Dr. Estil August Vance

He is a very knowledgeable doctor with a very good bedside manner. He is able to tell you everything you need to know and still make you feel comfortable. He saved my life and has kept me healthy through 2 bouts with cancer. His care and concern doesn't stop as soon as your out of the hospital like some other doctors. I would recommend him to anyone who is going through the hard road of cancer. He makes it easier and works his hardest to get you through the worst of it and gets you back on your own feet and living your best.

Having been treated by Dr. Vance for over a decade, I can say I have full trust in his and his team's professionalism and ability to achieve positive results.

I have a Ph.D. in Clinical Laboratory Science and want to say that Dr. Vance is one of the smartest physicians I've known or worked with. And this shows in him not only as an oncologist, but in areas of medicine and science not directly related to his subspecialty. His sub-sub specialty is blood and lymphatic cancer that he is treating me for. If you have one of these condition, I'm able to recommend Dr. Vance without any reservations. As a bonus, I love his affable personality.

Good at curing cancer, absolutely awful at aftercare. His staff is unorganized and getting a return call is almost impossible. Plan to wait at least a couple hours for an office visit. He seems to have almost no current knowledge of treating issues that are very common after a bone marrow transplant. Because of Dr Vance and his staff's lack of knowledge/care, my dad ended up passing away. He and his colleague kept prescribing my dad steroids and that ultimately led to his demise. Three months before his passing, we got him to a specialist at UTSW and she confirmed that his post bone marrow transplant care was completely incorrect and slowly killing him. Unfortunately,it was too late. As I said, he may be good at curing cancer, but go elsewhere for your post care. He's a terrible person and so is his NP. I have been seeing Doctor Vance for more than 10 years and he has never failed to take the time visit with my wife and I when we come in. He and his staff make us feel welcomed and take good care of us. He has become a friend as well as my doctor. He and his team did everything in their power and got rid of the cancer in my body. Dr Vance is the very best. He does the best he can to advocate for patients. One thing I would like to see is for him to answer questions. I'm stable now and so I don't really have any issues but when something comes up I would just like to know a little bit more about the plan and what he's thinking. His time is very short. When you're the best you're in great demand. The staff is wonderful. I want to put a plug in for Aiden Wooten Dr Vance's medical assistant. She's very good at listening. I'm very thankful for the care that I have received. It amazes me how well everyone seems to work together to deliver the very best of care that they possibly can even through the pandemic. Dr. Vance performed my unrelated stem cell implant in December, 2002. I see him every six months for follow up exams since that time. He is an EXCELLENT doctor. He listens carefully and is always interested in my life and my health.

Without a doubt the best Doctor my family has encountered. Always giving his best at treating my father. Very caring and understanding. Me and my family are very thankful to Doctor Vance for going above and beyond during a very hard time for us. Thank you Dr. Vance

Routine follow up there I had more symptoms than usual. He always takes his time and follows up as if he had no other patients to see!

Great and awesome

Dr Vance seems to have no current knowledge about treating patients that are in remission. He can cure the cancer, but go somewhere else for your after care!

Dr Estil Vance saved my life. I will forever be grateful to him. I was diagnosed with Leukemia the day I gave birth to my daughter. Dr. Vance told me day one, "We will get you squared" and he did. My daughter turns 13 in January. I wonder if Dr Vance remembers me, but either way I'll never forget him.

Sixteen years ago, Dr. Vance saved my life when he designed the treatment plan for my Bone Marrow Transplant. He is brilliant, compassionate, fun, and a great listener. Dr. Vance takes his time with every patient and does not leave the exam room until he has answered every question that a patient has. You may have to wait to see Dr. Vance past your appointment time, but it is always worth the wait. You will get the best individual care from Dr. Vance. I love going to see him!

Professional and answered all questions

He is amazing, he diagnosed my AML Leukemia in January 2014. I was so sick that he said without treatment I would maybe live 2 weeks. I've been through chemo and transplant and I am still going 7 years later. He has been a great doctor and friend since. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs him. He has a awesome bedside manner and will tell you straight up the truth in how to fix your medical issues.

Dr. Vance has a wonderful bedside manner. He is excellent at putting you at ease and explains everything in language that you can understand. He doesn't push unnecessary tests or medications, but won't hesitate to order a test if he feels it is needed. Grateful to have found him.

Dr Vance is an excellent Blood and Marrow Transplant Dr. I had my BMT on January 13th and I have had a few complications along the way, but Dr Vance and his team have met each one head on. Both he and his staff make you feel like family and they are very prompt about returning your worried phone calls no matter what time of day or night.

Dr. Vance has a wonderful bedside manner. He is excellent at putting you at ease and explains everything in language that you can understand. He doesn't push unnecessary tests or medications, but won't hesitate to order a test if he feels it is needed.

Dr Vance and his medical team are excellent. Always takes the time to fully explain lab results and trends.

Dr. Vance has been my moms oncologist for over 5 1/2 years through a stem cell transplant for ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic leukemia) I can’t say enough about this amazing man and his staff. He saved her life and we love him dearly. Plus his bedside manner is like taking to your best friend. I have never encountered a doctor, especially with his high level of specialty and training that takes the time to chat and laugh. Dr. Vance has been my doctor since 2012 when I received my bone marrow transplant. I appreciate how he runs his practice. He genuinely cares. And as a oncologist I consider him go be unexcelled.

Dr. Estil Vance is the most thorough physician I have ever known. I could not imagine going to any other doctor who would treat me for my condition. He is very personable and has quite a personality. He puts you to ease and let’s you know he is going to get you well. He wants all my other doctors be held accountable for the specialties in treatment of me. Great doctor and friend. Treats us like family every time we see him. He is very knowledgeable and works hard to continue his education and stay updated with everything going on in the world of medicine.

Dr. Vance is extremely personable and spends a generous amount of time with prospective patients. I am not a physician and I cannot judge qualifications, but if and when I need a stem cell transplant, Dr. Vance will be the man I go to for the treatment.

I would recommend Dr Vance. He is very knowledgeable and concerned for your health.

Dr Vance saved my life. I am here today watching my grandchildren grow up because of him and his staff. I had a stem cell transplant in 2012 and continue treatments at his clinic. Yes some people complain about him being behind schedule. What they don't understand is that's because he takes the time to answer every question and make sure you understand what is happening with your treatments. He really cares about every patient. I am so glad I was referred to Dr Estil Vance for my stem cell transplant. He is an extremely caring doctor, willing to spend time to answer all your questions. And he has a wonderful positive attitude which he is able to communicate to his patients. Never seen him impatient or too hurried even though he is very busy. Have met several of his patients and they all love him!

Dr Vance has been my son’s doctor for almost 5 years. He is wonderful! He cares for every aspect of your life, not just the cancer related part. He has a big heart, and spends a lot of time with his patients. Yes, that can cause him to run late to appointments, but that’s ok. I’d rather have a doctor that takes the time to actually listen and address all our concerns, than to have one rush in and out. My son is in great hands with Dr. Vance and I trust him completely!

This doctor and his nursing staff is a complete joke. He always runs very late. He speaks in terms the average person can not understand. If you call Texas Oncology all they can do is transfer you to the nurses station and no one EVER picks up the phone. You can leave a message but after leaving 5+ messages over several weeks no one has yet to call me back. Well, I did get one call back but she didn't have the answer, told me she would call the next day and never did. TERRIBLE!!!!!!
