Dr Im came highly recommended by a co worker. She and I had similar conditions and he treated her. I made my 1st appointment in 2017. He has been caring for me ever since. I highly recommend him, his staff and the team that works along side him.

I was a complete bag of nerves leading up to the morning of my outpatient procedure. Dr. Im and the ENTIRE staff at Mercy gave the most amazing service. From the moment I checked in I felt nothing but genuine compassion from everyone I encountered. Special shout out to Nina ( Anesthesiologist) because that was what I feared the most. Her bedside manner…AMAZING! Maria (RN) and Michael (RN) with the crystal blue eyes were amazing also. I can’t remember the nurses names post op but they were all awesome as well. I don’t know how anyone could write a bad thing about this talented, and very caring doctor. I’ve been having a scary irregular cycle for the last two months, and had a D & C procedure literally earlier this morning. My only issue was the wait time, which wasn’t his fault. I am already home and feeling fine. His team was by far one of the best I could of ever asked for. He saved my mom’s life, and now he’s helping me. I am beyond grateful in every way possible. I’ve been seen by Dr. Im since I was about 15 and my mother worked with him since before Dr. Rosenshein retired and both of these physicians, in my personal opinion, are gynecologic geniuses! Dr. Im is my personal favorite...kind, patient, understanding to women)in general), and above all, I’d say he is a Wikipedia personified when both gynecology AND oncology are brought up. I’d HIGHLY recommend Dr. Im if you’re looking for the best care and the MOST knowledgeable. Also, as a side note, Dwight has been in various publications and television shows! Dr. Im is AMAZING! My personal experience was phenomenal from the time I met Dr. Im (2 years ago) to now. He's an absolute genius and handled my difficult case with care, tact, and professionalism. I am certain, based on my case, that Dr. Im is the best in the business. If you require surgery, please do yourself a favor and see him -- You will be in the absolute best hands. I'm floored to read some of the negative comments, here, but I assure you that Dr. Im is the best. He knows what he's doing and he is friendly, personable and reassuring. Additionally, Jennifer (the surgical coordinator) is wonderful to work with; Laura is pleasant and efficient, as are so many others that I've encountered, either, in the office or over the phone. Dr. Dwight Im was insufferably arrogant and highly dismissive of my questions and concerns during my consultation in his office. I had endometrial cancer and my gynecologist recommended him. During the physical exam, he was unnecessarily rough, ignored my husband and me completely, and instead made sophomoric jokes with a group of interns who he seemed eager to impress; finishing his exam by throwing his gloves across the room into the trash can as if he was playing basketball. All this as I’m on the verge of tears and concerned about dying. Completely out of tune with his patient and a terrible role model for the young doctors. I am told that he is a skilled surgeon but perhaps he’s autistic — no compassion and horrendous bedside manner. He has a reputation for arrogance. I went elsewhere and happily found a fabulous, compassionate AND skilled surgeon to perform my Davinci robotic hysterectomy. You don’t have to settle for one or the other. He removed a watermelon sized mass from my stomach and saved my life. He is the most skilled surgeon I have ever met. He is confident without being cocky. Very compassionate and efficient. A great advocate for the patient when it is needed the most.

When my local doctor was willing to accept an inconclusive endometrial biopsy after uterine bleeding I asked another doctor what I should do. That doctor said you need a second opinion. I asked "who is trust worthy?". The doctor said Dwight Im. I sent all of my records to Mercy Medical Center prior to my appointment. I could tell Dr Im had reviewed my records and was familiar with my case. He told me that I should have a hysteroscopy and D&C. He didn't know what the other doctor was thinking, I could have cancer. I had the surgery and everything turned out fine. It is now one year later and Dr Im continues to provide my gyn care. As others have said his examinations are quick but he will answer your questions if you ask. Why would you not want the best there is? Seeing him and having him provide my care is very reassuring.

Dr. Im is first and foremost an excellent doctor. After trying some non-surgical options, Dr. Im performed surgery on me. He explained things clearly and discussed all options before surgery then, he made every step as easy as possible. He is kind and compassionate and has a good sense of humor. I also appreciate that he remembers me when I come for an appointment. I have moved and have to transfer to a new doctor and will sorely miss Dr. Im. I highly recommend him.

I initially had reservations about seeing a male dr however went ahead and eventually made the appointment once the cyst returned. When the dr came into the room, he entered with some woman who wasn’t introduced to me and didn’t say anything until the end when she provided directions to the waiting room. The interaction was cold and non verbal for the most part. The dr never explained what he was doing rather motioned me to layback etc. just put his fingers to examine my vagina with no explanation or saying what he was doing before doing it. He had no warmth and it was completely uncomfortable. I just really wanted to leave. Once I was called into his office I was even more disgusted by the ridiculous amount of collectible paper weights that consumed his desk. There was a small space that was clear to show a paper where my bottom area was drawn to show where the cyst is. This made me more uncomfortable. I wanted to leave and didn’t want to ask questions but I did and I don’t think he would’ve explained anything like the surgery process or recovery process. I’m in no way shape or form returning to that practice. It was such a bizarre and surreal experience that I’m mortified frankly. I had pre cancer cells, when he first saw me he hugged me and said it would be ok. From then on no worries or concerns. When I came back to my room after recovery there were beautiful yellow carnations in a vase with a note from him. I'd give him ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆.

