Mr. Douglas William Marx

Rude, inappropriate, unprofessional. Wish I had read the reviews before we went. They are all true.

Like other reviewers, I found Dr. Marx to be very unprofessional. His language and jokes about sex to his patients are inappropriate. Worse, he lost part of my father's cataract in his eye. He then "forgot" about an important appointment to check my dad's eye before emergency surgery in Little Rock, where we were referred. They couldn't do the surgery and didn't know why my father wasn't on drops for eye pressure. My dad had horrible pain (causing him to be physically ill) for 3 days before the retina specialists were able to take over his care. There is much more to the story, but to keep it short, I recommend avoiding Dr. Marx.

I had been going to Sneed's Eye Center for about ten years. On my last visit I had to see Dr. Marx, now he had done two surgeries on my eye and did a good job, however on this visit I was back in the exam room waiting. He saw two other patients before me. The doors were open so you could hear what was being said. I was so upset by the time he got to me. I have never heard such vulgar language about women. I would never feel comfortable about him doing surgery on me again. I will never go back.

I had my left eye done first, it's fine; I had my right eye done the following week, Dr Marx dropped part of the cataract back in my eye and left it. My eye became infected and I had to have a second surgery to get the pieces left behind, I had it done elsewhere, I will never return to Dr Marx for any treatment. The day following the right eye surgery he told me never put a Kleenex on my eyeball then put a q-tip on it and pressed on it, then said don't do this, then stuck his hand in my eye, rubbed my eye and said don't rub your eye. I thought he'd lost his mind!

Had a nice experience with his assistant who did the preliminary testing.Maybe I ask too many question but she explained the tests and resulting numbers for glacoma and cataracts.said all looked good.Then doc comes in and says,you need cataract surgery.we do it right next door.He never stated in one or both eyes OR I could have full vision repair like his wife did,he says, because she is lucky enough to be married to a rich eye doctor. I wasn't having any problems.rude.dont trust

Does not conduct himself in a professional manner. He treats his patients according to what insurance will pay not what is best. Doesn’t present options and does not care to correct his errors I would recommend finding another ophthalmologist.
