Tremendous knowledge and great guy Procedure was painless Very good judgement Unfortunately I just found out that he is now retired

I was a SCH RN who observed Dr Dugas in routine, and in life threatening emergencies. He was always very compassionate , and respectful with patients and nurses. He was considered to be the brightest doctor in the hospital and the most able when it came to endoscopic procedures. We were blessed to have him. I was also his patient , as my family and friends. He was very humble and funny. If he rightfully disagreed with a patients own diagnosis, they tended not to like him. That was the only negative feedback I ever heard about this physician who had every possible award, including RI State gastroenterologist of the year early in his practice. This guy was cool under fire, loved complexity, and spent extra time with most patients . He had an uncompromising moral compass, and everyone I know of has stated that it was not possible to find the same quality care.