I do believe it's the little things that count significantly. Dr. Im has been my gynecologist since 1998. I had bounced around for years and when I went to Mercy the first gyny assigned to me was a seasoned well known doctor and horrible...so horrible. To everyone's surprise, I asked to switch and was told a new doctor had come on board and had no patients and was taking patients. I moved to Dr. Im and never looked backed. He was patient, he listened and cared about my concerns and did not rush or push me out of the office after exam where the first doctor told me everything was in my head, offered no solutions and showed me the door...all in 8 min go figure. I later had several surgeries that I believe saved my life. Dr. Im held my hand and actually took time to talk to me and even visited my hospital bed during and after each procedure over the years. I can't speak for anyone else but he has been the greatest thing that has happened to me and has taken a lot of worry from my life. I have watched him grow from his first small office at Mercy to managing multiple hospitals. I am very proud of his accomplishments and honored to know him. I worked for a huge group of on/gyns and know what excellence is. Excellent bedside manor, excellent surgical skills. GREAT DOC. HE DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND, ( SHORT OFFICE VISITS) BUT IF YOU NEED A SURGEON HE IS TOPS. A YEAR AGO HE REMOVED A TUMOR THE SIZE OF A WATERMELON FROM MY ABDOMEN ALL IN ONE PIECE, SO THERE WAS NO SPILLAGE OF CANCER INTO MY ABDOMEN. TODAY I AM CANCER FREE, AND VERY THANKFUL FOR SUCH A SKILLED SURGEON, WHO IS ALSO A REALLY WONDERFUL PERSON...JUST BUSY WITH HELPING AS MANY WOMEN AS POSSIBLE. I cannot concur with all the glowing reviews on this doctor. Unfortunately, my experience was much different. During a routine GYN appt, my regular doctor found a tumor on my uterus. She felt it was serious enough for further tests. Long story short, I found my way to Dr. Im. He had all my test results in front of him and in our first meeting tells me that my uterus and one of my ovaries have tumors on them. The only course of action he proposed was a hysterectomy. I was 35 and completely floored by this news. But I agree as there were no other options put forth by him and my surgery date was scheduled. I go home and start looking into it and I'm not put at ease by what I'm reading. I decide no, I don't want my uterus removed; the ovary, fine, but I want to keep my uterus. I call his office and get a staff member and explain my concerns. She says the dr will call me back. I never did get a return call from him. So I tell him the day of my surgery when I see him that I have changed my mind about the uterus but move forward w/ the ovary. Everything goes fine and I see him again at the 6 wk follow up appt. It is in this appt that he makes the comment "I would have removed the fibroids from your uterus but you didn't want me to." Whoa! Wait! My head is spinning at this point. I said "So the fibroids could have been removed w/out taking the uterus out?" And he says "Yes" but as he does so, the gets up from his seat and walks to the office door and opens it. I was floored! We are in the midst of talking about my case and he is basically saying 'this conversation is over, here's the door'. Basically, he knew right there he screwed up and wanted me out of there as soon as possible. And I should note, that directly across from his office is a waiting room and when he opened the door, the several ppl waiting looked up and watched us as we talked. This really bothered me, as I did not think it professional to discuss my personal issues w/ his door open right in front of other ppl, but like I said, he wanted me gone. Hindsight being what it is, I should have said 'shut the door, we are not finished talking. I still have more questions.' But I followed his lead instead and started to leave and the last thing he says to me is "I was never going to take your uterus, your only 35." At that point I was shocked into speechlessness! During that meeting he had just handed me the report summarizing everything that was done and it clearly states that a hysterectomy was scheduled and patient (me) decided not to do it. I could not believe what I just heard. I was and still am sooo upset over this. Now I have to go through all of this all over again and get cut into a SECOND time to have these fibroids removed when that could and should have been done the first time. And why the hell is he calling for the removal of a 35 yr old's uterus when the fibroids can be taken off w/out removing the uterus? That seems highly unethical. I'm sick to my stomach by what I was put through by this doctor. He is a liar and incompetent as far as I'm concerned. I cannot concur with all the glowing reviews on this doctor. I would not recommend him. It was a great consult. He seemed to care at that time. Then, he drops you like a fly and sends other doctors in to check on you. He is not the actual surgeon, he just "supervises" and then says everything will be okay, until its not, then says its not his problem and send you somewhere's else. He scheduled a exploratory lap then i had to call the office and ask them if they had any of my records and of course No they didnt so he was just going to do a surgery and explore.... hmmm once he got the records then they call and say ok now your having a robotic bilateral ovarian cystectomy so i did and i was the last that evening of surgery to get it, I never seen him after surgery in recovery and never got to go back to post op... Dr. Im is the best gyn doctor in the world, he first helped me with my fibroid tumors and then later with my hysterectomy. Very busy doctor but nevertheless a very friendly and kind person. I highly recommend him, especially if your high risk for any gyn cancers.

Dr. Im is the most caring and knowledgeable doctor I have ever seen. He has helped me through a multitude of problems and helped me to improve my quality of life. I highly recommend him. If I had to describe him with one word it would be PHENOMENAL.

I give Doc Im 5 stars however Mercy 3 stars only due to lack of communication regarding my surgery. They recomend getting pre op done 30 days prior but wont call u till 4 days before. The phone rings and rings in EVERY dept no one answers it and if they do they transfer you and then go to voice mail and no one calls you back. I was looking fwd to having my surgery done with doc Im as he is a great doc but had to cancel due illness and found another doc where the staff communicated much better

I love Dr. Im. I have been going to him for years. He is very compassionate. He spend the right amount of time with you overall. He does an exam and run tests, and also brings you into his office to discuss your visit, your plan for his finding, etc. Although, my surgery was a sucess 5 years ago, I continue to see him whenever he require.

Dr. Im was the answer when I needed an expert opinion. He is is one of the best doctors I've ever met and my experience with him was absolutely wonderful. My ob/gyn referred me to Dr. Im after he confirmed that my left ovary was abnormally large. Dr. Im was exceptionally kind, compassionate, thorough, efficient, and expertly explained all options for my situation and age. His caring led me to be relaxed and positive before surgery. His office staff was exceptionally kind and efficient.
