in a physician: listens, generous with 1:1 time, thorough, relatable especially given common areas of therapeutic focus

Dr. Tharalson and his team are incredible. My favorite thing about Dr. Tharalson is that he has actively worked with me to treat my illness and has been incredibly patient, kind, and validating in moments when I was struggling with the diagnosis and/or treatment. Visiting a GI doctor was my first time and I didn't know what to expect. I have been having health problems because of the radiation treatment I recieved for my cervical cancer. Dr. Tharalson was prepared to talk to me on my visit, he read all my medical records. Discussed the possibilities of my intestinal issues. He was very thorough and patient and caring. I was in the Phoenix office, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Even though I was the last appointment of the day. Dr Tharalson was very attentive to my problems, he listened and offered solutions. I have seen him in the past, and I am very happy that I can see him now.

I met Dr Tharalson last week. I was very impressed with his knowledge and his ability to answer my many questions. I feel this Dr will give me the answers about my body, and if there are disease problems, he will accurately diagnose them and work towards healing them. Thank you Dr Tharalson.

Doctor has been a godsend. I have seen him several times. He is the one that caught my colon cancer and sent me to a very excellent surgeon. Gastrointestinal issues. Bloating constipation, hemorrhoids. Dr Tharalson listened to my issues order tests and took time to explain the results. I never felt rushed and he was will to answer any questions I had.

I found Dr. Tharalson on Health Grades.com and was glad I did. I feel confident to entrust my health in him. He advised 3 years ago that I have another colonoscopy in 3 years, so I and am going back for him for this procedure next month.

Excellent patient interaction - listens and interacts providing sound and understandable guidance. Very thorough in his explanations. Obviously very competent in his field, and shows sincere interest in me as a patient.

I have been seeing Dr. Tharalson for many years...he has been FANTASTIC he makes you feel at ease and never rushes your appt. Never have to wait long to see him. I wouldn't see anyone else.

Had a colonoscopy done by Dr Tharalson in 2017. Put my concerns at rest and couldn't have been more caring and nice. Very professional and took the time to explain everything. Going to see him again this summer for a repeat. Not sure what the other two reviewers are talking about but my guess is they complain no matter what.

If you time your time is less important than his ...go to him. I had an appointment at 330 arrived at 320 @ 334 was advised he would see me until all other patients were seen because they wanted to do paperwork that took me ONE Minute to complete. Let me ask why would I want my care under someone who treats his clients in this manner.

Dr. Tharalson has always been the best at communication. I've had many questions over the years, and he has always been there for me. Whether it's over the phone or in the office, he truly cares for his patients. He's professional, courteous, and always puts you at ease. I have Crohn's Disease, and he is very excellent at explaining his knowledge, (which is vast) in terms I can understand. He really deserves 10 stars, but 5 is the best I can mark here.
