Dr. Gates listened carefully and answered all my concerns about my condition. He was kind, competent and instilled confidence in me for my upcoming procedure. I am very grateful to have him as my surgeon and respect his expertise and experience.

Unfortunately, my experience was much different than what you see from others below. I had surgery almost one year ago, it was a basic cyst removal and on the day of surgery Dr. Gates seemed to be in a bad mood and quite frustrated. He was in a rush, and I had asked him a simple question prior to being brought into the OR in which he was annoyed to even answer. I was referred to him by my primary doctor and my OB/GYN for surgery. After surgery I was in extreme pain and his nurse called him again he had the same attitude. Later that evening around 8pm the pain from the carbon dioxide was excruciating. I called his after hours line and he had the same attitude he had all day. On day two of recovery, I had the same issue I was in excruciating pain for 72 hours in total but I believe too much carbon dioxide was pumped into me during the laparoscopic procedure. My pain tolerance is very high but this was unbearable. He was angry, nasty and rude to me for bothering him after hours. Zero empathy. I was in shock because I had always heard such amazing things about this doctor. It took me a while to decide to write this review, however I feel he rushed through my surgery because he was very sloppy with my surgical scars. I typically heal very well, and the size of the scar above my belly button has not healed properly and my stomach looks a bit distorted from how it should look as compared to other healthy individuals who have the same surgery that heal nicely from laparoscopic surgeries. I’ve had a few consultations specifically with my dermatologist and other professionals- there is nothing I can do in regards to fixing the size of the scar above my belly button and the way my stomach healed around it. I’m extremely disappointed in Dr. Gates behavior and I almost felt as if he was having a nervous break down or maybe taking on too much work because the way he treated me was not OK. I’m speaking up because I know many others are afraid to speak up for themselves. If I educate people on my experience and I’m an advocate for myself, maybe if I can help one other person decide to get a second opinion then settling for Dr. Gates then this was well worth it.

Dr. Gates saved my life. He is amazing, caring, compassionate to the needs of his patients. He is very knowledgeable in his line of work. Before my surgery, he put me at ease and explains everything. He used the Da Vinci surgical system. I was able to go back to work after 4 weeks. It's been 2 months now, I feel great and I do not have any scars. The office staff is fantastic treat you with great respect and care. I would highly recommend Dr. Gates.

Dr. Gates is amazing, caring and tops in his field. He explains everything thoroughly and is compassionate to the needs of his patients. It's a very rare quality to be treated with the respect and concern he shows. He saw me before each surgery and addressed my concerns thoroughly. His office staff is fantastic as well, with their caring and follow-up. I would recommend Dr. Gates highly, although his talents, knowledge and ability, speak for themselves.

Dr. Gates’s way of interacting with me with respect, attention and consideration. He is one of the few Doctors nowadays who actually listens. And this has been the same for all the years that I have been his patient.

Dr.E. J Gates is amazing and saved my life ..with the surgery and care ....He is special.....I had Cancer 7 years ago and am doing great.... it was a bad one UTERINE PAPILLARY SEROUS CARCINOMA...STAGE 3C.. He is thorough and found many meds I was allergic to and found a way to help me...and for the ones who are worried about scars..there are none and no one can even tell I had surgery..I thank GOD for Dr. Gates...

Dr. Gates is a wonderful and caring doctor. He spends time listening and he is very knowledgeable. He makes you feel very comfortable asking questions and comfortable throughout the examination. Well run office. Loving and caring staff. I highly recommend Dr. Gates!!!

I'm a world of hurry up and be seen by a Doc, this office does not compare. The entire staff is thorough and caring. Dr. Gates takes his time and explains things to the patient allowe questions and is in my opinion one of a dying breed of quality physicians with a true passion for his patients. I will be recommending his office to anyone that veers needs a good Ob-Gyn doctor.

Dr. Gates was ok until i started asking a lot of questions about my procedure, he was a little annoyed.

My surgery had about a 2 week recovery time. Other surgeons were saying it could be up to 3 months. Extraordinary! The doctor's experience and knowledge make him a first choice.
