Mr. Emmanuel Nwapa

Dr. Nwapa was condescending and accusatory when my child was in the midst of a mental health crisis. He suggested changing my child’s medication without having a full scope of their current medication, was unhelpful with inquiries about the child’s care, and was extremely dismissive of concerns around my child’s care. Both my child and I were very disappointed by our interactions with Dr. Nwapa.

Where do I start… Firstly, NEVER GO TO THIS ‘PSYCHIATRY’ ‘ESTABLISHMENT’ !!!! UTTERLY HORRIBLE AND NONEXISTENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I called and told this ‘establishment’ I’m running late for my appointment. We all know how Vegas traffic is.. The nurse who answered the phone only said, “we can’t see you.” Hearing these words hurt me. She gave no further explanation. Offered no other appointment. Even over the telephone, she had an attitude. ‘NURSES’ NEED ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES. They have NO CONTROL or CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS. I am still in shock that these ‘nurses’ couldn't keep their calm while talking with me. No matter how a customer/patient talks to you, you SHOULD always speak with respect. ESPECIALLY IN THE MENTAL HEALTH FIELD. You all should be ashamed of yourself. You all have no self-control I advise you to start meditating, it has helped me a lot (: THE ‘DOCTOR’ WHO CONFRONTED ME LOOKED AT ME LIKE I WAS CRAZY, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. You know who you are.. You let me down. You were speechless. Offered me no help or encouragement. You did not correct your nurses to calm down when speaking to a mentally unstable person. This makes me question why you chose this profession. As you are unprofessional and cannot handle the people you ‘want to help’ What do people do when they are hurt? They cry, scream, yell, raise their voice, they might even run away.. Think of that the next time a hurting patient walks threw your doors. No ‘NORMAL’ human is going to walk threw your doors. You chose to be in the mental health field, act accordingly. I did not choose to be depressed since I was 14… I came to you guys for help and you let me down. I will be contacting the BBB. OH I ALMOST FORGOT, The nurse at the front desk allowed me inside the medical space without first asking for my information. This is extremely concerning... What if someone with bad intentions did the same thing. It was so easy for me to get past the front door without answering any questions. This is a safety hazard.. This shows you do not care about your job, or the safety and well being of others.

I’ve been a patient of doctor Nwapa’s for many many years….. I’m not an adolescent I’am in my 60’s…..he saved my life on several occasions….. I think his bed side manner is awesome when you consider how many patients the doctor has!!! No matter what he always seems to have time to answer questions, and go over medications…..I like him and so does my family, that’s important!!!

We were seeing Dr Nwapa for my son and then switched to Cindy when she came. We have had a great experience with both Dr.’s. Would highly recommend this practice. Only issue I’ve ever had is when they switched offices. But they are back on it!

Great practice, location is beautiful, office staff is great, office manager is amazing. They get things done. The review about the Dr Wife running the practice is so wrong, she is very thoughtful, patient, they follow up on missed calls. She is running the practice the right way. It’s a new location, different office staffs than the previous office.

His assistant Cindy is awesome! His wife, Chenway, is rude and obnoxious. He has her running the office and hangs up on clients multiple times and gives an attitude. When it comes to my child and medication, this “lady” is interfering with medical treatment!!! Then when I finally got someone to actually help me, they didn’t want to make my daughter’s appointment to speak with the doctor!!!!! Sucks when insurance only covers certain offices. Plus, why do they need your home address to make an appointment with a doctor my daughter has seen for years?!?!?!

If I could give this doctors office 0 stars I would Pretty much just a pill pushing doctorThat really doesn’t do anything but prescribe and boot you out of the appointment no real therapy or even if the medication is really even working. All the staff is horrible lazy and rude if you need a prescription called in it takes them a week with multiple calls to the office. And forget about medical records the medical records lady is lazy and rude AS HELL...And they are denying me medical records That are mine. I have been waiting for a medical release form to be emailed to me for three days now and it still has not been done and I explain to them that we were in a mental health emergency with my child and they just ignored my request for medical records. Then I was told I could come up to the office and fill out the release form in person and give it to them so when I went up there I was told that I was rude and disrespectful and that they weren’t going to give me my medical records because I was rude and disrespectful even though I had been waiting for 72 hours for somebody to send me a medical release form that I still have not gotten but I try to explainThat we were having a mental health emergency and I would really appreciate the records to be done in a timely fashion and they told me that I could not have them. Dr. Nawapa and his staff are neglecting and abandoning their minor patients all because their staff wants to pick fight and argue and yell with the parents. I will have to report them to the state for denying me my medical records. Bottom line is there is definitely a better more productive friendly dr. and staff combination then Dr. Nawapa and his rude staff at Central psychiatry. They will not help your child and they will try to argue and yell with the parent or adult.

Dr. Nwapa was condescending to his patient throughout the visit. He interrupted repeatedly and made rude and inappropriate remarks about the patient's competency while in the room with him. He has clearly given up on this youth and delivered treatment in that way. It might be helpful if Dr Nwapa did his own therapeutic work because he may be burnt out, and if that's not the case, I worry that whatever is going on with him, is overflowing into his ability to practice with compassion. At this time, he is clearly ill equipped to work with youth who have complex diagnoses or prognoses. I can only imagine his work with other vulnerable populations and would not feel safe taking a loved one to him for care.

i cannot believe the low reviews just because he overlaps with his time...Its because he is patient and he is a very good doctor who cares about all of his patients..He will give you extra time if needed....My son is his patient and the Dr motivated him and made him feel comfortable, greatly, miraculously, because of his concern and patience...I do understand that a 10 minute wait may seem like one hour to a client who is looking forward to speaking with him...I appreciate Dr. Nwapa so much

You would think they would give you a courtesy call before your appointment or pick up the phone when you call.

Great doctor! He tries to put you on what you need and works with you to get off of what you don't want or need. He is not big on using benzos because he has seen so much withdraw and dependence in the hospital setting. He watches side effects and does education on new meds. Wait times can be a problem at times but he is worth the wait!

Excellent Dr. Great listener and explains what is needed to be done to get back on track. Would recommend him for your Dr. if your seriouse on getting some help...
