Dr. Erin Kathleen Harnish

Doctor Harnish was my childrens’ pediatrician from before birth into preteen. I moved my beautiful children to Alaska where working with Dr. Harnish was no longer feasible. The care she gave to my children and family was absolutely groundbreaking, effective and beautiful. My first child suffered ear infections from 1 month to toddlerhood, had to surgically have a cyst removed from her ear at a scary 4 weeks of age and through everything Dr. Harnish was supportive and willing to educate us on everything we could do to keep our children healthy. My girl moved onto her toddlerhood, very advanced in education and invited to speak on her own story with the Governor while working on a program Dr. Harnish knew would be imperative to help our Washington State Children. Her insight and passion to care for children must have been key in her development and participation of the “Safety Star of Washington State” program that Dr. Harnish was instrumental in inspiring success for. I don’t know how many bike helmets, car seats and poison awareness events they hosted. The number of families she and her cohorts must have helped in that effort could have been seen as nothing short of heroic. She shared the care of my children with her partners and R.N. who made it possible for our family to find help for any health or circumstantial issues that could have arose at any time day or night. My second child was so sensitive to foods he required a dietitian to keep him healthy. He was later diagnosed as having “classic autism,” an antiquated diagnosis we used for his underdeveloped frontal lobe condition is now termed ASD or autism spectrum disorder. Dr. Harnish helped us to find appropriate dietary information and resources to happily help him love education. She was instrumental in finding the team that could properly diagnose whatever we would discover was keeping my child from developing in an average way. He’s now a college graduate looking forward to his international education. He saves $ by tutoring average and special needs students in his former college that helped him earn his 1st degree. A degree he needed to satisfy his prerequisites necessary to study architecture internationally. Which would complete his educational and employment dreams. My third child Dr. Harnish cared for was an easy one. Aside from the common immunizations and well child checkups, she was fairly simple to keep healthy. She’s a beautiful and talented freshly 18yr. young lady. She’ll have plenty of time to decide where, between her many talents, does her passion translates into income. She’s a healthy little wisp with all her dreams forward and all of her supporters behind her with excitement. I feel very blessed to have had such a special experience with the medical team that worked together to keep my family ready for life. I would suspect that at this stage in Dr. Harnish’s career, I would guess her to have a full client load. However, if you find yourself so blessed to be considered as one of the families she’s willing to care for, I would jump on it. She really was just an absolute blessing to go through sickness, learning disabilities, and happy easy health. She has a refreshing bedside manner and was passionately interested is seeing our family succeed. Between the knowledge and care she gave us and the connections she had to connect us to the discovery of continuing care, she’s a gem. I’m excited and nervous to write this review. I know Dr. Harnish is humble and I hope she knows the love we post this with. My little family is now 5 kids big and Alaskan. I still wouldn’t be surprised if she was able to remember one of the first little families that got to work in love with her before she made her own. We’ll always appreciate Dr. Harnish and her partners at PEDS where our first introduction to regular health care and it’s benefits for children was born into my family.
