Dr. Eugene G Brown

Literally sought out to make this review years later because the problems he brushed off, didn't want to listen to, told me everyone has these issues, uncaring, absolute something (like the other guy said) have led me to almost be in the ER. Avoid this place like the plague. Unfortunately however, if you're being referred from the military, this is your only option of where they'll send you.

I was seen as a new patient within hours after calling for an appointment. The staff is friendly and professional. My problem was diagnosed and resolved quickly. Great practice and look forward to becoming a long term patient.

Dr Brown was patient, caring & a true professional. His entire office staff is very professional. His office is very clean & I had no wait time at all.

Dr Brown was one of the worst experiences I have had with a specialist. After a hospital ER admin via ambulance from work, I was treated for what was serve vertigo and a migraine for over 10 hours, followed by three days in bed with control moderate symptoms. The ER doctor from MUSC who was excellent suspected a severe episode of Vestibule Migraine and referred me to DR Brown. I am a business owner and was a Registered Nurse for 19 years in critical care. After explaining to the Dr Brown my episode on Feb 6th 2019, and my family history of my mother who suffered from same symptoms of Vertigo, and had extensive work up and said she would never do that kind of testing again I then reported to Dr Brown, only three times in 10 years I experienced similar episodes with this episode being the absolute worst. I have long standing history of motion sickness in general in cars boats, airplanes, altitude and have used over the counter medications to avoid the intense dizziness and nausea. After that history was given I was meet with a share and no real response no dialogue but straight to the exam. Extremely impersonal , condescending manor throughout the short discussion in which I had to draw out of him information. He was not forth coming, he did offer test that I know I would not tolerate given my history. I Regardless ask then what would the testing entail. I said I know I would prove positive if turned and spun around and would not be in favor of evoking after only three days after my last episode. I then asked what else can do to prevent such a re-occurrence. He mention an antidepressant drug that might help and would have to take it daily. I said is that my only option and he said I can send you to a Neurologist and he would tell the same thing. I said I would like take it at a step down and take as need medication and the ones for motion sickness and nausea and would have on hand in case this condition were to re occur. They were effective in the ER under acute presentation of vertigo and nausea, so I would like to have that as a back up. These two drugs are not the addictive medications or a class of drug that would be of concern and he said NO !!!! that if I have this occur again just come to his office and he will fit me in. I had to be transported to the hospital I won't be going in that condition to his office. In the end, I had to remind him to remove the ear wax in my left ear, which apparently was extensive. He walked away , did not give me any advice, never said good bye , hope you continue to feel better, anything ! I then walk up to him at the nursing desk, and asked, are you done with me? He pointed to the check out desk. I will never return to such cold and rude treatment. I truly feel bad for anyone who ever were to encounter Dr Brown for help, guidance, or to simply care. AMAZING DOCTOR

Dr Brown preformed a very difficult Sphenoid Sinus surgery on my wife several years ago that other surgeons were unable to do. Another issue has developed and again she has turned her full trust towards Dr Brown for evaluation and potential surgery, she feels that he is the best ENT in our area.

Dr. Brown was completely unconcerned about my medical needs. He spent less than five minutes with me and brushed off my complaints as if nothing was even wrong. Complete prick. He then proceeded to offend my profession by asking how I even made a living doing that. Unprofessional, uncaring and obviously a doctor for the financial gain. I left his office without a diagnosis and with tons of questions. Don't waste your time or give him the honor of seeing another patient.

It was a horrible experience for my child. He damaged her ear drums to the point of 80-90% damage (meaning there were holes in both ear drums that were 80-90% of the size of her ear drum). It required reconstructive surgeries (by a different doctor) in order to fix the holes and hearing loss. This isn't the only time he has performed so poorly. I know of at least two other people that have had bad experiences. One has permanent damage that requires hearing aides. Awful!!

He is a wonderful Dr and I would recommend him to anyone......!!!!!!!

I went in for sinus surgery with Dr. Brown and he was so kind and his staff was amazing. The issues I was having are all but gone. The entire Charleston ENT group is a wonderful knowledgeable group of Physicians.

He is a great guy! He was easy to get along with and was very accurate with my diagnosis!
