About Edward Robert Cohen
Reviews for Edward Robert Cohen
Dingy, old, half renovated office. Extremely old tech. He wouldn’t address my issue besides saying “a lot of people have this, here’s a lidocaine shot”. Total disregard for the patient. Office staff on the phone was totally confused and misinformed. This was more chaotic and sad then government ran healthcare (VA).
I have been coming here for 2 years.and dr Cohen is the best.i recently had surgery ,I'm 100%satisfied.i absolutely am great full he's the number 1 podiatrist very professional. Love the staff they're great and awesome
I’ve been seeing Dr. Cohen at his Vancleave office for 3 months now and at each visit him and the staff have been amazing and knowledgeable. Highly professional. Great communication. Recommend to everyone.
I had 2 bunions done and they turned out great it was a quick and little to no pain process
My first and only appointment with Dr. Cohan. My feet have been really hurting with neuropathy type pain for several months so Tricare referred me to his office. First of all I’ve been in the medical field for years and do have quite a bit of medical knowledge especially enough to know when a doctor has no business practicing medicine. The tech was very helpful he xrayed both of my feet and performed a nerve conduction test. When the doctor came in I expected him to take a look at the X-rays and the conduction tests that were lying on the table in the exam room. He didn’t look at anything he just asked me where it hurt and turned around and grabbed a syringe drew up a dose of lidocaine and turned back around and injected me in both feet. He didn’t say a word, he didn’t explain anything he then just left the room and came back with a package or orthopedic insoles and said try these they are 50.00 and your insurance won’t pay for them. He then said see you in two weeks and turned around and left. The tech came back into the room and I gave him a piece of my mind and he went and got the doctor. I asked the doctor about my tests and the shot and all he said they were fine and he was sorry he didn’t explain things ver y well did he. I told him no he sure didn’t and why was he injecting my feet with lidocaine when it will just wear off and my feet will continue to hurt? He repaid he also injected me with an anti-inflammatory but that was not true I watched him draw it up. This man should not be practicing medicine at 71 years old he is obviously burnt out after 41 years and needs to retire. The whole building including the exam rooms are filthy dirty. The doctor looks like he just woke up out of bed and his clothes are dirty looking. I don’t know why the health department hasn’t shut him down. I would avoid this place at all costs. (My experience was from a year ago, but after going to another doctor, I now realize how abnormal my experience was). I will give 2 stars only because of how kind and gentle the nurses were; they were the reason my experience was at all tolerable. That said, I came with my father because I have terrible anxiety. We waited for about half an hour before going into a room (the building itself looked run down and old, and sanitization was questionable). Once in a room, we waited another hour before being seen by a nurse. They cleaned my toe (I was having an ingrown removed) and prepped me for a “simple” procedure. Another 45 minutes passes, and in comes the doctor. He doesn’t say a word to me or my dad for several minutes. Out of nowhere, he jabs a needle into my foot with no warning. I yell, and my dad looks horrified (this is rare; he’s a desensitized firefighter). My toe is tingly but far from numb, and he injects me twice more before leaving without speaking. My dad is comforting me for the next half hour while a man in the room next to me is screaming at the top of his lungs before doc finally returns. By now the tingling is mostly gone, and my toe feels pretty normal again. I see him grab a tool, I so tell him I’m uncomfortable and I’m afraid I’ll feel it. He tells me I will be fine and proceeds to remove my ingrown. I’ll spare the details, but I felt everything. As you can imagine, it was painful, like torture. I broke most of my fingernails gripping the chair. I was left with a hugely swollen toe that I couldn’t walk on for days… The ingrown came back despite the procedure being “permanent”. I now have terrible anxiety attacks when I visit doctors. Only now that I’ve had a much better experience have I decided to leave a review because I want people to know that there are better options. Please don’t ignore the bad reviews like I did! (My experience was from a year ago, but after going to another doctor, I now realize how abnormal my experience was). I had bunion surgery on my right foot. I was 68 at the time, and had pain for all my life. Dr. Cohen fixed my bunion without a hospital stay, and I have never been happier no more foot pain it's like getting a brand new foot. I recommend Dr. Cohen he's the best, and you will be very, very happy.
All the people downing Dr.Cohen should stop judging people he is a very kind and caring foot doctor who goes above and beyond for his patients and the staff is very kind and the place was not dirty you know the saying you can't judge a book by a cover people should learn that I highly recommend this place
Dr. Cohen is an amazing Podiatrist. I’ve been a patient for many many years and finally needed bunion surgery, it was quick & painless. It has healed nicely thanks to Dr. Cohen and his caring staff!
