I've seen Dr. Sakornbut for years. I have always loved this woman and was so sad when I lost my insurance and couldn't afford to see her. She has always made sure I've been on top of my health. If it wasn't for this doctor my grandmother probably wouldn't be here. She is outstanding and is always on call when we need her. She has literally saved my grandmothers life! This is my review of the Family Health Center and their office manager and policies. I was severely disappointed when I tried to get an appointment to see if I wanted to change my primary care physician to Dr. Sakornbut. I felt the office manager, Randall, was uncaring, insensitive and stuck up. I was immediately turned off by his demeanor over the phone the very first time I spoke with him. In a subsequent call he asked me if I was "aware this is a private facility" and when I told him no, that I was simply referred there, he tried to tell me I had NOT been referred there, just simply made aware of the Dr. I find it offensive that the office has a policy that they cap the number of patients they are willing to see just because of a certain type of insurance. I found it unreal that they would refuse a new INSURED patient on the basis that the insurance name was not what they would like to see. He made it seem that due to the type of insurance and the fact they are a "private" facility, they were too good to be seeing someone with my type of insurance. Then when I asked if he had any suggestions where I should look for a FEMALE doctor who is older than I am he refused to even consider suggesting anyone. I have never had such a poor experience with the phone personnel at any professional establishment as I did today with Randall at the Family Health Center. If you are able to get in and have an appointment, you must be one of the lucky ones. I sincerely hope the Doctors in this establishment have better bedside manner than their office manager.
