Dr. Edward Bruce Kampsen

Charged me $143, and said he could do nothing for my son who stuck something up his nose. He turned out fine but we wasted an hour filling out paperwork, sitting in the exam room. Then he finally comes in and tries to look at my son once. Then says "I can't do anything you have to take him to the ER to be sedated."

Trant, Dr Kampsen and staff are the best.

Dr. Kampsen is so amazing!!! He’s so knowledgeable and friendly. He’s currently taking care of my issues and I’m extremely happy with his service and his office team. I highly recommend him!!!

I have no idea how he has so many reviews. Please do not go to him. Kampsen performed surgery on my at 16 and filled my sinus cavities with MRSA. I had to travel to Orlando to find a specialist to help me get it out. Not only that, but during our post ops he would not give me lidocaine…for removing stitches and dressings from my nose and inner eye. He would give me a ball to squeeze and get upset when I would cry or flinch. It was the most horrifying experience of my life and true malpractice. Please spare yourself/your children. 2yrs later and I still say - Get a 2nd opinion before any surgery or procedure. Dr. Kampsen recommended a surgery for me that I'm now able to avoid with different medication. I need to treat the acid reflux first, and the sinuses may clear up. Also, Dr. Kampsen's office is very chaotic. He reviewed my CT Scan in the hall kiosk with people walking all around us. I couldn't concentrate and ask questions. The other ENT took his time and explained everything. We reviewed the CT scan in the privacy of an exam room. The 2nd ENT was able to access my CT scan online, but Dr. Kampsen needed the CD to view it. I cannot put into words how wonderful Dr. Kampsen and his staff are. It is not always easy to find a doctor that truly cares and listens to what you have to say, and even more rare to find one that puts your mind at ease and can make you laugh. Dr. Kampsen does all of the above. He ensures that you are treated as a patient with needs, not just another number. His staff works above and beyond to identify each person's specific needs and is very patient and understanding. I came to Dr. Kampsen after dealing with prolonged issues that had been brushed aside from other ENTs. He took the time to listen to what I was going through and promised we would get to the bottom of it. He not only followed through with that promise, but made sure my comfort and peace of mind was a priority. Dr Kampsen is a good doctor in many ways. He did a great job with my septoplasty years ago and actually waived my moms large copay for her surgery because she couldn’t afford to pay. The complaint I have with him is that he doesn’t explain things well and is not compassionate. This lack of explaining things led me to many years of suffering with sinusitis. I will be looking for another ENT.

Every staff member, all the front desk personnel, and P.A. Trent Savage are all fantastic. All of them, especially Savage and Tara Wilkinson, were always pleasant and patiently took as much time as needed to work with me, on my behalf and/or explain things. Dr. Kempsen changed my life. It has been almost a year since I went to him with my chronic sinus infection problem. He quickly saw I had a deviated septum and was a perfect candidate for sinus passage and turbine work as well. I went from monthly infections to not having one in 9 months since surgery. I cannot say enough good things about this office. Staff is awesome, Dr Kampsen is awesome, PA Trent is awesome. Even as a new patient I was able to get an appointment within a week or so, which is ridiculously quick specialists. They diagnosed my issues immediately, with 3 total appointments, one initial exam, a CT to confirm diagnosis, then one to explain the treatment plan. Long story short, I had to have surgery to correct a badly deviated septum and some turbinate issues. I was real nervous about it, never had to have anything done before. They kept me at ease, explained thoroughly what was going to happen and what to expect, and these guys actually have a sense of humor. It was like a comedy show prior to anesthesia coming to get me. Dr Kampsen and PA Trent Savage are nothing shy of awesome, the first medical professionals I've ever dealt with that actually have a sense of humor. Dr Kempsen and his office staff are amazing. His knowledge and years of experience are so valuable. He has helped both myself and my daughter through several illnesses.

I needed to find an ENT to check a swelling in my throat from severe allergies. Dr. Kampsen had lots of 5 stars, and I can tell you he earned every one of them. The whole staff here is very caring, patient, and serious about observing the health guildelines. But they also have a sense of humor, which is very important in times of stress. My exam was very thorough: ears, nose and throat, not just what I came in for. The PA was extremely knowledgeable, and answered any questions I had. Dr. Kampsen is a pro and puts you at ease right away. All around a very comfortable experience, with a professional staff. :)