Horrible Office! Very insanely filthy!!! I mean, really really gross! Yuck! The doctor is not all the way there. Please, find another one. Consider driving to Mobile, or to New Orleans than seeing this man.
Facility was disgusting! It was cramped and dirty. There were random people coming into my room for supplies the entire time that I was waiting. There is NO privacy here. All of the doors were open; I could even hear him performing surgery on another patient. Dr. Cohen gave me an injection without describing the contents or the effects. He also did not wear any gloves. A week later, my foot is swollen and I feel like I have an infection. It is alarming to me that so many people review him highly, because I would never recommend anyone see him. Facility was disgusting! It was cramped and dirty. Be careful. After a glance at my feet his first suggestion was surgery. Tried to sell me inserts two sizes too small for $50. I had misgivings when I walked through the door. Had a place growing on bottom of foot that caused severe pain and could hardly walk and being a diabetic did not help things either, Dr Cohen and his staff were friendly courteous and even stern in helping to remove the cyst and going beyond to help me get my diabetes on the road to recovery. Thanks to all

Dr. Cohen and his staff are and have always been helpful, informative and friendly. They made me feel like family from the beginning. Dr. Cohen is very knowledgeable and patient with his patients. TERRIBLE DOCTOR AND STAFF.!!!Over charged us then tried to make it better by giving us money back but after seeing what they filed with our insurance company they still over charged us. We should've only had to pay 20% of the bill filed with insurance and we paid way more than that and when we tried to get the xrays that we already paid for they won't give them to us. The worst experience they took to long very disorganized, dirty. The Dr really didnt give me a answer . Injected my feet said it was for inflamation my feet were not swollen. No telling how much that will cost me. Will nevwr go bacl.
Very unprofessional... The doctor looks and act like a old drunk. It 4 hours before I was able to see a doctor. He then come in, I tell him my problem he leaves for 35 minutes. Comes back and says I have pain problems and need braces. "Like seriously." Pain and numbness not the same. Needless to say. Everybody that worked there was on there cell phone devices. Okay the only reason why I even gave this place 2 stars is because of one of the nurses. This place was the the worst. They told me to come 30 minutes before my appointment to fill out paper work but they where not even open at the time they said i should come in at. my appointment was at 9:30 and i did not get seen until 10:30. It was just sad. The only thing that was good was the lady at the front and that guy that did the most work on my foot. Every thing else was not good and very unprofessional. I don't normally wrote a review, but when I read these reviews I had to LOL. I went to Dr. Cohen over a year ago. The office really is filthy and outdated. No kidding. I didn't even think that the board of health of dr. offices would allow that(if there is one). The doctor himself even looks dirty. He didn't say much. The equipment really does look like it's from the 1930s. He doesn't tell you what he's going to do. He just comes in and stabs big needles through your feet. I do mean STAB like you're a dart board. Maybe that's how all foot Dr's do it (I don't know). Injecting feet are different than fatty tissue or muscle in other parts of body. He did appear to be unprofessional. I couldn't get an answer from him. Appears to be a little off in the head. I won't go back to him in the future mainly because of the filthy office. It feels like you're at one of those free welfare clinics, but it's far from free. With that being said the results of my procedure did turn out good. In all fairness he is knowledgeable in his profession. He just doesn't have bedside manner or appear to be properly sanitized. I say appear because maybe they do sterilize the filthy looking equipment and office. It did give me the creeps though. I actually wanted to get up and leave before I ever sat down. Foot is better can walk better without pain.????
I had a bunion removed. Dr. Cohen was very professional. I sat up wayched everything he done and im very pleased with his work and his staff. Will come back in late October to have the other foot done. Thank you to you Dr. Cohen and Staff.
I was living with heel spur pain for 3 years until I went for treatment at Dr. Cohen’s clinic. He doesn’t like his patients to be in pain and he made sure to take good care of me. I’m now able to walk on my heel again because of his dedication. He’s invasive and well knowledgeable in his field.
