Ernie Francis Soto

Dr. Soto provided a thorough initial consultation at no charge. He explained exactly how the procedure, that I needed, would be done. He said, if needed, they would do x-rays at this consultation, but it wasn't needed. The quote was a bit expensive, I thought, but I understand that some dentists quote low, then, when they get you in there, they tell you it will cost more. So, maybe Dr. Soto is more honest/realistic about the price up front. I am getting a few quotes, so I haven't decided yet, but I would definitely feel comfortable with this dentist.

I went to Dr. Soto’s office very reluctantly, as I have a terrible fear of the dentist; which has contributed to the current state of my dental health, unfortunately. I was in terrible pain, I made the appointment and I am so happy I did! What an incredibly empathetic, professional, and efficient team. Dr. Soto made me feel very comfortable, he agreed IV sedation for my procedure was the best course of action for my particular dental issues and I cannot thank him enough, he is an amazing doctor! To review Doctor Soto, it’s not what I could say wrong, but how I have to limit myself to what he has done right. I had suffered NUMEROUS serious dental problems from age 5 to age 45. Major dental disorders, braces for 10 years total, my list is painful. I have been to dozens of dentists (yes, dozens). In desperation, when living up north, I went to Harvard Dental School, and had a team of their teachers and even the Dean of Periodontology work for over a year to try to fix me. They made me WORSE! Greatest school (supposedly) in the nation, couldn’t fix me! By this time, all the typical fears we have of going to the dentist, in me they were exponentially raised to a psychotic level. Pain, bad doctors, failed procedures, constant oral deterioration with no end in sight. When I moved to SoFlo, my brother recommended his dentist, Doctor Ernie Soto. Great, another dental quack. However, I will try. Let me tell you, if ever there is a dental heaven, it is Doc Soto’s office. First visit, he viewed my mouth, saw the vast amount of issues, and immediately came up with a plan to save my mouth, and quite literally to save my very mental health as well. This ongoing dental fiasco was really causing me to feel run down. When you have no hope in sight, it makes one degrade. I went through multiple surgeries, all under fantastic dental sedation done very well (When Harvard did it, I kept waking up during it, with blood all over the place). My mouth eventually was put to a state where I have dental health for the first time since I was 5 years old. No more daily throbbing pain, no more constant procedures. Past a couple root canals, also done under dental sedation (Thank the good lord for dental sedation), my mouth is normal. My teeth are beautiful, easy to maintain, I eat normal finally. I actually can also smile for the first time in decades! From Jenny and all the fantastic dental assistants who assist Doc Soto, to Jennifer and the front desk crew welcoming you in, to Shannon the dental hygienist who cleans your teeth very gently, everyone surrounding Doc Soto just makes his office a place that one can literally call “A Safe Zone”. Any adult, any child, anyone can walk in, have Doc Soto check you out, give you a safe, proper, thorough status that is medically sound, procedures that can literally be pain free, and you can trust it. That speaks volumes to what I have experienced in my life with the dozens of quacks I have experienced. DOZENS!! I know this review sounds too gushing. Was it done by someone in his family masquerading as a patient? Did he give me free work in exchange for this? No on both. Amazingly friendly staff! Very knowledgable hygienist….. learned some new things and how to better care for my teeth and the usual ABCs. Doctor is extremely friendly, thorough, and logical, doesn’t force unnecessary treatments on you! Highly highly recommend!

I am one of those total dental phobic people that experience true physical reactions when entering a dental office. My blood pressure rises, my hands sweat, my heart races, and so on. I need a true dental emergency to usually get me to enter the doors of a dentist office. Just the smell starts the reaction. Because of this I sought out sedation dentistry and came across Dr. Soto‘s office. It was so comforting visiting their office they made sure that I was comfortable and at ease every single step of the way. From the caring and capable staff, including Adela (darling), to the lovely ladies at the front desk (Jennifer, hi) the EMT guys administering the sedation (shout out to Ralph who is so amazing and caring), to the head chief and captain steering the ship, Dr. Soto, this is an amazing team of professionals. I walk in and am always greeted with smiles and genuine concern. I have never waited longer than a few minutes and Dr Soto is never far behind to greet me. I had my teeth cleaned today and Arelis the hygienist did an exceptional job and has a wonderful personality. The staff of Dr. Soto is excellent. My favorite in his office is Aileen and I just can't say enough good things about her. Dr.Soto and his staff were recommended to me by a family friend, and I can definitely confirm it is the best referral i’ve ever received. I had an issue with a previous dentist that caused me so much pain at the worst time imaginable. Dr. Ernie Soto came to my rescue! He also makes it comfortable and the least painful process! I cannot stress enough how comfortable was my visit to Dr. Soto's office. As a new patient I was greeted with politeness and smiling faces (you could tell even when they were all using masks). Dr. Ernie Soto is very calm, friendly and very honest as I was offered what I needed. The staff composed of Jessica Lynnette, Jennifer, Megan, Diana have all a soothing tone of voice when speaking making me look forward in speaking to the whole staff again. Both English and Spanish are spoken making it a plus. Arelis did my basic cleaning perfectly with some suggestions of how to improve my denture hygiene procedure and also has a YouTube video on how to do so. The office was clean, neat and well designed with a nicest view I've seen yet. Every precaution for social distancing is taken into account giving a refreshing feeling of health safety. I had a dental emergency for a wisdom tooth extraction (that already had a crown). The staff was caring, friendly and helpful. Dr. Soto was about the nicest dentist I've met and took time to explain the sedation process (which was the reason I selected them) and how recovery would go. I was able to be completely taken care of by the end of the morning. It felt like being taken care of by family. Highly recommend the entire office. I have a few year history with Dr. Soto and for the first two years I would have given him 5 stars. That is until that my 15,000 new set of teeth would start to fall apart. After one such instance of loosing a molar cap from a gummy bear. I called to have it fixed. He said he needed to extract it and that he’d schedule it for the following week. Months passed, with several appts being rescheduled, he would cancel minutes before our appointment for “family emergencies” After a few months I finally had a day for my extraction. That morning I look at my phone and remember I have an appointment with little time to spare. I contact the office to be told..... Your appoint was for NOW, and your late. “ THE DOC SAYS YOU SOULD LOOK FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO HELP WITH YOUR EXTRACTION” i couldn’t believe what I was hearing after his countless reschedule costing me pain for over a month WAITING for him just to be told to call another office. I COULD OF DONE THAT IN THE BEGINNING! A month of anxiety and pain for no reason other than a doctor who loves to change appointments, did a half measure job to begin with and ended in the same fashion. Dr Soto had recommended Invisalign for my teeth. As an adult, I was happy to not have to get metal braces to help with my TMJ. The process for ordering was painless. The doctor and staff made molds of my teeth and then a week later I had my aligners. I have noticed a big difference in my teeth in only 3 weeks. The best part is I am not having jaw pain. The staff is very friendly, I can't say that enough. And not fake friendly, they are soo nice and empathic. I am the biggest baby when it comes to going to the dentist, so finding a doctor + staff that work well with that was important to me . Highly recommend you go see Dr. Soto for your dental needs.
