Dropped as a patient due to insurance, despite the fact I am insured through work and Medicare at this stage in my life, but was never told. Am truly sad that after years as his patient and as a doctor I trusted was not informed of decision either by him or his office during numerous phones calls.Over the last year including an emergency room visit where the office said he was out of town so had to see another physician in the office but again never told me he was no longer going to be my doctor. He is a great doctor but apparently skills do not include making sure office staff knows what is going on. I’ve been a patient of Dr Bates for over five years. He is the most caring & communicative physician I’ve ever encountered. It’s not the easiest feat to find a doctor willing to give an addict care & compassion. He has on multiple occasions called to check in on me. Not only his staff (they’ve called countless times), but Dr Bates himself has called out of the blue to check my welfare. In my experience that’s a one in a million. His bedside manor is beyond reproach. His decency shows with his staff also. They’ve always been patient (not easy when dealing with me), sweet, and professional. I’ve seen offices where staff is apathetic & rude. That’s not the case here. Thanks to Dr Bates & his staff for everything. I’m confident I wouldn’t still be around to write this if not for his practice. I’ve been a patient of Dr Bates for over five years. This clinic has changed a lot in the approximately 15 years I have been going there. Front desk staff could improve in patient interactions. New staff not quite as amiable, friendly or helpful as past staff have been. Nursing staff is great. It takes weeks to get an appointment with him rather than a Nurse Practitioner or PA. When I need to see my doctor because I am sick I never am able to see him. If I pay to see a doctor, then a doctor is who I should be able to see.

I recently suffered a Hip Injury, Leaving me essentially unable to walk, or even stand for more than a dew minutes. I was introduced to a concept of Pain. Examined, provided recommended course of treatment 24 hours later 80% better maybe more! No pain meds required. Conservative care/

Dr. Bates is a very patient man. He listens to your concerns and you can feel confident that he has everything covered. I am very pleased he is my Primary care doctor. A word about his nurse, a very sweet young lady and is eager to help.

I have been going to Dr. Bates for over 12 years. He makes me feel like I am his only patient. His knowledge of prescription drugs is amazing. He doesn't throw medicine at everything he finds. I have been going to Dr. Bates for over 13 years. His is the most patient, and knowledgeable doctor I have ever visited. He takes all the time I need and really is a very good listener. I feel like I am his only patient. I really enjoy the follow-up I receive such as blood results with comments on the report from him about what areas might need addressing. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Bates is quiet, thinks deeply and quickly. He is cool, calm and collected . He listens to the patient and allows them to express why they have come. He understands things are 'Doable'. Dr. Bates is the best Dr. to come into my life. Yes, I will tell friends about him.
