Dr Mehr is the best of the best. He is definitely on your side. He cares and is concerned and honest. The staff is helpful and super nice. I’m so thankful that I found a DOCTOR that cares. “The Best”

I was referred to a Retina specialist for a macular hole. Dr Mehr was was very Professional with great bedside manors. He was excited to do the surgery and told me I had to do the hard part. His excitement about doing surgery put me at ease. He was quick and thorough.

Dr. Mehr is AMAZING. Today (a Sunday) I had an episode where I saw sudden floaters and flashes of light (symptoms of a retinal tear). I called my regular ophthalmologist office, and though he was willing to see me, he said it'd be safer if Dr. Mehr would see me. Not only was he willing to see me, but he was willing to see me VERY quickly (within an hour). Even though I took time from his Sunday afternoon, he was totally nice the whole time, very personable, quick (but thorough), and put me at ease. He didn't end up finding a tear, but gave me instructions to see my provider in a week, because I guess a tear can happen a week later after symptoms. But if he had found a tear, he was totally willing to fix it right then and there as needed. He also gave me his info, for if I have symptoms of full detachment and said to call him, even if it was the middle of the night, if I had symptoms of full detachment. Dr. Mehr was compassionate, thorough, and efficient for my emergency care on a weekend. When I retuned for follow-up, his professionalism continued and his staff was friendly and efficient, also.

I have been seen by Dr. Mehr for more than 4 years. His bedside manner is amazing, his staff is friendly and he has helped clear my vision! I highly recommend his services

Dr. Mehr is a great doctor. I have two eye procedures that were very successful! I highly recommend him.

We visited Dr. Mehr in kind of an emergency situation because my mother had a torn retina that was left untreated for few weeks. Unfortunately she had no idea her retina was torn and thought it was a bad allergic reaction after a nasty cold. Not only did Dr. Mehr agree to see us on the same day but he performed surgery on her eye that same visit. He is extremely professional, personable and thorough every time we visit his office. The visits are always on time despite being an extremely busy practice and the office has a friendly environment. The cost of treatment without insurance was very very reasonable and honestly we cannot thank the office and Dr. Mehr enough. I would recommend him very highly. He is one of those guys who has a good spirit and in the practice because he enjoys patient care and well being of others! My ophthalmologist detected an anomaly on my retina and referred me to Dr. Mehr, who is a very personable, likable guy. He was quickly able to determine the anomaly was a very small retinal tear that did not affect my vision, but needed to be corrected. He explained the two options for correcting the tear: laser and cryogenics. Although laser would immediately repair the tear, he suggested cryogenic treatment because the tear was very close to a nerve, even though it would take several days for the tear to heal with this method. He mentioned if it was his eye, he would choose cryogenic. The entire process followed his explanation exactly and, although the thought of having someone messing with my eye was uncomfortable, the procedure was very smooth. The follow-up visit was very quick and the tear was successfully repaired and healed completely, just as Dr. Mehr had explained. The staff in the office were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. My appointments occurred on time, if not a little early. I am very satisfied with the care and treatment I received and highly recommend Salt Lake Retina and Dr. Mehr! Dr. Mehr is an amazing doctor and person. It is so nice to actually have a doctor that cares.

When he was working on my eyes, he blamed me for moving my eye when the laser hit it. Now I have a little void moving around when I am looking at things. The second surgery he did blinded me and of course that was my fault also. After a second surgery I went blind in my left eye. Later he discovered it was the eye drops that made me blind. It went high enough to almost bling me permanently. I think the pressure was up around a 4s5. He felt it was my fault not his.0

I have been very impressed with the entire operation, and with Dr. Mehr in particular. I could not be more pleased, and do heartily recommend him to anyone who needs excellent eye care. He saved my wife's vision, and improved mine.
