Is there a zero option!? Do yourselves a favor and switch to UT! CMF is the most unorganized group I’ve ever seen!
First time meeting- felt comfortable and relaxed and felt like she listens. I think she has been in the shadows too long- I recommend her
Dr. Walraven is worst doctor I have ever been to. She is very rude and does not listen to anything I have to say. She jumps to conclusions. She misdiagnosed a major problem that ended up with me having surgery. She has always been very unprofessionally dressed. She will leave you sitting in the examination room while she states she will be working from her office. I was talking to her and in the middle of my conversation she just threw her hands up in the air and walked out of the room. This left me sitting there in the room alone. I am surprised Christus Mother Frances keeps her on staff. I would not recommend her to anyone.
My father is hemiplegic and has cellulitis in his paralyzed leg. She gave off the impression that she didn’t even want to be in the room both times we took him in for this condition. She did not take any measurements of the redness and swelling. After he completed the antibiotics she prescribed and it wasn’t better, we took him back. I asked if he needed IV antibiotics and she told me, and I quote “if you don’t think this is enough you ca take him to the ER but I will not do any more.” When we asked about increasing his home health she told us we should do more as a family. Seeing her was a horrible experience for my dad, my siblings, and me.
For almost 4 years I have been a patient of Dr. Ellen Walraven's and have been very pleased with every aspect of her care. With the busy schedule doctor's consistently face it is unusual to find a doctor with such a kind and compassionate demeanor. She truly listens to my concerns and, then using her medical expertise, prescribes the best plan of care. I am grateful for her care always. Thank you Dr. Walraven!
There seems to be a trend here.... I wish there was a "no stars" option. My mother is currently positive for COVID and was hospitalized 18 hours after confirmed positive. She was hospitalized at Dr. Walraven's hospital she's associated with (very convenient) and SHE NEVER CHECKED ON HER ONCE. She was diagnosed with COVID pneumonia and was going to be sent home WITH NO MEDICATION. I had to call the nurses desk and beg for my mother (49 years of age) to be sent home with at least Azithromycin. Thankfully, she was sent home with a Z-Pac. I can't help but think if Dr. Walraven would have come to lay eyes on my mother then she would be better by now. Today is Day 12 for my mom and JUST YESTERDAY-- she had a virtual visit with Dr. Walraven after SEVERAL EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS were made by my mother. She was experiencing low oxygen levels, crackling in her chest and weakness and fatigue that was at times, unbearable. I hope and pray my mom fully recovers. There seems to be a lack of care.
Left messages for Dr walraven 2 days in a row. No response! Called back later on the second day have been on hold for 46 minutes now! This is ridiculous and lack of caring for established patients. Walraven also put an incorrect diagnosis on the chart preventing us from moving my mom to another facility. Dr Hussain was the same way. Our experience with Dr's at the Douglas center has been riddled with mistakes and unprofessionalism. Not recommended!
My husband and I are Dr. Walraven's patients. She is welcoming, kind, caring, listens carefully to our concerns, takes time with us and explains conditions/ tests/lab results. We have always had a positive experience with Dr. Walraven! The receptionist and nurse are friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.
If I could give no stars, I would. I saw Dr. Walraven the beginning of November to establish care because I needed to move my primary doctor from Dallas to Tyler. I thought she was nice. I went back to see her 6wks later for some concerns and a different personality walked in the room. She walked in and huffily said, “What’s wrong?” There was no greeting or smile. She was flat and rude. She had no listening skills and didn’t want to hear anything I had to say. She jumped to conclusions before I had a chance to explain. You can forget about her wanting to hear anything. I tried explaining what was going on and she sat there smirking, huffing and treated me like I was an inconvenience. I might as well have been speaking to a wall. She told me she didn’t have any answers for me and asked me what I wanted. I was too stunned to defend myself. The whole visit was a waste of time and I walked out feeling deflated. I requested to have my care transferred to a different doctor in the clinic.
I saw Dr. Walraven a few times at the Trinity Mother Frances clinic on Douglas St. in Tyler. She was rude, wouldn't listen to me, refused to refill a non-narcotic prescription, refused to help me get medical equipment I needed, etc. Worst part of her bedside manner was to accuse me of being a "Dr.-Shopper"; a term I understand is usually reserved for drug addicts seeking narcotics. I begged her to refer me to a different Arthritis doctor than the one I was seeing. She referred me to the same clinic. So I did some "Dr.-Shopping" and found a doctor who cared about me and treated me with respect and like I had worth as a person. He recommended a different Arthritis doctor, and helped me get the treatment and medical equipment I needed. Walraven jumped to her own preconceived judgment about me and basically wrote me off as some kind of human refuse. Can't recommend her at all. By the way, all records of my visits with her have been removed from TMF's My Chart website.
Same as all bad reviews! She was flat. No concern no welcoming... Did not answer my questions at all, all she checked was my breathing ...said "I'll be back I'm gonna work at my desk" came back and sent me to labs and that was it!!! Like shes just there for the check! Receptionist and nurse were flat as well . Not welcoming at all just want to get you in and out.
Did not seem to listen very well. Then disappeared from practice - office did not know where she went or how to contact her.
She was very rude and lacks listening skills. She interprets what she only wants to hear. Her personality is very flat and not warm or welcoming at all. She jumps to her own conclusions and is probably one of the worst doctors I have ever visited. I would not recommend visiting her.
Worst doctor I have ever been to. Didn't listen to me, jumped to unprofessional conclusions/diagnosis and was generally rude. Would never recommend her.
