Dr. Emily L Richie

I moved to another state and have had a hard time finding a doctor for what would be me, an older patient. I always miss the times I was Dr Richies patient in SF. She is stellar, the best. She has VAST knowledge in so many medical situations. She has wisdom as well.

I have seen Dr. Richie for several years at the UCSF California Street practice. She is very thorough, and an exceptionally good and patient listener who is very accepting of patient suggestions. Having multiple chronic conditions I am frequently sending her messages with questions which she or her NP answer soon afterward. Since I am feeling lucky that Dr. Richie is my PCP I recommended her to my closest friend who is feeling about his care as good as I do.

Dr Ritchie fails to listen to the concerns of her patients. I had brought in previous blood work, lack any family history and requested routine blood work as part of an annual physical. She still did not order the tests (which are 100% covered as part of a preventative exam) citing "rising insurance premiums". She did not perform a breast exam nor did she examine me for suspicious moles. Her exam was cursory while being condescending toward me.