Great Staff and Experienced Podiatrist!! I was referred to Dr. Cohen by a family member that he performed a procedure on 20+ years ago and she is still pleased with the results. My procedure was done as an outpatient procedure which saved me thousands of dollars versus having it done at a hospital (example: surgeon fees or anesthesia). I was able to return to work in less than a week on limited duty. I As of today I am 3 weeks post-op, the swelling is down, and I am quite satisfied with my results thus far. I look forward to him performing the same procedure on my left foot once my right foot heals. Great Staff and Experienced Podiatrist!! I highly recommend Dr. Cohen to my family, friends and anyone needing his care. He did surgery on both my feet (one foot per visit). Both surgeries sent well. I had no pain and was able to walk on my feet not long after the surgeries. I owe my excellent recovery to the expertise and experience of Dr. Cohen and his support staff. Dr. Cohen and his staff answered all my questions before and after the surgeries and made me feel comfortable prior to the surgeries.

My father and I had an appointment at 10:30 to see Dr. Cohen and when we got there the waiting room was cluttered and filthy. At the time there was only 3 out of 4 rooms due to a weather problem, and "work" was slow. We did not get into a room until 11:45 after numerous times of him saying that it would only be 2 minutes. When we got to a room it was disgusting and everything was rusted and old, the tools, and equipment was old and unsanitary.(there is no privacy) The "Dr." kept leaving the room and when the lady came in she said i needed an x-ray, and she came in 5 minutes later with this 1930s x-ray machine that was squeaky, rusty, and did not work properly. She then took 3 minutes to develop the photos and used the horrible light above us to look at them. When Dr. Cohen came in he did not listen to anything I said and assumed everything that was going on with me and what he was going to do to "help". When i doubted his abilities he took 10 min to find a picture on his phone after i told him i did not need to see one. He told me surgery was the only answer. He offered me a shot for the "pain" i was having, but i turned him down. He left the office not saying whether we were finished or not, so me and my dad left to the waiting room where we had to wait 10 minutes to check out. There was another teen in there with the same situation, but we did not know that until he disclosed our information to the WHOLE ENTIRE building, yelling across the room that she and I had the same issue. "Two pretty girls with the same foot problem". (HIPAA VIOLATION!!!!!) My dad and i were so exhausted and annoyed so we just got out of there a fast as we can at 12:50. Do NOT go to this office! If only I would have looked at the reviews first, I would have known and changed my referral. The office was unprofessional, old and dirty. The staff were not the best and did not know anything about billing. After telling the staff NUMEROUS times I was not to pay a co-pay they would not listen. I know its only $12.00 but I felt they were a very shady place. The Dr. tried to get me to buy orhodics (around $600), and two kinds of foot braces ($350 and $60). I refused them due to insurance not covering them and the price being extremely expensive! the $60 ones are not too expensive but looked very uncomfortable and I know I would not use them. I just felt they were trying to get me to buy anything. One minute I was told that this cream was covered 100% then I am being charged $10.00. Even the medical tech agreed that the Dr. tried to sell unnecessary items! I could not believe she was agreeing to this! Save time, and do NOT use this Doctor! Do NOT go to this office! My wife has much confidence in Dr. Cohen. He and his staff are very friendly and professional in doing what do.
My dad, at the young age of 91, has been having trouble with his feet and toes hurting for years. Dr. Cohn is working on relieving the pain and so far the improvement has been 90%. This has been a blessing for my dad.
He does a wonderful job. I knew what I needed and he got me back to walking. I was in so much pain, I couldn't put any weight on my heel at all. After the very first shot I was able to start walking and the pain after the first shot was 75% better...I have really bad heel spurs. Today I am in for my 4th shot and I have improved 95%.
I had a very painful corn on the outside and inside of my pinky toe. Unfortunaly my insurance wouldn't cover the removal he gave me a very fair price for the surgery and follow ups. Needless to say toe is healing properly and I can where shoes and walk properly. Thank you Dr Cohen.
I put off bunion surgery for many years due to horror stories of extreme pain and long recovery time but this surgery was a breeze with Dr Cohen. With his quick witt he kept me laughing through the many injections I needed to numb my foot before surgery and during surgery I didn't feel a thing. Here I am 3 days post surgery with no real pain and already walking almost normal with only a surgical shoe. Im amazed and thrilled to death! I have no fear of getting my other foot done once my bone fully heals. Dr Cohen is fantastic and his staff are great too. Thank you Dr Cohen. He is a excellent Dr he is very passionate when it comes to his profession I am so grateful to have him as my Dr thank you Dr Cohen .
