Don N. Lerner

DO NOT let Dr. Don Lerner operate on you!! He was supposed to straighten my nose, but it is just as crooked as it was before my $19,000+ surgery! His only explanation was, "I don't know what happened." You don't know what happened??!!! It's your job to "know what happened"! You literally get paid to "know what happened"!!! What kind of surgeon says those words to a patient?? Then they only refunded me about $850 for the mishap!! Apparently, they claim that only $850 was his portion of income for my $19,000+ surgery! But where's the accountability for your mistakes, Dr Lerner? What about me? Is that not worth anything?! Do you not care for your patients??? Now I still owe thousands of dollars, my nose is still crooked, and I'll have to pay even more thousands if I want my nose actually straight like it should already have been, if Dr Lerner did what he said he could. He should have taken care of that bill totally! What the heck is $850 gonna do?! What a double whammy & a slap to my face! I wasted my time with multiple days of recovery & pain, thousands of dollars, and I risked my life under anesthesia... and for what?! To have this terrible result?! Aaaand I still have thousands of dollars to pay!! Aaand my nose is still crooked!! How fair is that?! I literally asked him during the consult before I decided to schedule the surgery, if fixing my nose would be difficult. He assured me that it would be a routine surgery, nothing out of the ordinary and everything would be fine. Wrong!! He did me dirty, like an expensive used car salesman!! And if my results are "routine" for Dr Lerner, do yourself a favor and choose another ENT that will "know what happened", and at least be willing to take financial responsibility if there is a problem. Don't be like me... stuck with a HUGE BILL and BAD RESULTS from Dr Lerner & his team!! Negative stars should be an rating option on here! SMH...

Very poor treatment of the patient. Dr. Came without reviewing the hearing test. Showed no interest in the treatment of the patient. He made referral to some other doctor.

Dr Lerner was very kind and professional. I had a severely deviated septum and after surgery I can breathe SO much better! He also did my tonsils in the same operation. I’m so glad I went to Dr Lerner and I can highly recommend him to anybody

So, I'd been to the practice on Old St Aug Road, and am experiencing issues that are ongoing. I'd been seeing the PA who is fine but my issues are not resolving and I need to see a Doctor. This practice on Old St Aug road is rather far from where I live. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Lerner's office at the beach. 45 mins before my appointment the nurse calls and tells me that Dr. Lerner is refusing to see me. That I have to go back to the St. Aug office. I thought I had the right to choose who and where I went for treatment. I am at a loss for words. Dr. Lerner done wonders for my sinuses. I had back to back infections and lived in sinus pain. While examining me he found divided septum and repaired it and cleaned sinuses out. Its been 3 years and i have had no sinus infections.... His staff is top of the line... I would recommend him to anyone that needs a ENT.

I am 88 years old, soon to be 89, and I have an autoimmune disease, and terrible sinus blockage based upon X-rays and CT scans. My condition had been so bad, I felt no quality of life left. I was not an easy candidate for surgery. Nevertheless, Dr. Lerner took me as a patient, did the surgery, faced surgical complications caused by bone deterioration caused by myasthenia gravis. He dealt skillfully with my situation, solved the problem, fixed it, and did a spectacular job. His superb and skilled surgery surely will have made the rest of my life livable.

I had sinus surgery in October 2019. My sinus issues continued on after the surgery with constant drainage in my throat and causing difficulty sleeping and swallowing. I followed up with Dr. Lerner in Jan. 2020. He scoped both sides of my sinuses and scheduled another CAT scan. Keeping in mind that my deductible of $ 4500.00 is no where near being met. So I paid $ 285.00 for my first return visit. Then I paid $ 199.00 out of pocket for my CAT scan. I returned to Dr. Lerners office on 3/3 for my CAT scan results. I was told I needed sinus surgery again. I told Dr. Lerner my deductible is long from being met. He told me to talk to one of the girls out front and they would work something out. I was told I would have to pay $ 3000.00 for the surgery and I would have to work something out with the Anesthesia doctor and the hospital for the surgery. So here I sit with no way of paying for a surgery again that should have been properly done the first time. I’m very sickened by this whole deal. My follow up visit for CAT scan results was $ 85.00. Follow up visit in Jan. 2020 - $ 285.00 CAT Scan - $ 199.00 Second office visit - $ 85.00 - $ 569.00 so far out of pocket this year. Samuel M. Francis I had sinus surgery in October 2019. I found Dr Lerner and his staff to be exceptional and would recommend to anyone in need of an ENT.

This man is a medical genius. He restored my voice after a Mayo surgeon nicked my vocal cord and left me with only a whisper of a voice. Personality? I could care less, but find him very pleasant

Dr. Lerner is the best!!! I had a terrible sinus infection that wouldn’t go away. He performed my surgery and made it 100% better!!! He’s a great doctor.

Dr Lerner is a good doctor. He could be a little more personable but hes getting better. With me anyway.

Yes, he is fast and can come across as abrupt but I found that if you ask him questions he does take the time to answer them. His office is run like a smooth machine. You are in close to your appointment time and out within an hour. I have recommended him to co-workers that have also expressed satisfaction with his care.

Wonderful office with a fabulous front desk staff. Dr. Lerner took the time required to listen and address my concerns. This laid the groundwork for further diagnostic options. Definitely refer my friends/family

He is the worst doctor I've ever been to. Spent 3 minutes with me, barely asked me any questions and showed no concern what so ever. Acted like he didn't care really. Didn't want to even try to figure out why I have a cough. All he did was take my money and gave me nothing. Just my same questions with no answers.

This doctor was quite offensive. He did not want to hear anything that I had to say over my complaints, symptoms and/or thoughts as to my condition. He was dismissive, arrogant and rude. As it turns out, a day and a half after seeing him, I was diagnosed with Ramsey-hunt syndrome, landing me in the ER at Mayo Clinic. I was hospitalized and started on IV therapy. I wonder if Dr. Lerner listened to my initial complaints and perhaps done some investigating of his own, whether I would now have facial paralysis as a result. This doctor was quite offensive. They do not think of you as a client that has a choice. I went there to make sure my septum was still intact. It was with one look, no scope was necessary. Dr. said that he thought I may have an allergy or a sinus infection and wrote a Rx with instructions and even said that was all. But then he said he would do a scope AFTER he wrote the Rx and concluded I was fine. The scope cost me $150 out of pocket. I would have refused the treatment as it was unneeded but they blamed my insurance.

I highly discourage individuals in need of an effective ENT to seek care from Don Lerner for multiple reasons. Rude. Not concerned! Long wait time. He has no "bedside manner", better yet, no manners at all..did not even introduce himself or ask my name. He told me "your ears are fine" 3 weeks later, another ENT cultured my ears and discovered I had two types of bacterial infections.

Enjoyed my visit today, with Dr. Lerner. He explained my condition thoroughly; advising me that I had mild to moderate hearing loss. And, letting me know that I could benefit from hearings aids. However, also advising that this 1st visit to him could very well be used as a baseline determinant, as to whether there is any further loss or change in my hearing in a year.
