Spent very little time with me, Continued my prescription without question even though it was apparent something was very wrong as my behavior changed significantly. Would not answer questions and became incensed when he was unable to answer questions as I was advised to contact Dr. Siggin, the clinic director, who also refused any answers.

Contributed significantly to ruining my life. Allowed me to become a Ritalin addict on his watch when I was a Yale senior. Just kept on upping the dosage without really probing into how I was doing. Typical short session with a rushed doctor who basically would ask "are you doing OK?" and then give me more medication when I would say " I feel it's not working as well." Also did not notice I was drunk and high most of our sessions and was clearly an alcoholic/drug addict. I would come in increasingly disheveled and there was no comment--I guess he figured it was "normal college stuff" to tailgate EVERY DAY and to lose tons of weight and let your physical appearance steadily degrade? I was under the impression, based on other students' testimonies, that this guy was a real stickler for proper monitoring of controlled substances. I knew two people whom he had rejected for ADD scrips, so I admit I figured I REALLY had to lay it on thick. I recited lines about ADHD taken STRAIGHT FROM A TV COMMERCIAL ("the chanel keeps changing in my head.") Not sure if that should have been a warning sign or something a mental health professional should be trained to notice, but it did seem ridiculously easy compared to what I expected. Meanwhile, I was snorting rails of Ritalin in the hospital bathroom and spending most of my time worrying about having a heart attack. I would try to hang out with people and act normal but i was freaking out 24/7. I But I was addicted, I couldn't stop, and didn't want to lose my prescription. I made up TONS of stories about losing pills, etc. and he just bought all of them without question. I would come in every weekend to the emergency room to BEG for a couple extra pills. I was even caught forging a scrip by a pharmacists but was not reported to my doctor or to the authorities--honestly, I wish I had been suspended, expelled, hospitalized, etc. Almost anything besides the months of ritalin addiction/borderline amphetamine psychosis that lead to months of xanax addiction that lead to years of psych meds that lead to more problems than I started with and a greater reliance of marijuana than ever. It's my fault for not taking time off when I started to get really depressed/depressed about Yale being a waste/generally disillusioned/tired. I should have just checked myself into a mental hospital, but I was scared. It's my fault for letting myself be convinced by my peers that snorting them would be awesome. For the record, it wasn't awesome--imagine the most unpleasant parts of other stimulant drugs being pretty much the ONLY effects. He also referred me to another doctor whose name I can't remember, but that guy sucked too. Contributed significantly to ruining my life. Allowed me to become a Ritalin addict on his watch when I was a Yale senior. Just kept on upping the dosage without really probing into how I was doing. Typical short session with a rushed … More
