My husband went to see Dr. Bruce today to get a pain shot in his knee, as he has done in the past. He was told by Dr. Bruce’s staff that he could get another shot after April 1st. The nurse had everything set up, however, when Dr. Bruce came in, he informed my husband that he only gives the pain shot once a year and told him that the next time he needs to call him first because he wasted both of their time. Buddy, you may think that you’re above us, talking so rudely, but, if it wasn’t for us low life’s, you wouldn’t be living a lavish lifestyle. My husband will find a new orthopedic surgeon that will show him the respect he deserves. My husband went to see Dr. Bruce today to get a pain shot in his knee, as he has done in the past. I believe Dr. Bruce to be a very fine person, as well as an excellent doctor. I am very happy with the results of my double carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger surgery approximately a month ago. He is surrounded by great staff and facilities which made my first ever surgeries, age 73, much easier than I ever imagined surgery could be. Early next year I am going to trust him to repair my torn rotator cuff. Dr. Bruce has a great bedside manner, listens well, and describes your current situation in a very understandable manner. He reviews and clearly explains all your options, spending as much time as necessary until he believes you have a 'good grasp' of your situation and possible remedies. I never feel rushed or any kind of pressure into making a decision. He offers you to think it over and come back to discuss again if you feel you need more time to contemplate your situation. His main Medical Assistant, Roxann Diaz, is outstanding, easy to deal with, and very efficient.....keeps the office running smoothly. All in all, I can't say enough good about my whole experience with the first surgery in my 73 years of life. I'm very happy to have found Dr. Bruce and the great organization he has to support him....and of course his patients!!

Dr. Bruce is an awesome & caring Dr. Takes time to explain in detail without rushing. Has time for all of your questions. It's so nice to have an individual dr. rather than a large group to address your needs. Roxann is also great. Patience of a saint no matter how many times you call.

Dr. Bruce is amazing. I was looking at surgery w/long recovery for a shoulder issue without knowing what they would be doing. I sought Dr. Bruce as a 2nd opinion. He quickly identified it as an injury that could be easily addressed by a chiropractor. 1 month later I was no longer in pain and that was 3 years ago. I returned for a knee issue and he quickly diagnosed and treated me. So nice to have a dr. who listens to your concerns and doesn't put cutting/surgery as his first option!!!!

We would absolutely recommend Dr. Bruce to everyone we know! We met with three different surgeons and solicited many opinions from others before we even met with Dr. Bruce. As soon as we met him we knew he would be the one whom we trusted with our 15-yr old daughter’s ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair. He has a great bedside manner, is completely honest, takes the time to thoroughly explain everything and answer all your questions. We are blessed to have had a wonderful experience with him.

