Dr. Elizabeth Yap Tan

I went to see Dr. Tan several times, but left after I had an emergency appt to check out an abscess. Instead of talking to me about what was going on, she decided on her own, without speaking to me, that she'd remove the tooth, and didn't talk to me at all about the process or what would happen. She also has the worst bedside manner I've seen before. Let me also say that I went in for a regular cleaning and she decided to do a deep cleaning instead. Thanks for that. Traumatized me, and it took me a while to get up the courage to go to another doctor. Wouldn't recommend even to my worst enemy.

Never again. Two stars instead of one because this only pertains to Elizabeth Tan DDS. I could spend hours talking about this experience and why it was awful, but I'll try to summarize. - Tactless and blunt when discussing any issues. - Did not sit down and have a conversation with me about a problem tooth when I went in about an abscess. I had to be talked down by the other dentists when she produced a consent form for me to sign to have her remove the tooth in question, without telling me that she was going to have it done in the first place. (They said, "Well she was just trying to help, she thought you were in pain." When, after she hit the tooth with a heavy metal tool and asked me if it hurt? Or the non-existent time she actually took the time to listen to me?) - Gave me a deep clean without me asking for it. - Kept me for over an hour for an initial exam just to take pictures, countless x-rays, and bluntly tell me about needing root canals. If you don't mind any of that, I can recommend her. She certainly isn't careful nor does she take the time to consider the way she speaks to you. She created a lot of needless anxiety and dread for me. I might only recommend her if you don't have dental anxiety. Never again. Horrible. Thus review is specific to Elizabeth Tan. Just wants to do any unnecessary procedure to get money from the insurance. Ruined my teeth when she tried to be greedy to put the stuff used to fill cavities on my front teeth that had no cavities. She said she was helping improve smile but didn’t recommend going to orthodontist to put braces, instead tried to put the filling on my front teeth and ruined.

My family and I always go to them! Maria is great. She is also awesome with kids. I would definately recommend them.
