Dr. Elizabeth Hong Magno

It's been several years now, but this doctor's staff is unprofessional. They violated HIPAA & I reported them to the ISBH. They tried to say they couldn't see my son because Medicaid hadn't reimbursed for his last appointment, which I knew was BS. They called me by my last name & said my son's first name, in front of an entire waiting room full of people!!! Dr Magno is not a proactive doctor, but rather, she just treats what she sees at the time instead of looking into what might be causing things to be the way they appear to be. The time you have to wait to be seen is ridiculous. Staff is just nonchalant nobodys telling u anything on why you're waiting so long not as clean for a neurology office. . Literally almost 2 hrs still haven't been seen

Dirty nasty place to go along with the attitudes of the nasty old ladies that inhabit this place.. Literally the epitome of lazy! People and places like this are exactly why I moved my family out of the region and even out of indiana completely. If your looking for a Neurologist find another! When going through things that are horrible anyway you shouldn't have to deal with horrible lazy people on top of whatever else your dealing with. Dr Magno saw my daughter, she just had my baby lay on table, lifted her by her hands and then the Dr looked at me and asked me if I had insurance...what kind of question was that?!? Tell me something about my daughter not my insurance. That was all she did for the exam on my daughter...and she said see me in 6months because it was too early to tell what was wrong with her?!?! If Dr. Elizabeth Magno was the only person I had to encounter with at this office I would give her five huge stars. However, the staff and the constant lack of organization among them, makes me deeply unsatisfied with almost every single one of my experiences here. Dr. Magno examined and diagnosed my (then) six month old with hemi-paralysis as a result of stroke in 2012. She has been her only neurologist for the course of her treatment because she’s extremely attentive, very informative and mainly because (and I’m almost positive) she is the only (extensively-practiced) pediatric neurologist in the region of northwest Indiana. And driving to Riley’s almost 3 hours away for appointments wasn’t very appealing (we actually did this for the first several months of my child’s life in search of the diagnosis.) I’m not sure if their patient load is more than they can handle or if they just simply don’t emphasize a strong code of courtesy within their professional encounters. My initial complaints were mostly only to do with how they answer their phones sometimes or their lack of letting me finish what I’m trying to explain, or waiting anywhere from one to two hours or more to be seen by doctor. But more recently I’ve had to literally make sure these people are actually doing their jobs, for them. Which included a few months worth of phone calls and messages left between the office of Magno and the Methodist Neuroscience center, and an embarrassing, overwhelming sense of harassment from myself, in order to get a measly new order written and sent to said office, in which my most recent conversation with a receptionist at Magno’s office ended with instructing me to “call the neuroscience center back, get their fax number and then give us a call back to get it to them”. .................... WHAT$%~#*!! ???????????? When we started in the office as new patients I was 17 and not very worldly. I was a pretty young mom and honestly didn’t know much, I just wanted to get the care my baby needed because I knew something wasn’t right. After almost 9 years of dealing with the same avoidable unprofessionalism portrayed by the people running this office I can honestly say that now, I know I’m not crazy. Over all the years and doctors and offices and orders and appointments I’ve had to make and keep and meet, I know that there is some vital processes missing from the way the people in this office deal with things. I’m sad we will no longer be receiving Dr. Magno’s help. And I hope their office takes my experiences and others’ concerns or complaints with the ability to understand and the gratitude to move or speak in a more considerate manner. The best family Dr. you could ask for!

I'm currently being treated by and given medication from this office and had a seizure in 2 years. Great staff and doctor. I've been going here for about 4 years and I'm always treated great. You one star review people it's on sight with you.

We really like Dr. Magno. She is very kind, prompt, and thorough. She takes her time to be detailed, and explains her reasoning. She answers every question and didn't rush us at all. She is compassionate, says necessary things delicately, but is straightforward at the same time. She informs about available therapies but did not pressure us at all. We feel very fortunate to have found her, and we drive quite a ways to see her. She is worth it. We really like Dr. Magno. She is very kind, prompt, and thorough. Dr. Magno is wonderful!!! She answers all your questions and concerns. She is good with kids as well. Her staff however are horrible!!! I am considering switching doctors for my because of her staff. I wish I knew the ladies name but the lady you check in with is extremely rude, nasty and very unhelpful!!! She raises her voice and talks over you. Very unprofessional!!!!!

Plan on playing the waiting game....

Always takes to long of a wait and not enough with the patient I had so much more answers now that I take him to South bend that all the years she saw him hete

Needs to lose liscence to practice medicine. Commits medicaid fraud, doesnt see patient and bills medicaid. Makes it impossible to get medicsid to cover 2nd oppinion.

I would not even give them a one star but Google makes you. They never called in the referral for my son to see another doctor. She was rude when I said I wanted to see another doctor and when I wanted more testing done. She even stated that she can't keep ordering test just because I wanted answers. The office never calls back or answers the phone. Magno never told us the options we had to try and help our son that just started having seizures but instead wanted to push meds on him. I will be filing a formal complaint to make sure this office gets closed down! Not only do I feel she put my son at risk by never calling in the referral but she has NO CLUE about what she is talking about. If you go see Magno please educate yourself. Dr. Elizabeth Magno is an awesome Dr. She has been amazing with my handicap/disabled daughter for 23 years now. The staff has always treated us with kindness & have remarkable attitudes. My daughter was in the hospital for 80 days & the staff & Dr. Magno came to the hospital to visit her. I think that was awesome of them to take time out of their busy hectic schedules to be by our side. Thank you Dr. Elizabeth Magno & staff for your OUTSTANDING work...Keep up the good work!!! Magno put my son at risk by never calling in the referral that we needed for his seizures. His appointment with her was on the 10/18/17. After being told the the hospital will call us to set up the appointment I finally called them since its been 14 days and no call yet. They said they never got a referral. So I called Magno office on 11/3/2017 and they said shes out of the office for 2 wks and they don't have it charted of any referral. I will be speaking with my attorney about this.

continued from below..you can't even understand her. she chuckles at everything which really burns my nerves!! she discharged my daughter after 2 clear 20 minute EEGs. however, I am now scheduled to see a new ped. Neuro. in Chicago because my pediatrician says there's no way shes no longer having seizures! however the MAIN problem, IS THE STAFF!

Dr is good, but her staff is absolutely TERRIBLE!!!!

We have been seeing Dr. Mango for the past couple years, and my daughter loves her. Unfortunately, the office staff is terrible. They are very rude and unprofessional. We were just there a day ago, and the office staff was actually arguing with each other, and it got to the point where it was very uncomfortable, especially for my 10 year old daughter. I hope the staff reads this, because they should be absolutely ashamed of themselves...especially doing this with children present.

Staff is unprofessional, timeliness of faxing rx to pharmacy is slow and terrible. If you dont stay on them, you'll wait forever. Find anoter neurologist.

The office staff is so horrible. They are rude and ignorant. We have always received pretty good service from Dr. E. Magno but it is really a shame that she has such a horrible staff. Every time I call the office or come into the office we deal with the same unprofessionalism. I would definitely never recommend this Dr. to anyone.