I saw Dr. Bruce for the first time last year after a pretty bad experience with a different doctor. Right from the beginning I knew I had made the right choice. Tracy was my first point of contact and she was so sweet and got me in quickly. Dr. Bruce was amazing. I have now been to him for two separate rotator cuff repairs on both arms and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dr. Bruce takes his time and explains thing and let's you know what to expect. He's got a great personality and let's you know how it is, which I really appreciated. After I found out I needed my other arm done I didn't hesitate to go right back. I'm only a couple of months out of surgery on my right arm and it's feeling amazing. My left arm is pretty much back to 100%. And the whole staff is just wonderful. They treat everyone like family. You always get a smile and some kind of conversation/acknowledgment, even if they are busy. It's honestly too bad that other doctors office can't be like this one. I have now been several times and each visit has been top notch. I will use Dr. Bruce for all of my future needs (though hopefully I won't have that many..lol) I saw Dr. Bruce for the first time last year after a pretty bad experience with a different doctor. Dr. Bruce and Staff, When I first wrote this note I was still working through the physical therapy portion of the shoulder repair that you began in late April of this year, I have since completed physical therapy and realized that I have not posted this note as I had intended, for that I am sorry, for this testimonial and note of thanks are long overdue. If I may, I would like to briefly recap why I sought your help for the benefit of any who might read this note and testimonial, and also to help them understand why I feel it important to write about my experience with you and the healing that has taken place. When I came to your office for the very first time, I was in severe pain. I had injured myself in such a way, that I had torn the bicep in my right arm, and worse yet, I believed that I had also torn the rotator cuff in my right shoulder as well, generally undoing a previous surgery which was completed years before to repair it. Needless to say, I was messed up. My range of motion was severely compromised, I couldn't sleep at night from the pain, and simple day to day tasks were painful and sometimes even impossible to do. To add to it, all these limitations were affecting my performance at work. Now, as they say the rest of the story. From the moment I first met you I could tell that you were a compassionate and caring Doctor, but also one who is straight forward, which I appreciate, and also one that is not going to take any others evaluation at face value before you had studied the problem and arrived at your own conclusion, finding that you either agree, or disagree with their finding. So with that said, you heard my complaints of pain, and yes, even my evaluation of my own needs, as well as what I thought needed to occur for treatment , and in addition, the opinion, albeit somewhat out of date by another Doctor, and set about making your plan to help me regain my health. That plan included a thorough exam, some further diagnostics through imaging, a reminder that not every issue is resolved through surgery, and some interim medication to help control the pain. A quick word about the medication, the medication that you prescribed for me was in the form of a medicated cream, of your own formula, and compounded a local compounding pharmacy, not a heavy narcotic pain killer which often leaves one with dulled senses. I would have bet money that a topical cream would have not worked, as had been my previous experience, but yours did, and I got significant relief instantly once I began using it, and I mean significant relief! I completed the imaging studies and we met again to discuss what was determined. I recall that after reviewing the studies that you concluded in this case surgery was indicated, however I also recall that because of the extensive damage you were concerned about the amount of gain the surgery would net, and cautioned regarding expectations of mobility and pain reductions. I most especially recall that you told me that you could give a whole lot of technical jargon to explain my medical condition; you however instead, simply told me that in Laymen's terms, "You are all jacked up." Now that is something I understood very clearly. As indicated, the surgery was performed in late April, and we are now at September 1st, and I have completed physical therapy now and I cannot believe how much progress I have made. My range of motion is nearing all that I had prior to my injury, not to mention that I am pain free. I sleep well at night, and my life has for all intents and purposes have returned to normal. Dr. Bruce, you and your entire staff have always treated me with the utmost consideration, care, kindness, respect, and of course extremely skilled medical advice and care, and I have every confidence that anyone who seeks treatment with you would also receive the same. I know that it is not enough for all you have done, but please accept my sincerest thanks. I first went to Dr.Bruce to get a second opinion on a torn ACL and medial meniscus in my right knee. Upon first meeting the staff and then Dr.Bruce I pretty much knew this was the guy I wanted to go with, he was upbeat and you could tell he loved what he does. He then informed me that I was great candidate for the quad acl harvest (made famous by Dr.X) and that was exciting to hear, he would also be able to do a meniscus repair instead of the common meniscectomy. I had my surgery performed on August 7, 2015 with no issues or complications. It was nice to be reminded what a great Dr visit is like. Dr Bruce was very helpful, kind, and understanding of the pain I was in. I had a very bad experience with a different clinic and I am so grateful I found Dr Bruce. After my initial check in, I dealt with Dr Bruce the entire time. I was honestly a little shocked at how long he spent with me. I was thinking I must have been his last appointment or something, but he was busy. He had an emergency surgery that morning, so they were very backed up. I did wait longer than I wanted, but I am not even dinging a star for that. It was so worth the wait. After the other Dr.'s misdiagnosis of my knee over a month ago, I finally know what is wrong and what my course of action is. I nearly had a little bit of an emotional moment because I have been so in the dark about this injury. Also, I don't have insurance and he did several things to discount me. He even gave me a knee brace at his cost. Very nice guy, very good Dr. It was nice to be reminded what a great Dr visit is like. I tore my ACL back in April and Dr.Bruce was highly recommended by a few of my brother firefighters. Upon first meeting him I knew this was the guy that I would trust to operate on me. He actually listened to my concerns and my goals in returning back to the engine and sport. He gave me a few options on how he could repair my knee and then asked if I would like to hear about a fairly new procedure. This is where I was first introduced to a quad tendon harvest procedure. He explained the benefits of using my own quad tendon rather than my hamstring tendon. The only catch was that I would be his first patient EVER that he would do the quad tendon harvest on. Dr. Bruce explained that he had been waiting on the right patient that fits the criteria for the procedure. I left the office that day with some information to research and would return the next week with a decision. Little did he know but I made my decision in the parking lot that first day. Dr. Bruce seemed so excited to talk to me about the procedure and confident of a successful result how could I not let him do it. On May 21st I had surgery and was walking that next day!! Everything went better than expected and my PT was amazed on the immediate stability and healing. I highly recommend Dr. Bruce and his staff. Dr. Bruce was more than amazing when it came to my treatment, this encompassing everything from when you enter the door of his practice to the last follow up visit months down the road. From the get go Dr. Bruce showed a personal interest in my injury and concerns and seeking out what was the best options for getting me back to 100%. We discussed a couple of options for me, and I do say we discussed, vs other doctors just telling you what they are going to do without your input. Surgery ended up being the right fit for me and my shoulder, which my major problem was a labral tear, big enough he was able to fit a one of the surgical tools into it. Surgery went great even with once he got into the middle of it finding out the tear was more extensive than shown in the MRI. Post op he spoke with my wife and informed her that what he thought was going to be just a 6 week recovery was going to be more like a 4-6 month one now due to the damage he found inside. I was in my brace for 6 weeks and then onto rehab and what I would call a very rapid recovery back to full duty of work, faster than both Dr. Bruce and I ever anticipated. I'm a Firefighter and use of my shoulder is key in every aspect of my job, no short cuts, and I can say its equal if or not better than my non injured shoulder. I could go on and on about my experience, but if you take anything from this, know that Dr. Bruce is there for you, your not another number. From the pleasantness and professionalism of his staff, to his skills and concerns of you and your health, hes more than just another Doctor/Surgeon, he makes it his personal duty to get you better. I'm a health care practitioner who owned a private practice for 30 years. I know good staff, good procedures and good docs when I see them. This place has them all, in spades! The staff is personable, friendly and professional. You can tell they get along, enjoy their work and have been trained in how to deal with patients properly. They did not call me, a 63 year old, by my first name. That respect is something I appreciated. They communicated clearly and did not ask me a bunch of questions I had already answered on the intake form. Since I was paying my own bill, they did not require I undergo "standard" tests prior to seeing the doctor. Dr. Bruce quickly diagnosed my knee problem without those standard tests and explained my options. He did not recommend surgery as a first option - imagine that from a surgeon. He sat patiently and answered all my questions. He even answered questions I hadn't thought to ask. I was initially a bit perturbed about the 45' wait, but at the end of the exam Dr. Bruce apologized that I had been scheduled on a Wednesday afternoon. That's when they do their free work on kids with injuries, and there had been more kids than usual that day. I couldn't be mad after he told me that, I could only be impressed. I was referred to Dr. Bruce by a friend in the medical community after suffering a knee injury. An urgent care doctor had diagnosed a patella fracture after an X-ray and several friends and family encouraged me to see an orthopedist. I am so glad that I did as there was no fracture . Rather than keeping my leg straight and not moving it for 7-10 days (urgent care doctors orders), I began to immediately introduce gentle range of motion. 2 weeks later, I am back to 90% activities.

