We have trusted Dr. Smith with the ongoing care of our medically complex daughter for the last nine years. He has our highest recommendation and appreciation.

Dr. Smith answered all my questions and addressed my concerns regarding a procedure for my 3 month old son. He was very nice and eased my mind regarding the surgery that will take place in a few months. Scheduling with his office was a breeze and everyone was super nice. Checkin was quick and the wait time wasn’t bad. While waiting on Dr. Smith and after out consult I needed to breastfeed and his staff made me feel super comfortable.

Dr. Smith is fantastic, couldn’t have asked for a better pediatric urologist- performed our sons surgery brilliantly.

Dr Smith is a phenomenal physician. Extremely kind and reassuring. Great at explaining things and giving all possible options, solutions, and scenarios. He really studies each of his patients uniquely and fine tunes his craft to come up with the best course of action. He is a class act, and we are fortunate to have him as our son's urologist!

I have been taking my son to see Dr.Edwin Smith since 2015. He is very knowledgeable and empathetic. Absolutely LOVE his nurse; Gerda. Love how they can explain things in a way I can understand. I definitely recommend GA Urology if you need this specialty.

Dr smith is hands down INCREDIBLE. He has great bedside manner, explains everything in layman‘s terms for a non-medical person to understand, very friendly and has always been on time for his appointments with me. I am so thankful that we were recommended to him by a friend whose child also sees him. I highly recommend him

Highly disappointed. Rushed visit. Did not run appropriate tests to find underlying causes. Seemed annoyed the whole time. Left with no clear answers and did not even try to fix the issue at hand.

We came to Dr. Smith after my infant son’s failed pyeloplasty surgery (with a different surgeon). He immediately made us feel comfortable and had a plan (different from the first doctor) for a successful repeat surgery. Parents- do your research! I did hours and hours of this and so thankful we found Dr. Edwin Smith. He’s kind, knowledgeable and a great surgeon. He never made us feel rushed or insignificant and answered all of our questions in a way we could understand. We also love his nurse! When you find a nurse that has worked so, so many years with the same doctor you know that he’s not only a good doctor but a good person! Dr. Edwin Smith was very knowledgeable and really made me and my family feel comfortable. When I found out my little one had to have surgery I was nervous because you never know what could happen but my little one recovered and is just fine. I had to wait til my son was 6mths before the would do his surgery, but the were professional and asked if I had any questions. They made sure everything was done correctly and always let me know what was going on. Made sure I was completely informed before, during, and after surgery and care.

Exceptional surgeon. Very careful and thorough in his decision making. More than willing to advise against surgery if there are less invasive and effective ways to manage a patient. We are so fortunate to have found him after several consultations with other pediatric urologists around the country.

Luckily my son won’t have to return to Dr. Smith, but if he did I would be happy to have him as his doctor. As we only had one quick visit here, I can’t speak too much about his actual skills as a doctor, but he was very courteous and professional, as was the staff. Probably the shortest wait I’ve ever had in a waiting room too!

Dr. Smith has been my son’s doctor for several years. Both he and his nurse have always been attentive to my son’s needs and concerns. Dr. Smith has a lot of experience in his field as well as great bedside manners! We highly recommend him!

Dr Edwin Smith saved our son’s life! He is truly a gifted , talented and knowledgeable doctor. The best in his field, and actually personable, Dr Smith has always made sure we were comfortable and most important knowledgeable -before and during the treatment plan for our infant. You will NOT find more capable and trustworthy hands for you child to be in! Dr. Smith has truly been a gift to our family. He is so knowledgeable, understanding and has the best bedside manner. He makes our daughter feel comfortable and safe when he is caring for her. He explains everything so well. He has gone above and beyond for our daughter. We are so thankful we have him on our daughters Medical team!

Dr. Smith has been our daughter’s urologist for the past 3 years. Since we have begun care with him, our daughters infection rate has decreased 100 percent. No inflections. His bedside manner is gentle, and kind. He gives all the information needed to have informed consent and allows us to make the needed decisions on our daughter’s care. His nurse Gerda is wonderfully on too of things and easy to contact. All of our prescriptions are taken care of with ease (much to my surprise usually). The office staff is kind and helpful as well. My daughter has been a patient of Dr Smith/Kirsch/Scherz (all of whose names I've seen on many bills) for 6 years and we have never seen any of them in person. The nurses, Kristin Wellman and Shannon Suarez are wonderful, but the lack of communication is frustrating. For example, one time we went in for a check-up and they took my daughter's urine just in case. Then I get a call from a pharmacy in another part of town that I've never used saying there was a prescription for her ready. I thought it was a mistake, but after another couple tries I returned the call to the pharmacy to find out my daughter had yet another UTI and no one at GA Urology called to tell me, let alone asked which pharmacy to send it to. My daughter has only one fully working kidney so every UTI is pertinent. This is one of may instances where the communication fell through. Their billing is also confusing, I am guessing this is intentional and the figures change on each new mailing. I would not recommend.

