I have known Dr. Boylan since he replaced my husband's knee five years ago, and then again in January 2023. My husband's surgery and recovery went extremely well so I had great regard for Dr. Boylan. I believe that skill of the surgeon is foremost for successful surgery and recovery. (In my lifetime, I have personally experienced good and bad surgeries). We also like Dr. Boylan very much as a person and communicator. When I was having shoulder problems I knew I wanted to see Dr. Boylan and after MRI it was determined that I would need arthroscopic surgery. He was kind when I was nervous before surgery and all went well. He visits you before and after surgery and is reassuring. My recovery continues to be going well and I am now in PT. We highly recommend Dr. Boylan.

Explains conditions and treatments

Dr Boyland has operated on both of my shoulders. I have had quick recovery and minimal pain during the healing process. He would always explain what was wrong and what he was going to do to resolve the problem. After surgery he explained in detail what was done and what to expect for time for recovery. I would always recommend Dr Boyland to those who had shoulder problems.

Finally a doctor that takes time to listen

I needed my knee to be evaluated, and Dr. Boylan was excellent in helping me to understand exactly what was happening and what my options would be and what those options would entail.

Doug Boylan in a consummate professional who always takes the time to fully discuss patient concerns and offer a full range of treatment options. I have full faith that he is providing me with the best possible care. My only complaint is that the time Dr. Boylan takes with each patient means they are typically running anywhere from 30-60 minutes behind.

Dr. Boylan was friendly, professional and took the time to answer all of my questions. I was very happy as I have surgery scheduled and was a bit a nervous. I am very confident now.

I walked in on crutches and walked out without them. What can I say? I had to pay extra to see this doctor, but he was worth EVERY PENNY. Dr. Boylan came highly recommended and he saved me after spending the weekend without being able to move my right leg due to a Bakers Cyst, and now I can get my life back again.

This is my second rotator cuff surgery by Dr. Boylan ( 2 previous rotator cuff surgeries in 2002 and 2004 with different practice ). All were good experiences but I had full range of motion after 2 weeks with my first surgery with Dr Boylan which was amazing. Strength came with PT. I recommend Dr Boylan highly

Dr Boylan is the best. I saw him last June & found I needed a left knee replacement. He was going to do that last Sept. but I had to postpone due to some unfortunate circumstances. In the meantime my right knee started really hurting. I went to see Dr Boylan again & Now I need both knees done. But he explained everything to me. He took his time. I never felt rushed or anything. He offered to give me cortisone shots that day. I was still a little nervous about surgery. He said just call when I’m ready & we’ll set up the surgery. He really is very caring. Dr. Boylan repaired my rotator cuff surgery 20+ years ago. I still have 100% movement. So, I have a knee replacement done by him in December. I had a family crisis when I was discharged, and he personally called me four times to ensure his staff had worked to help me resolve my problem. What other doctor would do that? This is a follow-up to my review of Dec. 24, 2019. In June and Sept. 2020 I had my knees replaced by Dr. Boylan, and I did indeed receive excellent results. I was able to have the surgeries as a "Heal-at-Home" outpatient which I highly recommend. I am thrilled to be completely pain-free with great range of motion. You can't ask for more than that. It was truly a life-changing experience and I can't thank Dr. Boylan enough. I would give him 10 stars if I could!

Explains diagnosis and next steps in plain English.

It was an excellent visit! I have a shoulder issue but first we just spoke about what it felt like and what were my activities that might have contributed to this issue. He then asked me to make some range-of-motion movements which started showing where pain was hampering movement. Then, he came over to me and with a lot of care, moved my arm into a number of different positions. He was always careful to not cause any substantive discomfort. With each motion he mentioned what was going on in my shoulder which was very enlightening to me personally. In the end, he gave me some exercises to do until my MRI in a couple days and also discussed what would come next in my treatment. His Nurse made all the arrangements with Imaging and my Healthcare Insurance. This made scheduling the MRI very easy after I got home. I could not have scripted a better visit and I sincerely mean that. I know my shoulder will be fully back to normal very soon due to his care. Thank you Dr. Boylan!

New to the area I was fortunate to find Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists and Dr. Douglas Boylan. With a great bedside manner, Dr. Boylan gave me the time to do a thorough exam. His explanation of the next steps needed were given in a clear and cogent manner. I am glad I found Dr. Boylan. As important as the Doctor is, the office and its staff can make or break a patient experience. I am glad to report that I found the office in Doylestown to be assessable, clean, and the staff to be friendly and professional. I year check up of total knee replacement

Check in/out staff were all pleasant. As was the nursing staff that I encountered. The new office in Doylestown is beautiful. Dr. Boylan was great. Very welcoming and efficient. Answered all of my questions. Spelled out all options and his recommendations. Felt very comfortable, respected and heard.
