Dr. Elka R. Eisen

Dr. Eisen is a first class professional who I can recommend without reservation. She is very thorough, friendly and your appointment is not rushed. You won't be disappointed.

Dr. Eisen has been my doctor for years. She is professional and knowledgeable, and goes out of her way to make sure that I understand my care. She is warm and caring, and spends time to understand my concerns. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking dermatological care.

In the two years I used Dr. Eisen I wasn't particularly impressed. Both visits were routine skin care checks - and I felt that she wasn't really interested in discussing other skin issues with me. After my previous experiences with dermatologists in NY and Ct., I found Dr. Eisen seriously lacking. Mediocre care at best....and oh, trying to get meds over the phone is a nightmare.

I wanted to like this doctor but she insisted there was nothing wrong with myself and my husband but gave me penicillin anyway. IT DID NOT WORK AT ALL. We waited a month to see her but when we got there she said my husband had bites on his leg?? I told her that I had a flesh eating virus and there was OBVIOUS MRSA on my legs. She did not believe me and said to be careful how I diagnose .. meanwhile at one point my leg was seriously infected for months before I saw her but contained it was crushed garlic 6000 allicin but it did not completely heal it so it was still visible but not the flesh eating symptoms. My main doctor sent us to her and was also distraught at her misdiagnosis. We saw her in June and have been seriously suffering since then until I realized that we had to go out of the country to get the care we needed. Eisen did not give me any cremes only weak penicillin that has NOTHING to do with MRSA or the STAPH all over my husbands ankles that he got from working in a hospital. I had at least 5 very visible red infections on my leg and some strange bumps. I believe her testing was inefficient and maybe she tested for one type of MRSA but not the other but it came up negative. I am NOT A GUINEA PIG and did not like her lack of consideration to our situation. She literally sent my husband home with NOTHING but a very wrong diagnosis and did not want to discuss it with him. He told her the spots were there for years but she has the NERVE to tell him they were bites? Meanwhile 4 months later at my wits end and nothing healed from the crappy penicillin she gave me I obtained BACTRIM and we are FINALLY HEALING. I think this doctor wants you to be sick. .Eisen treats people as if they are stupid because she is well spoken but in fact she coats the situation to make you think she knows everything. If she was partially wrong with me I would forgive her but she was 100% wrong with myself and my husband. If it was not STAPH and MRSA then BACTRIM would not work. Thank GOD for my intelligence . I mostly am FABULOUS at remedies and healing but sometimes we do need to ask for help in the medical community. HER OFFICE WAS GORGEOUS !! IMPECCABLE DESIGN!! THEY HAVE ONE OF THE NICEST DOCTORS OFFICE I HAVE EVER SEEN. I really wish she'd seen the anguish and pain we were both in and LISTENED TO US! I had to research myself our conditions and I know for a fact what, when and why we both had skin issues because certain remedies would work and others would not. Regardless, Eisen was very educated in her speech but does not listen and tells you that you are wrong. I've kept the staph and MRSA somewhat under control with my remedies but it was still very visible there was something NOT RIGHT. I told her why my legs were healing but she acts like she "knows" everything and did not "see" that there were active red infections all over my legs . She took a culture which actually REINFECTED CELLULITIS on my ankle - its been BRIGHT RED for MONTHS . She should have IMMEDIATELY given us BACTRIM. Doxycillin is not the top drug for MRSA or the average staph infection. Bactrim or Zyvox are the top drugs for what we had. Maybe this is not her expertise and she is good for somethings but If you have a STAPH infection or MRSA do not go to this doctor. I'VE SEEN DR. EISEN FOR MANY YEARS AND HAVE HAD GREAT VISITS EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! MY HUSBAND HAS SEEN HER AND ALSO HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! I WILL SEE NOBODY ELSE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!!

Dr. Eisen has been my doctor for over a decade and always provides exceptional care. She spends time to carefully consider my care, and in my opinion is the best dermatologist in Tucson!

She is professional, informative, and thoroughly answered my questions. She made me feel very comfortable during the skin cancer check.

Dr. Elka Eisen should have her medical license taken away. She was rude, arrogant, and worse, when I came to Sheftel & Associates for a look at a wounded area of my skin above my right knee (from a nurse/practioner slicing off a piece of my skin to order a biopsy, which incidentally came back without any signs of cancer) that sore area never healed and hurt me. She said there was nothing there...and walked out of the patient room hurredly...as if I was wasting her time. A few week later, yesterday, April 18th, I went back to see Dr. Scott Sheftel (after he read my concerns on a prior review of Dr. Eisen). Dr. Sheftel said it looked like I did have skin cancer, and took a new sample to send out for a biopsy. Meanwhile this area could have spread, gotten into my blood stream, caused even more damage, all because Dr. Eisen insisted there was nothing there of concern! She shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine! She's an embarrassment to the practice of good medicine and I am hurting from yet a new slice of skin being taken yesterday by Dr. Sheftel to get a new biopsy. I've had skin cancer before, and I am worried. Never mind my knee and the area where the skin was newly examined and a piece taken for further analysis is stinging and hurting. Now, finally, I have had the cancer removed by Moh's surgery. Am including just one photo of the large area due to the surgeon having to remove all the cancerous cells. I am now in the healing stage, but still have major stitches, cannot bend my knee without discomfort and am still uncomfortable because of the surgery that had to be performed. She is totally unprofessional, rude, uncaring and she dresses shockingly as well. Since she is so buxom she needs to wear less revealing dresses.