My daughter did her first visit virtually due to COVID-19. She has had a several month long issue with UTI's, abdominal pain, and lower back pain. She was referred here by her PCP. She really like Dr. Edwin Smith very much and stated she could tell he was very knowledgeable. She stated he gave her some great advice and follow up in 3 months. The only issue I had was the trouble scheduling the appt to begin with. My daughter's PCP made her an appt with them in office for the first week of June for an actual face to face exam which she definitely needs. And still needs. Due to new issues, my daughters PCP called to try to at least get her in to have a virtual visit before her June appt to get established. The scheduling guy I think was confused about what was going on. This visit was to go ahead and have her see Dr. Smith until her appt in June but the scheduler said we didn't need the June appt. So he cancelled it. I told him we still needed it but he insisted we didn't if we were doing a virtual visit. I tried to explain again that we needed to keep the June appt but he cancelled it anyway. She needs a physical exam due to continuing issues and Ive called 3 times and it sends me to a voicemail and I have left 3 messages with no returned calls to schedule anything. We don't have a pediatric urologist where we live and her old urology office won't see her now because she is not 18 or older. So I would have really liked to get her in and I fear that no returned VM's prolongs how long we will have to wait for an available appt with Dr. Smith. I will continue trying to call. Hopefully I will get someone to schedule her. As for Dr. Smith, my daughter loved him. 17 year old girls are brutally honest and she was very impressed with him and she found him to be very nice and said "He sounded like he definitely knew what he was talking about". We have seen Dr. Smith for over 5 years and have always had a great experience with his staff and him. We appreciate all of their help.

We live 4 hours away. Our son has needed a procedure to correct his Meatal Stenosis since he was 8 weeks old. I met with a dr out of Savannah, he wanted to put our son under general anesthesia . I needed time to think about that. We went back again about 2 months later just to see if he felt the same and he did. I proceeded to schedule the surgery but was told we would have to wait 2 months due to insurance reasons. Once those 2 months went by with no phone call, I decided to call... twice. NO answer! I immediately searched for pediatric urologists and found Dr. Edwin Smith. The wait time in the office was minimal. Dr. Smith was amazing... he actually did the procedure in the office with numbing cream. His team was courteous, proficient, and I would definitely recommend them! We are very pleased with Dr. Smith! He has seen my son for 14 years now, and we have been pleased with every service, visit and even surgery that he has performed. I highly recommend him!

I wanted to wait until my son had his surgery to give my full honest review... I am SO happy I was reccomend to dr smith for my sons undescended testicle! He is obviously very knowledgeable and is honestly very comforting. He saw I was very VERY nervous about my son having surgery and made sure that i knew "even if it is a very easy and straightforward procedure, we don't take anesthesia lightly". I feel as though any other dr would brush off the fact that it IS scary and it IS serious no matter the surgery. He even reassured me on the day of his surgery that again, its a very straight forward low risk surgery but its normal to feel scared. Again, he was so reassuring that I felt comfortable knowing he was with my son. He also explains things in a way that we understood and felt comfortable and without questions. His actual practice we were seen at to begin with was well put together and very fast to see us and tell us what needed to be done. He explained all the next steps and left nothing out. So grateful to Dr. Smith for the great care he provided my son before, during, and after his surgery. He was very competent and knowledgeable about which corrective surgery he needed which allowed me to feel more at ease.

Great Doctor

Hands down one of the most professional and caring doctors I have ever experienced. He went above and beyond to care for our son. Dr. Smith is the best!!

Dr Edwin Smith is very thorough and an absolutely AWESOME doctor. We've been using him since my daughter was born, and she is now 12 years old. We are very pleased with his work, and highly recommend him!!!

My child had surgery just Monday and the staff was phenomenal, he even came to the room and talk to me about the days event that was going to take place, in fact I just spoke to him through the 24hr on call service, he was very prompt at calling back an addressed all of my concerns. Our appointment was made for after school (330pm) however upon arrival I was told it was too late in the day for the procedure to be completed. My child did not have his exam preformed and we were not treated by the physician. However, we were billed for the office visit. After several months and multiple phone calls the issue remains unresolved. Not only were we inconvenienced with a wasted trip due to incompetent staff in scheduling but are also expected to pay for an unnecessary office visit.

My family absolutely LOVE Dr.Smith!

We love Dr. Smith. He is incredibly kind, patient, thorough, and experienced. He is efficient but never rushed our questions in the exam room. He also drew very easy to understand diagrams for us about his surgical plan. He never said more than he was confident about, but was proactive and reassuring when we thought our child was having a serious surgical complication. Dr. Smith fixed a problem for our son that another surgeon could not and we are so grateful. We drive from 4 hrs away for him!

My granddaughter had suffered with incontinence since she was born. After many visits to another doctor over a four year span and many tests, Dr. Smith immediately found the problem and surgically corrected it. I wish we had been referred to Dr. Smith in the beginning so that my granddaughter had not had to suffer threw the embarrassment she endured. Thank you Dr. Smith and staff.

My son has seen many urologist with his health issues and Dr. Smith is the only doctor that has ever tried to attempt to help him. He is 6 years old and started seeing him at the age of 3. So it took 3 years and 5 doctors to actually have something done for my son. Love love LOVE Dr. Smith!

Sweet sweet spirit, this doctor. Consulted with us most adequately about our concerns prior to surgery. Surgery went beautifully for our grandson, and Dr. Smith came in to see us afterwards. Just what you wish for when looking for a surgeon. Extremely competent, wonderful bedside manner, and perfection in his work.

Dr. Smith is very thorough, kind, and gentle with his patients. I would not trust any other urologist with my child. He takes out the time to explain indepth details of the procedure and give the family a chance to ask questions. I love the fact that he doesn't rush with the patient and family. I also love the fact that the surgical staff nurse were constantly calling my cellphone during the procedure to keep me update on my child progress and well being. I would recommend Dr. Smith to everyone.

Five stars are simply not enough to describe our experience with Dr. Edwin Smith. He is an outstanding pediatric urologist, who is not only highly knowledgeable but treats his patients with utmost care and respect. We felt completely confident entrusting our son's orchiopexy surgery to Dr. Smith. His office staff and surgery team are absolutely top notch, handling everything from appointment scheduling, insurance issues, surgery care and any questions we had in a caring, efficient manner.
