I’ve been going to this “doctor” for several years and he’s extremely condescending and makes me feel uncomfortable every time I visit. I feel like he judges me because of my diagnosis and prescriptions, but I’m at his will since no other doctors would continue to prescribe them to me. I’ll be looking for a new doctor soon and I’d recommend you all do the same if he’s your doctor.

This "professional" is pretty unprofessional once the patient room door is closed. I found him to be disrespectful, condescending, and he seemed to have a one-track-mind. He refused to listen to me during my visit and became angry with me when I declined the flu shot, then interrogated me as to why I didn't want to get it and repeatedly attempted to pressure me into getting it. This "professional" effortlessly neglected to address the purpose of my visit. He snarked and questioned my dietary choice of being a vegetarian. His major focus of my visit was to get me to get a flu shot. Very argumentative. He lost patience with me because I continuously attempted to change the topic of conversation from the flu shot to the focus of my visit. He stood up and got in my face and I had to awkwardly and anxiously verbalize how uncomfortable he was making me feel. This was my first visit with him. I have not seen another regular care physician since my visit with him, about 4 years ago, because thinking about potentially seeing another doctor like him makes me anxious.

Great Doctor. Does not mince words. Support staff helpful and friendly.

This is not a good doctor for the elderly. Will not listen to what you are telling him about the patient. Hard to get him to give you a referral for other doctors. Praying that all will work out for the patient.

Great dr. My whole family to include my 75 year old mom n dad.

Smartest man I know. He has helped me through many difficulties. Will not sugar-coat issues. If you’re looking for a frank, straight-forward doctor, this is your guy.

I had severe acne starting at 12 years old. Dr. Despain "treated" me for years and I had at absolute best a 10% decrease in acne. When I tried to get him to prescribe stronger medicine he got mad. This happened on multiple separate office visits. This occurred almost 20 years ago, so maybe he has gotten better (God I hope so!). However, my distrust and disgust with the medical profession started with Dr. Despain; so much so that 20 years have passed and I am still looking him up on the internet. It is sad that someone who probably thinks highly of themselves as a helper has scarred me for the remainder of my life. I can not get over how horribly I was treated, the cavalier responses to my very legitimate concerns , and the general turd-like behavior. I'm almost 40 and I still carry emotional scars from the "care" provided, along with the permanent physical scars all over my face due to his "treatments" lacking any efficacy.

Ok at first. Had ear issues and he finally referred me to an ENT. However when I needed to go back more than 3 times it took forever for him to authorize more visits. I asked numerous times for an ortho consult. His answer was they'll just tell you to lose weight. Did take an x-ray of knee but never told me the results. Found out from new doctor it is bone on bone.Now looking at 2 knee replacements that perhaps a lessor procedure would've worked several years ago.

He is always patient with my son and he recommends us to live a healthier lifestyle instead of taking a lot of medicine.

Useless. Never listens to my Mom and she ended up in the hospital. Now he won’t even do a referral to a real doctor for her. STAY AWAY if you value your health.

We've been trying to get Dr Despain to fill out the paperwork to get my 81 year old father's handicap placard renewed. He has had open heart surgery, suffers from Aortic Stenosis, is in heart failure, has kidney disease, asthma and carries Nitro pills. Practically cussed me out over a thyroid medicine I was and told me he was changing it to one I had been on that didn't work. Doesnt care what the patient says. I have bad disks he said I just need to stretch. Quack

I like Dr. Despain's approach to medicine. When I first visited Dr. Despain he reviewed all of the prescriptions I was taking and has worked with me to eliminate all but one of the medications I was previously taking. He is very good at not prescribing unnecessary test and has provided great advice to me on lifestyle changes to enhance my health.
