Dr. Dewey did a total knee replacement in 2012 and it is still working exceptionally well. In 2015, I fell and broke my elbow in 3 places. I had doctors tell me if I didn’t get it repaired quickly, I would lose the use of the arm. About three weeks after I broke it Dr. Dewey performed surgery and prescribed therapy. Today, 2022, no one can tell I ever had such a major injury except for a scar where he did the surgery. My arm and elbow are as good as ever. Over the years, Dr. Dewey has replaced both hips and both knees. He fixed a lifelong issue of bow-leggedness that caused all kinds of other structural problems. He has a great "bedside" mannerism. His staff is very professional, and kind.

Dr. Dewey was the third orthopedic surgeon I saw after two others gave mediocre care following an injury. On my first visit, Dr. Dewey was darn near a beacon of light, and gave me hope that I had not had in 8 years. After sending me for MRIs, on my follow-up visit, Dr. Dewey gave me a plan of action, and the first real encouragement that I've had in so long that I could not contain myself and cried on the way home with utter gratitude. Soon enough, I had my first surgery with Dr. Dewey, and between him and his fabulous PA, Michael Bertagnolli, I am actually getting my life back and continue to be thankful for real doctors like Donald Dewey, who are in their field for the right reasons, and truly succeed in helping people obtain better quality of life. Great facility, the nurses and drs really care and are so knowledgeable. Especially Mrs. Pauline and Mrs. Howell.

He explained how he was going to do my knee replacement. This is the third surgery that Dr.Dewey is doing for me. I have total confidence in him. He has year's of experience and the background(certifications) to make. an excellent, proficient, and successful outcome for me. To regain use of my knee. I am looking forward to regaining form and function—to walk normally again for the first time in 10 years.

Had a referral set up this appointment a month ago for shoulder injury that continues to give me problems and really hurts just to get there and they tell me I have to reschedule because the Dr was off doing something else. I asked to see someone else and was told because I didn’t break anything I could wait another 3 weeks. 2nd time I couldn’t get West Florida to even look at my arm so how do they know I didn’t break anything or if something is torn. This is why people do not go to doctors. ????Going to find someone else. Absolutely amazing, one of the nicest surgeons I’ve ever met. Impeccable bedside manner, he really cares and you can tell it is truly genuine! I would recommend to EVERYONE!

Dr Dewey is the best in P'Cola! He is a great surgeon, a wonderful doctor and human being! He cares for what is best for his patients. Won't go to anyone else!!

Appt. was at 2pm and I'm sitting with my mother still waiting to be seen by the Dr. at 3:30. Zero respect for their patients time UPDATE-So my mother has continued to see Dr. Dewey since my last review (1 star) and I have learned that the reason he runs so late is that he is an AMAZING doctor and encourages questions and insists on answeringthem all. Dr. Dewey has been my go to for over 12 years.. wouldn't think about using anyone else.. his P.A. Mike is awesome along with complete staff

I have zero faith in him.

He is the most attentative Doctor and spends quality time with you. I never feel rushed. He is truly a gifted physician. I have appreciated him more than he knows.

Incredibly long wait time for a scheduled appointment.

I was misdiagnosed with a torn ligament or torn tendon. The first MRI didn't show anything due to the machine not being strong enough. I was sent to physical therapy which only made it worse because they were treating it based on a misdiagnosis. The issue with my foot started in mid January. I finally got a nerve block in May, but it didn't help. I had to wait another six weeks to have a second MRI, the first one was in March. I was able to see the results in my portal Thursday after I had the MRI on Monday. I was never contacted about it. My rheumatologist talked to the orthopedist medical assistant and told them I needed a follow up appointment. This appointment was seven weeks after the MRI. I had an appointment at 8:00am and waited while the doctor talked to the nurse about his weekend for 20 minutes. Then, he went in to see another patient at 8:20am. Finally, about 8:50am the doctor comes in and tells me the MRI results. He says I don't need surgery, and he can give me a shot if the P-Wave I am getting at the chiropractor isn't helping. I heard him say that seeing me was a waste of his time out in the hall, and he wasn't making any money off seeing me. Then, I hear the medical assistant say that's partially her fault because my rheumatologist told her to make me an appointment. I waited for probably another ten minutes and finally opened the door and asked if I could leave because I was late for another appointment. At that time, he apologized for not getting back to me about the MRI. He stated that he thought another doctor in the office was going to call me, and that doctor thought he was going to call me. Long story short if you don't need surgery this doctor isn't interested in seeing you or helping you. It took seven months to get a diagnosis, and that doesn't count the seven weeks I waited on them after the MRI. I have been seeing Dr. Dewey for years now. You know it is a great doctor when another Ortho sends you to them. Which is what happened to me. I thought I was satisfied with the first one but I am super happy with Dr. Dewey. He has kept me walking with 3 surgeries and another one coming up! I don't like the wait when I go in but I know it is because he takes his time with you and I have never felt rushed with him, and believe me I have my share of bone problems. As always Dr. Dewey was kind and caring. We discussed my much needed TKR. He is willing to work with you regarding surgery and rehab. He replaced my left knee with perfection which is why I trust only him with my right knee.

There is NO reason why ANY patient has to wait over an hour for a SCHEDULED DR. appointment!!! This happened with Dr Dewey If this happens to anyone please write a bad review, this has to STOP!!!

His office staff needs improvement. Was scheduled for a revisit 6 weeks after first appointment. Just found out by accident that appointment was cancelled and rescheduled 3 weeks later since Dr. Dewey will be out of the office again. My first appointment was cancelled for same reason. Starting to not believe in this office.

Dr. Dewey did my daughters surgery and she is doing great. His medical assistant Amanda is amazing went out of her way to help my duaghter.

Dr. Dewey is a doctor in a class of his own. He is caring and explains things to you where you can understand. He is never in a hurry,he spends the time needed with each patient. Unusual these days. In april 2014 I stepped down from a picnic table from a sitting position,maybe three inches, I had to have full shoulder and hip replacement. I will forever be grateful to GOD and Dr. Dewey

I was recommended to Dr. Dewey from another orthopedic doctor in Pensacola, needless to say that doctor lost a patient. Dr. Dewey has excellent bedside manner and a VERY caring surgeon. He has performed two operations on me that I have turned down by other doctors. Knee replacement and total foot reconstruction. I trust him and anything he tells me. He is very busy and not always easy to get into but if it is after surgery they seem to be able to get you in.

Dr. Dewey keeps me walking with Arthiritis in my right foot. I get the steroid shots from him or I couldn't walk. He has always shown compassion to me with my problem. He actually sits down on his stool everytime I have been to him and listens to me and is never in a rush to dart out the door like some Dr's. He is caring and down to earth and I appreciate him.

I love Dr. Dewey. He is kind, understanding, explains things where it is easy to understand. He is patient with your questions and shows compassion for your pain. He has been my doctor for some years and I plan to continue to see him as long as needed.

Do yourself a favor and don't, just don't bother with this doctor. He is too busy and overwhelmed to really devote the time to caring for individual patients. This doctor never resolved my problems and I worked with him for a year. I was stupid to go this long with him and his staff. I want to help someone else to not make the same mistake I did.
