I consulted Dr. brown who ordered a CT of my abdomen and pelvis and scheduled a cystoscpy. She assured me that the procedure would not be uncomfortable. I did not hear from the doctor to review the results after the CT. When I went for the cystoscopy I waited for over an hour. No one explained why or apologized. The assistant “prepped” me. When she started to apply lidocaine gel to my urethra I cried out in pain, She stopped and then tried again but it was excruciatingly painful so she stopped. When Dr. Brown appeared, I asked if she had looked at the CT images and report and she said she didn’t receive it. I was sent the report immediately as was my primary doctor. When the doctor began the procedure it was, again, excruciatingly painful. She told me to relax and breathe. She proceeded despite my obvious discomfort. There were no words of comfort. Dr. Brown was excellent. She listened to me very carefully and took time to address each of my concerns. Together we decided on a plan to address my problems. I am very happy I found her as there are not many urologists in the area that specialize in incontinence. I look forward to working with her more.

Dr Brown used a decision map to address my issues. When I asked about alternative treatments/symptoms, she could not help me. I asked her about her knowledge of other solutions to help reduce pain for the condition I came in for; she had no answers and showed no interest nor curiosity to find out more about it. I am surprized and shocked that a medical specialist would exhibit such little interest and care in helping treat and reduce patient pain. I have experience similar with other GW doctors.

Dr. Brown is very friendly. She spent alot of time during my visit. She made me feel relaxed. She is a good doctor and is really smart too about her work. Her office is very nice, located in a good part of town and is easy to find in the city . There are alot of receptionists and a large waiting room and the wait time was none. The forms for my medical history were only 4 pages, one sided, and had large-print font so that they were easy to read. She really cares about people and her job.
