Dr king retired and left me hanging

My mom is his patient. She has only been twice and won't be returning. First visit, why he felt the need to quote scripture to us baffled me. He was talking so fast you couldn't understand half of what he said. Then wanted me to validate what he said, no. Kept telling us how long he has been a doctor, ok and what! Then on both visits she was there at least 3 hours! Really! Today we arrived at 10:45 for an 11:00 appt. We left at 2:26. Almost 4 hours. The nurse who took her vitals stated her blood pressure was a little high and that was probably because he had her sitting out in the lobby so long! Ok you want to be thorough and give each patient as much time as they need, schedule accordingly. Respect people's time as you want yours respected. My mom is his patient. I've been seeing Doctor King nearly 30 years. He is the most caring doctor I've ever known. He will always do what is best, I trust him completely.

The wait to see the doctor is ridiculous. Over an hour in the waiting room, then at least another 45/minutes in the exam room. Dr. King talks way too much about religion even though he is asked not to. He is a competent, helpful doctor in spite of the other shortcomings. His staff is less than helpful. Sometimes they turn off the phone in the early afternoon because they want to leave work early. His nurse, Lisa, is competent.

Dr. King has been my GP for well over 10 years, he has treated me with the upmost respect, he has been my parents GP for much longer than 15 years. I have always went to him with health concerns, general check ups and specialist referrals. I feel based on a review I've read about getting personal, isn't that what our doctors are for, to tell them what is bothering us, so they can help fix it. I feel that is why their are laws of Dr. PATIENT confidentiality, so you can speak truthful to one another.How else are they going to help you if they don't ask you questions. My opinion of Dr. King is very high regards, not only has he helped mE with serious health problems he helped both my parents and I am thankful for him. I've never felt so uncomfortable and disrespected going to a doctor. I'm not from Birmingham, so I was trying to find a good general practitioner to check my basic health needs. He came in the room and began to psycho analyze me. He questioned my sexual preference, and told me that he has a friend/doctor who they call Skittles because he's flamboyant, so he usually sends all the gays to him. Dr. King is extremely unprofessional as he cursed like a sailor, and then would throw scripture at my face. If he's hurt my feelings, I can't imagine how many other people have been disrespected. Nasty attitude, offensive, combative and disrespectful. No doctor should ever become so personal to call a patient a hypocrite. Do your job as a medical professional and keep your personal opinions to yourself, especially if your opinion wasn't asked for.
