Eric A Gershman

I have been seeing Dr. Gershman for 2+ years following Whipple surgery for pancreatic cancer. He is a wonderful oncologist, caring, easy to talk with, answers questions...and very busy! He is leaving OptumCare, and I am really unhappy. I can only hope his replacement treats me as well.

When I originally read the reviews for Dr. Gershman two years ago, I was hesitant to see him. But after our first meeting and many appointments after, I was so glad to have had him as my oncologist. He was patient, answered questions, and was very caring. I found out today he would be leaving and that saddened me. I'm glad I took the chance on him and not depend on the opinions of others.

Not good! A lot of the staff are very rude and not impressed with the doctor. Felt like my mother's appointment were a waste of time - doctor keeps answering a question with "well she IS 88" (repeated many times). Not expecting miracles. Unable to get a referral that was "ordered" 2 months ago. Have called several times and only one apology that it has not been sent yet. So angry after my last phone call that I decided to write this review.

Very poor bedside manner. Did not acknowledge me when he entered the room. Spouted statistics about side effects of radiation and hormone treatment. Did not know that I already had surgery. Was very unaware of my medical history. Rude. This was one of the most uncomfortable doctors appointment I’ve ever had. Would not recommend this physician.

Very nice. Sits down and talks to his patients. Informative & easy to talk to. Knowledgeable. Came by my hospital room to check on me. I like him and I feel confident that I can trust him.

Pick another oncologist! My husband was referred to Dr. Gershman by another radiology oncologist for his opinion on my husband's prostate cancer. The first appointment my husband had with him for an "evaluation" was very unsatisfactory. The doctor refused to let me sit in on the session (using COVID as an excuse, although I was equipped with mask, gloves and had just been covered in hand sanitizer). The second appointment, to review the PET scan never happened because the Doctor once again refused to allow me in the room to discuss the treatment. He is definitely not interested in his patients. He didn't even leave his cubby to come out to talk to us; he sent staff to patronizingly explain why he wouldn't allow my husband's wife to attend the appointment. FYI -- we have had several appointments with other doctors during this pandemic and all have allowed both of us in the room for the appointment.

Great Doctor! Cares, concerned, very thorough. Takes care of Heath Issues. Total Professional.

I am a new patient, recently diagnosed with leukemia. I was in shock because I had no symptoms and the news came out of nowhere. Dr. Gershman had excellent bedside manners when he brought the news. He sounded very calm, knowledgeable, patiently explained all options and treatments and responded to all my questions (and there were many). I am following treatments with him at the Optum Care in Henderson and so far he' s been very helpful, so has all the staff. Thank you!

I would not recommend Dr. Gershman. He is standoffish and doesn't like to be questioned. I honestly do not understand how he can be an oncologist when his patients deteriorate before his eyes and he does nothing. We went to him for treatment and they hadn't even called the insurance company in advance to have the treatment approved. If you want to have a change at beating cancer, pick someone else. We made big mistake

Dr Gershman scheduled me for a bone marrow biopsy, PET/Cat scan, echo gram. After he reviewed the results said I had CLL/SLL B cell Lymphoma, stage 4. Said I need chemo 2 days every 3 weeks for 6 months. That I have a 70% chance of cure. Scheduled me to get a port implanted in my chest, then start chemo. On the first day of chemo, I was told Dr Gershman is no longer working there, Left the State. I was never informed. The new Doctor said i DIDN'T need chemo! There's more but out of characters.

My experience with Dr. Eric Gershman was excellent. He is an extremely caring individual and clearly explained my course of treatment, he took his time, and did not rush. He let me ask lots of questions. He answered all of them. His staff was also very attentive and easy to work with.

This is the worst dr and officce i have ever witnessed. I dont know how he could possibly get all these 5 stars except of course since i am black that could make the difference. He had prescribed a cancer med that i need to take asap. The insurance had approved the med and asked the drs office to fax the prescription. Its been 5 days going back and forth with no luck. The pharmacy would place us on a 3 way call to reach Chrysta or office mgr, they would place on hold or hang up on us. worst dr
