Dr. Ellie J.C. Goldstein

Dr. Goldstein was critical in my recovery from severe illness, and hospitalization. He is caring, brilliant and cautious and I knew I was in good hands during a 6 day hospital stay. My other doctors deferred to his judgement. I feel lucky to have been assigned to him when I arrived at the hospital.

Big doctors ego, bitchy front office, so if you are really ill, and want to feel worse this is the place to go.

Dr. Goldstein is a brilliant, engaging, caring, expert in his field. He will spend whatever time is necessary to determine what ails you and how to treat it. He is open and honest about your condition and how best to deal with it. His humanity is evident even after a brief meeting with him. I can not imagine dealing with a better physician, I am lucky to have had him as my treating physician under difficult circumstances.

Excellent physician who is very knowledgeable. Brought my grandmother, my mom, and even myself to see him. I trust my family with him.

Dr. Goldstein is a genius angel as well a great and compassionate man. He saved my life back in 1995. He diagnosed me with Erlichiosis when all the other specialist had tested me for various illnesses and infections and had told my husband to start making contingency plans. He essentially asked me the same questions as all the other specialists until the last question which was, « Have you been in the North East recently? » I told him that I had returned from Canada 10 days prior and he instantly told me that I had Ehrlichiosis. To date, it had only been on the East coast and hence, I was the first case on the West coast. Seventeen years later, I had an uncontrollable fever and was not getting well despite having been to both my G.P. And UCLA Emergency, where they had given me an X-ray to check for pneumonia and reported that my lungs were clear. I called Dr. Goldstein on the Thursday afternoon of Thanksgiving weekend. He saw me that afternoon and then called several times over the weekend to check up on the state of my fever. After the weekend, when the fever had not subsided, he looked up my UCLA X-ray and immediately saw that UCLA radiology had missed seeing a spot on my lung. I did in fact have pneumonia. Dr, Goldstein is one of the finest doctors in his field. He saved my life 23 yrs ago and he's on it again today. I feel like I know a genius angel, and He will always be the best 'go to' IDS !!!

This Dr. is one of the most unprofessional, rude people working in healthcare that I have ever encountered. He does not follow up with his patients, refuses to order labs resulting in multiple hospital stays, and yells over the phone at his patients. His receptionist is extremely overworked and takes it out on the patients. It's disheartening to see this type of behavior in a field in which one expects professionalism at the least. I strongly recommend finding another physician.

This is, without a doubt, the most knowledgeable, smartest, most intuitive doctor I've ever experienced. He saved my life. I wish I could give him 100 out of 5 stars. He's the best of the best. His receptionist, Judy, is also fantastic.

Dr. Goldstein was instrumental in my recovery from an extended bout of severe illness, including hospitalization. His attentiveness to detail, his caring demeanor, his vast knowledge and experience, gave me a great deal of confidence at a time when I wasn't sure I was going to make it through. All of the other doctors involved deferred to his judgement, and rightfully so. Nothing but great things to say about Dr. Goldstein.

There is no one better in Infectious Disease! I have been a patient for several years with multiple staph infections in a replaced knee. Though the staphs have been stubborn, Dr. Goldstein has kept them under control leaving me almost pain free. He is caring, brilliant and up on all the latest in his field.
