I went to Tampa General Hospital for a procedure to have a liver biopsy. I had a liver transplant three years ago. On the doctors second attempt he in his on words said, "I think I nicked his diaphragm." I started hurting badly. I was subsequently placed in the trauma ICU for five days in which I was in a coma for much of the time. Afterwards my wife, Diane, says I'm not the same person I was. I now use a walker whereas I was using a cane because of foot drop. I lost strength in my right leg.

Dr Alsina I credit for doing God's work. I thank him for all of the time that he has spent learning medicine. For choosing this field in medicine. His expertise and dedication. His way of explaining the disease. His compassion, never leaving a stone unturned. His teamwork with his staff of doctors, especially Dr Franco, who did my transplant. And for his support staff. Yes, I recommend Dr Alsina for all of the reasons above. Also, for his work in medical Study Programs. Studies save lives.

Received new kidney 6 years ago at TGH. Dr. Alsina was surgeon to place my new kidney in me. My experience with Dr. Alsina and the entire TGH transplant team was and is truly amazing. Continual care I receive is wonderful. Truly caring and skilled surgeon. I owe my life to my donor and this great team of surgeons, doctors, nurses, and staff. Thank you!

Dr. Alsina performed a liver resection on me in October 2015, he was wonderful, caring and very reassuring. My experience with him and Tampa General far exceeded my expectations.

This man is absolutely fantastic. He is the head of the transplant unit at Tampa General Hospital and I have to tell you, the transplant team there is fantastic. 6 months ago I had Liver Transplant surgery there and I have to tell you, you couldn't find a better team anywhere. Dr. Alsina heads up the team and their concern, caring, compassion, and expertise is unbelieveable. Today I am alive because of them. I'm a bit of a difficult fellow and skeptical about everything. These people were tops!