Came to Dr Cohen with a badly infected diabetic ulser on my toe. I had been in wound care for over a year and half with no improvement. Within a matter of weeks Dr Cohen had my toe 100% better and the ulser nearly closed up!
Dr. Cohen quickly diagnosed and treated my ankle pain. A series of injections and a brace have reduced debilitating pain to a mere memory. Dr. Cohen and his staff are thorough, professional, friendly and most of all extremely effective. A job well done.
Dr Cohen and staff go aboveboard it is a pleasure being one of his patients. They treat my 93 year old mother who is in a wheelchair and Dr Cohen And staff are so gentle with her. The office is very clean. Great doctor and staff
I suffered terribly with foot pain. I saw Dr. Cohen's TV commercial & called for an appointment. Dr. Cohen diagnosed the problem & removed the ingrown portion of my big toenail. I experienced no pain during the procedure and his staff was caring & professional. A follow-up showed the incision was healing great & I was well on my way to wearing closed in shoes. I would greatly recommend Dr. Cohen and will return myself should I have other foot problems. Again, thank you Dr. Cohen.
Dr. Cohen removed my infected, ingrown toenail in his office. The procedure was very quick, and it healed quickly. He also provided two complimentary follow-up visits.
There is no way I would recommend this Dr. to anyone. He does not explain a thing. Talked on his cellphone while he was giving me an injection in my foot, no explanation of what the medicine was or how it would help. Not very sterile either. He talks so low I had to ask twice and still no clear answer. Never makes eye contact!! Believe me he will try to talk you ( your insurance) into buying something before you leave. even if you know it will not help. No one wears a name tag in the office.
Doctor Cohen fixed an issue with my foot that I have been dealing with for almost thirty years. He fixed a bone spur and corn that used to cause lots of pain. My foot now feels better than it has in almost thirty years.
I have Lupus and when I was 30, doctor Cohen gave me injections in my painful feet and it went away. Now at 59, the pain returned so Dr. Cohen gave me injections in my feet and I'm able to sleep again without any pain. The injections do not hurt because he uses a numbing spray. No steroids and no addictive pain medicine. The pain left immediately. If you are suffering with foot problems, please make an appointment to see him. I even called him over the weekend and he called me back. Very caring.
Dr. Cohen did an awesome job on my left small toe that was previously broken and acquired gout. The surgery that he preformed was great. It has only been one week and my toe feels unbelievable. I would recommend Dr. Cohen to my family and friends. Thank you Dr. Cohen
Office was gross . cramped and cluttered, My appointment was for 330 at 5pm I was put in a room, where a tech took x-rays 5 minutes later another tech told me I had to move to another room so they could use the room for surgery...... 20 minutes later the Dr. comes in and asked me what insurance I had...... What? Really? then touched my foot in 2 places and asked about pain. turned around filled a needle stuck me ( far away from my troubled area) and left the room with no explanation for the shot, or what it was........ 5 minutes later a different tech (nice Lady) comes in with a ankle brace.... my ankles are fine.... I told her I wanted to know what was in the shot and what was the prognosis. She went to get this confused Dr. and he told me what was in the shot, his prognosis and the fact he wanted me in a brace to help immobilize my ankle so my foot would feel better. But every patient I seen leave the office had some sort of brace. my part of the cost for the brace was 72 bucks..... or 1/5 of the cost according to the Dr. I had my wife take a picture of the box and we got the heck out of there. The same exact brace I mean exact same is 50 bucks on amazon and it is prime. This office is a prime example of why insurance is so high. called insurance and lodged a complaint. Never going back to him again worst medical experience in my life. Office was gross . cramped and cluttered, My appointment was for 330 at 5pm I was put in a room, where a tech took x-rays 5 minutes later another tech told me I had to move to another room so they could use the room for surgery...... 20 … More

I had a foot problem that I was dealing with, that was taken care of by Dr Cohen. I am very satisfied with the services I received from Dr Cohen.
My toes were Nasty. Cohen cut my nails and did that hyper blue on them 4 times and now they look great. I didn't have to wait long and will continue to go back if I have to wait 3 hours. He good for Feet.
Doctor Cohen is busy. But busy for a reason. He is good. I have had trouble with my feet for years and his shots keep me on my feet. It would be easy for me to take the easy way out and sit down. But for my health I need to be active. He has help me for two months now. I have him solely to thank for being on my feet. I take the shots every two weeks. Thank you so much to him and his staff
Wonderful Doctor saved my foot made life and walking pleasureable again. I traveled from Branson Missouri, to Gulfport to get the proper care. The work comp and DR'S in my area wanted to fuse my foot !! I am grateful having my life back and walking without pain.