I went to Dr. Kampsen due to him being highly recommended. Today was my first and last visit. The staff here working for him is wonderful. I see that Dr. Kampsen has very good reviews, which is great for his patients whom he obviously treated with dignity and respect. I am not sure if he was having an off or bad day, which we all do, however you should still treat your patients with decency. He came in the room and I said hello to him and he just grunted at me. He sat down and asked a few questions, he didn't seem to like my answers and became rude and arrogant. He wasn't at all informative or explain what he was doing during the procedure/exam. He addressed a medical issue that I wasn't even experiencing. He was rude and had no bedside manner. He couldn't see anything based off his physical exam and ordered a CT scan, without any type of explanation of what could be happening to me. He did not address my questions or concerns, he told me my right side of my nose is crooked and that could cause me to have trouble breathing. I spent a week in and out of the ER with an arterial bleed in my nose, and didn't know it. I had a follow up visit with Dr. Kampsen after a trip to the ER. And I must say Dr. Kampsen is so friendly and welcoming. He very knowledgeable and gives great advice to improve your condition. I love Dr. Kampsen and his office! After suffering with mouth breathing, allergies, and a history of chronic bronchitis my entire life... Dr. Kampsen made the connection between my deviated septum and breathing problems on my first visit. The process was seamless and I could not be happier with the results. The recovery was uncomfortable, but once the packing was removed, I began to notice a huge improvement in my breathing that continued to improve as the swelling reduced. So thankful!

I had to go there 30 minutes before my appointment to fill out a 13-page application, asking for very detailed personal information. Most pages are legally binding arbitration papers, asking if you have ever sued a physician, etc.. It makes you feel like they've been sued for malpractice before and now they want to cover themselves from that. What is my education or occupation has got to the with a simple throat exam? I understand when they ask insurance information, my address, phone number, etc.. If you do not give your consent for your information to be shared, they refuse to see you. All the papers are about collecting unnecessary amount of personal data and covering themselves from malpractice lawsuits. If you are a new patient, read all the documents before signing anything. Since i have refused to give out all my personal info and to sign arbitration pages (6 of them), my appointment has been cancelled and I walked out of there. This is the friendliest and happiest doctor's office I've ever been to. Every one of the staff is enthusiastic and kind. They are very quick and you don't stay in the waiting room long. The doctor is very knowledgeable and awesome. The paperwork didn't really take me long, it's a lot of pages but if you're fast and don't have a long medical history it's 2-3 mins. I don't think any doctor wants to get sued for trying to do their best so I don't blame them for having paperwork to cover them. If they maliciously did something to you then you can still do something about it, but doctors don't typically go around trying to do harm to people so I don't know why other reviews are complaining so much about the malpractice paperwork. I was short of breath for the longest time. I have seen other ENT’S but none diagnosed me with a deviated septum. So I had a septoplasty done. Slept without waking up and still feeling tired. Increased my energy, changed my life. I owe thanks to Dr. Kampsen and his staff.

Dr Kampsen worked on my 4 year old son and was absolutely amazing and thorough. His bedside manner was nothing I had ever expected or experienced. He made me feel as if I had known him forever. I am a 33 year old male who was sufferig from chronc Sinusitis along with severe nasal polyp's. When I first met Dr. Kampsen I had no idea that I was suffering from any of the above let alone a fungal infection throughout my entire ENT. Dr. Kampsen quickly diagnosed me and began a treatment plan that would allow for me to have surgical repair and remove of my poly's and correction of my septum after a 5 month treatment. Dr. Kampsen is a miracle worker! Surgery went great and I can breath again!

THIS DR AND HIS P.A ARE VERY GOOD, THE STAFF IS ALSO VERY HELPFUL. WE WERE NOT HAPPY WITH OUR 2 YR OLD ENT, DR. WASYLIK IN CLEARWATER, FL BUT THEY SEEN HER, AND THEIR BEDSIDE MANNER WAS SO AWESOME. IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE TO TAMPA. THEY DO SEE BOTH ADULTS AND CHILDREN. WOULD REFER AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Dr Kampsen accuratelly diagnosed me with a serious nasal problem six years ago. Unfortunately the Insurance System denied treatment and sent me elsewhere. After years of misdiagnosis from other doctors and treatments that did not work, I ended up back at his office. Dr Kampsen quickly scheduled a new CT scan, confirming his originial diagnosis and promptly scheduled me for surgery. I was left suffering for years and I am really disappointed in the whole Healthcare Insurance System. I consider Dr Kampsen the best ENT in Tampa. In fact, I can honestly say that he is the best doctor I have ever seen in all my 45 years. This is a heads up: Be aware of anyone telling you that you just have allergies and you have to learn to live with this. After getting my air ways fixed and a battery of allergy shots; I have not had a sinus infection for nearly 2 years. I would get at least 4 or more a year.
