Dr. Whelchel is compassionate, kind, a good listener, and does not give advice unless guidance is solicited. She provides unconditional support while not necessarily applauding her patient's every move which I appreciated since I do not believe that being always validated is the best therapy, but she was always supportive and encouraging. She helped me get back in touch with my true self after the end of a very toxic relationship I had felt trapped in for many years. I owe her a lot when it comes to my recovery.
