Dr. Elissa J Palmer

I was researching providers when I found Dr. Elissa Palmer. When I called to make an appointment I was told she had to be listed as my PCP with my insurance to be seen (even tho my insurance does not require a PCP to be seen) so I called to do that. When I called to make an appointment, I called 3 days in a row with no call back. I finally got ahold of them today 2/25/21 and was told by a rude man that answered that they weren’t taking new patients for 3 months, I was not told that when I called before or I would not have chosen this doctor. The customer service of the people who answer the phone is subpar and needs to be identified. I work for an insurance company and would not have my job if I spoke to members or providers like that. Dr. Palmer takes the time to listen and will follow up with subsequent appointments to track progress and even complete referrals to other specialists - a new thing in my experiences! She is very caring and easy to understand, writing down her directions so a patient can take them home for reference. Involved with teaching medical students, I know she is experienced and knowledgeable in current practices and theories.

The doctors are fantastic. The front desk and other staff are lazy, rude and unprofessional. I've been waiting for a referral, was told I would receive a call when it's approved. As a matter of fact, I NEVER get a call to let me know when a referral is approved. N E V E R! I'm given excuses as to why something can't be done in a timely manner. I'm doing their job having to call the insurance, etc., myself! I get it, my health isn't your concern. But you know what? It should be, especially since my visits pay your bills! I hope you don't expect better than what you're given when you have to see a Dr! Next step is calling the administration and calling my insurance to give them a formal complaint. I have not had just one bad experience but multiple at this office. The doctors are great at this place it's the nurses and front desk. They are very rude especially the nurses and they discuss your medical situation and laugh about it. Second of all if your trying to get an appointment good luck. They gave me an appointment and when I showed up they had no record of it so I had to reschedule. Making an appointment by phone is another long process. They put you on hold forever and if you get Jackie she hangs up on you. She has hung up on me 3 different times while I was holding 5-15 minutes.
