Dr. Edward Carl Godnig

My 7 year old son was nervous about seeing an eye doctor. Without a hello or introduction, Dr seemed immediately put off and irritated. He tried to follow Drs directions and when he didn’t do so immediately, we were told that we were going to have to leave, if he didn’t listen right away. He tried to listen to Dre directions but didn’t quickly enough and so we left after a tense five minutes. As we were walking out the door, Dr told me that weren’t going to charge us for the failed exam. My son, who likes everyone, said loudly that he didn’t think Dr was being very nice. I agree completely. I have been to many doctors appointments with my children. Kids, mine at times, can be difficult to deal with. Dr was incredibly rude and inpatient and I have been stewing over our interaction ever since. I am disappointed that this was my sons first experience with an eye doctor. Dr told us he was very busy and don’t have time for little boys that don’t listen. Perhaps Dr should make sure to allow for little extra time for kids or not see children at all. What he and I took away from our encounter was that the eye doctor is mean to kids. That’s unfortunate. We will be seeking care from a doctor. Drs response to our complaint was a curt apology and that we should seek care elsewhere.
