Dr. Chesler is the finest doctor of any specialty I have ever seen. As a psychiatrist, he is so compassionate and skilled. He exudes a kindness that makes you feel like you matter, which is so vitally important when working in mental health. Every doctor who works in this arena should take a cue from Dr. Chesler. Just by being conscientious and empathetic, and patient, he has saved many lives, I'm sure-including mine.
When I just got out of the hospital, I was on haldol, depakote, and cogentin. They were very strong sedatives and it was a guarantee you were going to gain weight. He got me off all of them and only put me Zoloft and Lamictal, which had very few side effects. I was his patient for about 2 years, but when I moved out of my parents house, I only had Medicaid, and he didn't accept Medicaid. But this man saved my life and I'll be forever grateful for him
