At first, it was wonderful. Hug & kissed me hello and goodbye. Referred me to a plastic surgeon, called Dr from his cell to the other Dr’s cell and asked him to see me. He was fully aware that he was not in my network but referred me anyway. Telling me don’t worry about the insurance, he doesn’t need the money anyway. Well I used Derisi for bilateral mastectomy and his Dr friend Gave me implants with expanders. He got me to my last “fill” then wanted $5,000 from me. When I called Derisi, his office said whatever agreement I had with other Dr is between him & I. Derisi has nothing to do with it. Went back to Derisi when I thought I had a bruise and he was cursing me & my husband telling us the insurance wasn’t going to pay his friend. He pointed to my husband and said “you need to F*cking get involved” this is going to keep happening if you don’t call your insurance etc....I have moved on, I am now with the BEST surgeon on Long Island.

The girl that answered the phone wouldn’t give me an appointment. I should have asked her name. She said I wasn’t a patient but I told her I had surgery 15 years ago by Dr DeRisi and I was diagnosed again with breast cancer. She told me I was no one and to call back after all my tests were completed. I told her I wanted the Drs recommendation which biopsy’s to take and not rely on the radiologist. I told the girl I sent my test results there and again she said I was no one and she must have thrown them out in the garbage. I had no choice but to ask my oncologist to recommend a surgeon. I am having a bilateral mastectomy next week with another surgeon. Because of the staff of Dr DeRisi office I had to find another surgeon

Back in 1993 he was my surgeon . He saved my life I never forgot his wonderful kind and caring bed side manner -A one of a kind ??

Dr. DeRisi performed my lumpectomy 25 years ago. He brought me through a frightening period with God's help in such a caring manner. I will always be indebted to him for his soft spoken manner and his confident and kind approach. In my opinion he is the best breast surgeon in LI. He told me much later that he was concerned about the size of my cyst yet he didn't pass it on to me. May God continue to bless you Dr. DeRisi.

The best! Such a wonderful doctor. Took his time to explain everything to my family and myself. Such wonderful bedside manner. Came to see me twice a day when I had a double mastectomy. He came highly recommended to me and I see why! He educated and printed materials regarding breast cancer for my daughters and granddaughters. What doctor does this??!!!! What an amazing man!

I have been a patient of Dr.DeRisi for 25 yrs. and had tears of joy today to see him Practicing again. So many women can again know that the very finest is back and can once again be assured of the best care available and ready to see all his patients again. I found him to be kind caring and knowledgeable. I had a bilateral mastectomy in 2012 and have followed up with him. All has been fine and I was very happy with him and his care and the office staff as I went through this.

Dr. DiRisi is an excellent surgeon with decades of experience. He is kind and compassionate and even takes phone calls! He has the best bedside manner. He performed my lumpectomy. Every doctor and technician I have seen since, commends his surgical skills. He is the best!

I have / had been a patient of Dr De Risi for many years ! I totally trusted him and felt and still feel he’s the best Breast Surgeon on LI , but my Sister in Law was also his patient as he operated on her twice and very successfully so ! But now , he’s suddenly “ on leave “ and while I understand this ( I do read the Newspapers) I think his office staff is horrible, discourteous and downright nasty ! a new issue surfaced, she was told she hadn’t been there in 6 years and no one could help !

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and was seen by Dr. DeRisi what a excellent physician. He was so soft spoken did not get excited he knew exactly what he was going to do. He discussed everything with me and my husband & friend. On April 3, 2018 he did a lumpectomy on me . Thank God my margins and lymph node was clear. I would recommend Dr. DeRisi again & again he is just great& very knowledgeable. He makes you feel at ease

I was a patient of Dr. De Risi for over 10 years. He dropped me as a patient in Jan. 2017. The reason is he forgot the Hippocratic Oath and through the years he devoted himself to money not his patients. He had the taste of a very rich lifestyle and this replaced eveything else. Right now he only takes very select insurances. I am glad that I was dropped. I would not want Drl De Risi performing any procedures on me.

Dr DeRisi has a good rep in LI but I was less than impressed. I found him very inappropriate ie talking to me (just diagnosed) & my husb about how much more the plastic surgeon makes than him, and pushing you in direction to make more $/partner with others, rather than taking the time and listening to his patients needs. I am thrilled post op that I went elsewhere to a top surgeon that really cared and was more honest. I could go on as to reasons to run the other way, but Ill leave it there.

Very caring MD with excellent bedside manner. Skilled surgeon. I would definitely recommend him. No long waits at office appointments. Most of the front staff are pleasant and helpful. Nursing staff are excellent. I enjoy attending the support group they have monthly. Would be great if they had the support group every week.

I consulted with Dr. De Risi based on high recommendations that he received from an acquaintance of mine. However, I was disappointed with the experience. I left the visit feeling ill informed. I definitely felt that he allowed me to falsely believe that I was a good candidate for a lumpectomy and there was no need to meet with a plastic surgeon unless I wanted a mastectomy. At the advise of another surgeon, I later ended up meeting with an oncologist to try shrinking my tumor before surgery.