I am not from this area and had not heard all the horror stories about Dr. Cohen. I simply chose him out of convenience and the fact he has offices in 3 other cities. The first red flag should have been the fact that he does surgery in his office with no anesthesia (just shots), and that I would be awake for the procedure. He has no bedside manner, comes across as cold. Do your research before letting someone cut on you! I had surgery 5 months ago and have had nothing but problems ever since.
The building is practically falling apart, hand written signs on the door. The building smells really bad and its just not what you would think a docs office looks like. He was rushed rude and everyone is in this therapy room no privacy IT WAS CHAOS I was there for 4 hours he came pulled on my hurting feet with no gloves didn't explain my x-rays and got a shot that wasn't explained and thats it. Do not go here they are rushed so imagine what will happen if you need surgery.
Will not go back! My first time coming in, the rooms were very dirty, toe nails in a metal pan under the chair, used utensils in the sink not cleaned. Dr walked in with gloves on his hands already, touching everything he passed with those gloves on. Then got angry because I told him I didnt want a shot (due to how unclean it was). He stormed out. Came in and told me I owed $280, when my wife asked why we couldn't be billed for the X-ray, he my wife that they can't afford to bill the remainder!

Would absolutely NOT recommend this dirty doctor to my worst enemy. My biggest complaint about him (and there are MANY) is that he did NOT sterilize my foot prior to cutting into it. I understand that if you are cutting dead skin, there shouldn't be a reason.... however; if you enter a room, do not place a fresh pair of latex gloves on (yes, he walked in wearing gloves), do not clean the area you are about to cut, and cut deep enough to make me bleed - you should have sterilized the area.
I had 4 surgeries @ the same time. Dr. Cohen was suggested to have all. I have no regrets because I did not had to go back for my right foot. I would recommend Dr. Cohen if you are looking for good Specialist. He is wonderful! I began healing immediately. Each office visit is good!
I had severe pain in my right heel. After X-rays, a discussion about why I was there and an examination Dr. Cohen's diagnosis was Plantar fasciitis. Dr. Cohen administered two shots to my right heel and asked me to return in two weeks. My two week follow-up visit was today and the pain I initially had has almost disappeared. Today I received another shot to the right heel and was asked to return in three weeks. Based on the relief after my first visit, I may not need additional treatment.
I was treated for a ulcerative callus on my toe. Infection got in the bone. Dr. Cohen did two surgeries and I took a lot of antibiotics. After over a year and half, it healed. I still have my toe! I am very satisfied with the treatment I received. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen.
Unprofessional was put in a room with 8 other patients and ask for info that was private to me. Was late coming in. Kept asking if I felt better with little effort. Slapped braces on me and scheduled another appointment to see if what I thought. The man in a fraud!!!
I decided to ignore the negative reviews because this office has better hours than others I had researched. That was a mistake. I cannot speak for Dr. Cohen professionally, but his staff were unprofessional and discourteous. I held my breath as I made the appointment, thinking that's just the way some people are. Then the day of my appointment, they rescheduled me. This was not too inconvenient, except they forgot to record my new time in their schedule. Fortunately, I called an hour before this rescheduled appointment to confirm. They had no record of any of my appointments. They told me to just come in, but if the office is like this, what must the doctor be like? He might misplace my toe! The people were gruff and short over the phone as if it was my fault. I called another office who answered extremely politely and fit me in two days later. I promptly cancelled my appointment with Dr. Cohen's office. Poor bedside manor, very rough with touch. Went for laser therapy and not to mention a year and a half later, my toes looks the exact same. Thousands of dollars wasted!!! The staff was nice tho
Did bunion surgery on my foot now it's messed up even worse Have to go thru physical therapy and more surgery to correct it I have no movement in my big toe anymore
I would not recommend this doctor at all! The office was dirty. This doctor does not answer questions and appears confused. My feet were hurting and beginning to grow crooked. He injected me with some injections (which I never got a good answer as to what it was) and was charged and out I went. Three weeks later I went to my regular doctor with infections in both of my feet. I would not recommend this "doctor" to anyone. I would not recommend this doctor at all! The office was dirty.