Dr. Bruce has treated me for some 3 months and I love his approach to treating me. I truly believe he cares about the whole patient and not just the piece he fixed. He asks about how the family is taking the news of my issues and listens when I speak about it. My daughter had seen three other orthopedic doctors. She had two knee procedures done by one of them. She was still having a lot of pain and they told her nothing was wrong. When she saw Dr. Erik Bruce he knew right away what was wrong with her. And now has no problems with it at all. We are very very pleased with Dr. Bruce and his staff. I would highly recommend him. Dr. Bruce listened to my concern about my injured shoulder and then asked very direct questions to get to the exact location and degree of my injury. He discussed my options with me in a logical and patient manner. After discussing options and deciding on which to take he performed the procedure in his office explaining what he was doing and doing it with care and concern for my comfort. I was very pleased with the plan we came up with and am already felling relief from some of my discomfort, expecting it to get better as I follow the plan he laid out for me. I will recommend Dr. Bruce to anyone that I know that is needing an excellent Orthopedic Physcian. We have known Dr. Bruce for years; since when he first opened his office in Round Rock. He has taken care of my husband and myself. Dr. Bruce has done surgery on my husband as well as helping him to walk longer with knee injections; putting off a knee replacement. Our experience with Dr. Bruce and his whole office staff if one of family. They go above what you would expect of a physician AND staff these days. We appreciate all of them and are thankful we found them. We have known Dr. Bruce for years; since when he first opened his office in Round Rock. He has taken care of my husband and myself. This man was extremely rude and sarcastic. He made me feel like a nobody unworthy of his attention. He acted like my injury was nonexistent and that I was just an old nobody. FIND ANOTHER PHYSICIAN-FIND ONE WHO CARES ABOUT PEOPLE. This one does not. I left his office in tears. It was like he was kicking a wounded animal.
