Dr. Eugene A. Slocum

I read these reviews after seeing him today and most don't sound like the great guy who gave my back injection without any pain at all. All other staff were friendly and helpful also.

Dr. Slocum is an wonderful doctor and I have always had great experiences with him (and I've had many). I am opiate-intolerant and I suffer from chronic, often un-diagnosable pain. He always goes above and beyond to discover the sources of my pain and find innovative ways to treat it. Most importantly, he will not give up trying. Dr. Slocum is very sympathetic to my pain, listens to my complaints, and answers my questions thoroughly. I would highly recommend people with chronic pain, diagnosable or not, to consult Dr. Slocum. He will find a way to help you manage your chronic pain, in a compassionate and competent manner, regardless of what it takes.

I had a couple injections last week and Gene Slocum was awesome. He was very professional and expedient. Instant relief! I would definitely recommend his services! Thanks doc!

Absolutely horrible. Was transferred to him when previous Dr left. I've had 3 ankle surgeries and a back fusion surgery (mostly at his clinic) and never once asked for any meds or increase in dosage in almost 5 years. He randomly labelled me a "drug seaker" which was such a joke my insurance company contacted me 2 weeks later and offered me $25k to not sue. Worthless person.

My wife was the patient. I was with her the entire time of the exam. I have had EXTENSIVE dealings with orthopedic surgeons. I noticed some of the negative contacts above deal with people not being "patted on the head and made nice to." It is my experience the orthopedic doctors, in general, are direct and to the point. They do not fool around with wasting time with pleasantries. Dr. Slocum wnet directly to the point. Asked pertinent questions and did not rely on old information. Rather than reviewing old MRI info, he scheduled an updated MRI and treatment for the same day. He is direct and no nonsense. Will not waste your time or his.

I was told not to be late or miss my appointment because Dr. Slocum’s schedule is so important. Well, I was on time but not him. After 40 minutes I got up and left today. He was late for a 7:50am appointment, so I don’t even think he was in the building.

Does not understand compassion. Has no reason to treat patients. Left me on floor so I had to call Paramedics to help me up and out of the office. I am newly immobile and have anxiety. I can just get over it according to him.

I saw Dr. Slocum for the first time this week. Very impressed. very little waiting time if any. Staff was great really don't have any bad remarks very pleased.

Arrogant and misrepresents level of care after initial consult. Rude assistants, perfunctory consult, dismissive. He might be employed in Bozeman but would never cut it in a larger, more competitive city

There is no way to review anything from a personal visit, because many people cannot even get into see this physician. The office does not return phone calls even after referrals from multiple other providers and multiple calls from patients, this is from personal experience and also similar to experiences from several other people that I have talked to. If someone referrs you to this doctor, don't even bother, ask for someone else!
