I've been a patient of Dr Douglas Dothager for over a decade. He is fantastic! He is very professional, courteous, caring, and does a fantastic job managing my sleep apnea. I highly recommend Dr Dothager.

We are blessed to have a Dr. of this caliber in Belleville. He is straightforward, knowledgeable, listens, follows up when needed, is thorough and has terrific bedside manner which is unheard of from most people I talk to. When I was concerned about my mom and an ongoing lung condition, he investigated and helped us with a level of medical care I thought was no longer available in our immediate area. His medical staff is upbeat positive and also follows through. I highly recommend this Dr. You will not be disappointed with his care or the care shown by his medical staff! Thank you to the entire staff of medical professionals in this office! You give me hope in today's myriads of pathways in healthcare. We are blessed to have a Dr. of this caliber in Belleville. He is a knowledgeable professional physician. Kind and considerate

Dr. Dothager is the best of the best. He helped me in the past by giving me a C-PAP machine. This time he he discovered I have Restless Leg Syndrome. Figuring this out will allow me to get much better sleep.

The best doctor without a doubt.

I love Dr Dothager. His staff is always helpful, no problem getting an appointment and respectful of time. He listens, he cares. This is rare these days. I can’t say enough positive. I have also worked with him in the hospital setting. I think he is fantastic.

Great Doctor would not choose no other

Back in 2003 I had an awful fall from my horse which resulted in a broken shoulder & 3 broken ribs which punctured my lung & required a chest tube to empty fluid from the lung. Dr. Dothager was my ICU dr at Belleville Memorial. 2 wks later a different thoracic surgeon inserted a new chest tube when fluid returned, & did such a poor job it immediately resulted in a horrible pneumothorax. The nurses didn't understand why I was in such pain, but an hr later Dr. Dothager was passing in the hall & heard me calling desperately for more help & stopped in immediately to talk to me & the nurses. Within minutes he had them moving me to a private room & giving me enough sedation to knock me out for a full 12 hrs. I awoke to find the pain gone & was able to breathe normally. I will NEVER forget Dr. Dothager's kindness & immediate action when he wasn't even my assigned dr for that 2nd chest tube. When I met with him at his office within that month after the accident he also noticed a slight shoulder dislocation in my x-rays that no one else had noticed, & asked my permission to send it to a dr at Barnes Hosp because it was so unusual. He was kindness itself throughout, & extremely knowledgeable. I'm so glad that now, almost 16 yrs later, I have the chance to leave this review for him. That I was diagnosed with ALS a yr ago makes it all the more important to me that I can leave this THANK YOU here now. I was looking for his name after just last night learning I have a minor pleural effusion in that same lung. I wish I still lived in Belleville so he could treat it for me but I'm in competent hands where I live now, too, I feel. THANK YOU, Dr. Dothager, for being there for me at what I still call the most painful time in my life. Dr. Dothager is very thorough in his assessments and prescribed treatments for my skeep apnea. I never feel rushed and am able to discuss things with hi..

Poor bedside manner. Condescending tone and explanations. Seems to speak and respond as if my symptoms were not real or believable. Quick to bill for services (2 sleep studies), but unwilling to offer suggestions or therapy when my study came back "normal" and all other medical conditions have been ruled out. For a person that slept 7 hours over night, at a sleep study and easily feel asleep for 45 min 5X during the course of the study THIS IS NOT NORMAL! Poor bedside manner. He has helped me to breathe easier for 18 years! He's terrific!

I wasn't thrilled to use a CPAP machine after my sleep study. When I returned to Dr. Dothager for a 6 month follow-up, he explained the benefits of my CPAP in a way that I truly understood. He also made clear about the negative effects of sleep apnea and the results it has on my body and my overall well being. He's very patient, he listens intently and offers many suggestions to keep me healthier. One year later, I use my CPAP daily and feel fantastic. Thanks Dr. D!
