Dr. Eric M Wallen

Cursory exam. Missed diagnosis. Too impressed with himself. Another provider ordered appropriate tests to make diagnosis and recommend successful operation.

He is an excellent surgeon. He does not take kindly if one challenges him. He had just come from surgery. I know that it takes time to transition. It was understandable that he was confused & told me that I had COPD (which I did not have) when I had asthma. What wasn't understandable was the attitude that he cocked with me then (when I corrected him) & on the day of the surgery when I told him I almost didn't recognize him with his surgeon's cap on. He got testy with me which was unsettling right before surgery. At other times, he was what one would expect in the way of a physician-patient relationship. I have other other major surgeries--including an amputation, & none of my surgeons behaved like that. I think he held it against me that I corrected him but it was important to do so. I felt very uneasy with the varying attitudes exhibited so I switched to another doctor in another hospital. He did do a good job when it came to the surgery itself. I have a mixed review.

I believe Dr Wallen is one of the finest doctors in his field. He has taken great care of me and i would recommend him to anyone. Trust me, its worth the drive to be under his care.

Highly recommend. Eric Wallen, M.D. is an outstanding provider that is knowledgeable, caring, candid and direct. He is on top of the latest information (and mis-information) related to prostate cancer. This enables him to provide patients with vital scientific medical data which allows us to make a balanced and informed decision. - Regarding what course of action is appropriate.
